I loved how Arthas was the first boss to actually acknowledge the players are powerful. All the other bosses in every game ramble on about "You are all insects!" and so forth. But when your guild managed to kill Arthas, he says "This group before me is the greatest fighting force the world has ever known". Actually Hiru Kael isnt the only boss to be an end boss in two different instances in the same expansion. Anub'arak was the endboss for both Azol'nerub and Trial of the Crusader. Lich King as well.
Barking Lord dude come on rofl, he said Kael was the only raid boss in an expansion to reappear later in a dungeon. Meaning he is the only raid boss who later came into a dungeon. Anub were never a raid boss to begin with, and Lich King came first in a dungeon then a raid. So what your saying is not true :)
@@avekatten3207 he literally said “the only raid boss to appear as the end boss of two different instances in the same xpac.” He said nothing about “A raid boss to reappear later as a dungeon boss.” The only prerequisite that was implied was that he was a raid boss at some point.

The saronite bombs glitch wasn't used on the heroic kill. It was used on the normal mode kill. That's why that guild went back and immediately got their kill. LK25H took several weeks before it fell.
DW boss fight is the most incredible in terms of mechanism design. You fight with each PART of DW in separate scenes instead of a giant dumb dragon as usual.
13:43 So this section is wrong, and I don't mean wrong as of 2022, I mean it was wrong in 2017 too. For starters one of the design choices for Hearthstone was to simplify what archetypes were, meaning they were weaved into the intiial game as card types. Which in turn means all beast cards are of the beast archetype. This is why they're mostly used for supporting beast cards and it's not very common to see them intermingled in a big way with other card types. This is the first instance of a mechanical archetype being in the game, and was true as of 2014. The first instance of an undeniably lore archetype in the game was with the first expansion "League of Explorers" which introduced the League of Explorers archetype, with all members of the league being collectible in the game. they wouldn't really work together, and outside of their lore there is no connection but unless you want to claim Summoned Skull isn't an archfiend Lore is enough for an archetype. This instance was true as of 2015 If you want to talk about the naming convention, where all Archetype cards share a name then the Alexstrasza archetype has been in the game since the second expansion, With Alexstrasza's champion being introduced in the "Grand Tournament" and being a dragon support card. if you want to talk about the open ended support the card grants the answer is simple, it's because Alexstrasza as a character isn't an isolationist character, she's a dragon aspect, of course her archetype is going to support other dragons. This means that naming convention archetypes have been in the game since at least 2015. Additionally though this is up for debate there is an example of 1 card which appeared in Blackrock Mountain (2015) which by the modern definition of Hearthstone is a direct support to another card. That said at the time it was not. And that is because due to how many cards there are in the modern game that change the hero portrayed Due to this though this definition didn't exist in the initial game there is a distinct difference between a "Portrayed Car" like Galakrond, and a Minion card like Deathwing. What this difference means is that a minion card is considered a different card to a portrayed card, even if they are linked and that would retroactively mean that Majordomo which is a minion card that turns your hero into Ragnaross is the first direct support in the game as the game counts Ragnaross as a different card, Majordomo is just a summoning condition. Like how fusion monsters in yugioh require a specific monster. So yeah, C'thun isn't the first archetype in Hearthstone. you could argue it's the first in-depth archetype or it's the first acknowledged archetype but saying it's "The first archetype" whenever there are archetypes both by design and literal archetypes that have existed in the game before it, years before it is incredibly disingenuous. Essentially an archetype means in terms of card games is that they share a string or connection, That can be as simple as supporting other creatures of the same type or as vague as being from the same in lore group. if types were like the species then yeah you could argue that hearthstone types were different from archetypes but we also see Pirates as a type and they at the time exclusively supported pirates, if you want the first expansive archetype, with direct support you're looking at Pirates. No matter how you cut it unless you cherry pick the definition of the word or don't think about the definition of the word then C'thun wasn't the first archetype, we have a ton of examples of cards that existed before c'thun and which were in archetypes. Edit: 25:55 This is also incredibly wrong, like so wrong that I'm 99% it comes from a personal bias. Why? Because Deathwing is more well known, and I don't mean in the WoW community I mean as a character, with the promotional Cataclysm pictures being spread across the internet and indeed the world, even without knowing where they're from or what the character is. The Lich King is essentially a guy in armour as far as the masses are concerned but Deathwing is a now iconic dragon designs whose popularity far exceeds and eclipses the popularity of every other WoW character due to the fact that even WoW legends like the Lich King and Leeroy Jenkins are only relevant to the gaming and fantasy spheres but dragons transcend beyond the influence of the gaming and fantasy spheres, and Deathwing is a now iconic design for dragons. If you look up Magma Dragon, Molten Dragon or even Fire dragon you will find a host of dragons that look they're takes on the same idea and interpretation as Deathwing is... Because they are... Fire between cracked armour isn't very unique but whenever the vast majority of these pictures share head structures, horns and even the pattern of the lava to Deathwing specifically that's where you realize the influence. I have seen people who have never played videogames, who don't know "World of Warcraft" exists, who have drawn Deathwing, and this has happene more than twice. I have never, ever seen anyone even know who the Lich King is if they're not from the fantasy or gaming communities or do not have contact within them. The Lich King is a popular character yes but there are few characters in gaming who are as recognisable as Deathwing. it's just not a fair comparison, like a King to an Empire. Oh, additionally the idea that the Lich King is one of the most popular bosses ever is also not true.
36:20 One more boss does this nowadays - killing you as a part of mechanic that leads to your victory: Argus. And well, if someone is supposed to be more powerful then Lich King, it would probably be a Titan... Titan who is behind the infinite power of the Legion nonetheless. Though Argus killing you isn't actually supposed to show you that he was only messing with you up until that point. He did struggle apparently.
I'm suprised that I never see Lady Vashj in any of these "top bosses" videos - I for one think it's one of the best fights in the game and was very innovative for the time, not to mention part of one of the best expansions in my opinion. I don't think i've talked to any raider in tbc that didn't love the Lady Vashj fight - so much was going on at once which was very new and innovative for the time, hunter\warlock tanks running around, splitting the raid up to quarters to get rid of the adds, passing around that thingy (forgot the name) and then having the final part of the fight where the amount of poison on the ground - if you were taking your time on killing the boss covered the whole room apart from like a little circle on the first kills. Not saying that it should be number 1 on these lists - but i'm suprised that I never see it mentioned.
@@luisf.r8146 he said "any", not "this". I agree with his sentiments about lady vashj. I think they eventually had to nerf her because most people couldn't kill her. I think the problem is that KT from the same raid tier overshadows her due to the cool weapon mechanic.
um, quick note the elves weren't dealing with the alliance of today, the "alliance" was really just garathos and the survivors of lordaeron, with help from some dwarves and elves (which he hated, and to be honest they let lordaeron fall apart during the plague and refused to help)
Garrosh is a true hero for the horde, a true leader, the only one that really put the horde in the place that deserved. What Thrall did to him is a shame and Thrall one day must pay for what he did to a hero.
Tiny edits that changed overtime with this videos info (not things being incorrect, just trivia that changed) •Anduin became a HoTS hero thus making all HS heroes playable in HoTS •Deathwing was added to HoTS and is built to just BE a raid boss (way more than Rag) and even though he’s pretty easy to kill he still fits the raid boss feel. •Galakrond and his variants got added to hearthstone adding a whole ‘Galakrond deck’ archetype that stood next to C’Thun with cards dedicated too him
Another note on Ragnaros: in order to fight him you have to fight Executus, that only appears after you extinguish some fire runes on the ground. Said runes extinguish after you kill a specific boss. So, all cool right? You kill the bosses before him, defeat Executus and summon Ragnaros, no big deal. Well, in the beginning killing bosses did not extinguish the runes. It was needed an item that needed to be obtained from the idraxian waterlords in Azshara ( if i remember correctly), which is on the other side of the world. NOT ONLY: said item needed the completition of a quest which required the body parts of some fallen enemy bosses. NOT ONLY: said item was an enchanted item, meaning that you had to carry it to the raid on one sitting. NOT ONLY: said item was limited to 1 in the stock. NOT ONLY: it existed a permanent version of said item, but only after you reach revered with them. And you get reputation with them minimally from quests and mostly from killing mobs on Molten Core What a pain in the ass xD wow.gamepedia.com/Aqual_Quintessence wow.gamepedia.com/Eternal_Quintessence
29:00 the bug was on normal, if you need detail search in preach recent interviews of "legends of wow". I remember it as well and that was a bullshit ban for the players (who happened to be on the same server - Tarren Mill).
kael'thas being the final boss of 2 instances in 1 expansion - isn't the Lich king technically the final boss of BOTH the halls of reflection and icecrown citadel? Anub'arak is also the final boss of both azjol-nerub and trial of the crusader.
It is easy to forget anub. The character was great but people were upset that a popular villian like anub was an instance boss. So they put him in trial of the crusader, a raid very few people liked. He just kind of shows up. His fight really isn't notable. It is a shame for such a cool villian.
Pretty sure this comment has already been posted, but at 3:14 Kael'thas is not the only instance of this case. Only one expansion later, we had Anub'arak, who was the final boss of Azjol-nerub and Trial of the Crusader.
Awesome list! The number one pick is obviously a given on anyone's list! Daaamn I was just really hoping that the introduction clip you used would have been the original Wrath of the Lich King cinematic where you only see a shot of his foot, taking the first step onto his walk through the ice, with that chilling music "Arthas, my son"
Questionable things... like killing a prime Naaru... excuse me, but Xe'ra had it coming for trying to force things on him. I may not like him, but he had a point there.
Kael Tempest Keep, Magister's Terrace. Anub'Arak Azjol-Nerub TotC, Lich King Halls of Reflection/ICC, those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Hey Hiru! This is a question for your Q&A video :). What is the most memorable experience you've had in WoW? Mine would be when I first heard the Lich King talk, as I did not play the previous Warcraft games and didn't even know what the Lich King looked like. Also, why do we have spirits in WoW that can resurrect us, but the other heroes do not? Is there a lore reason for this or just video game stuff? Also, thank you for making me a moderator in your streams! I'm glad you recognize people who show up often! I didn't beg like Nomini did ;)
Kevin5264 we got those spirits as a game mechanic in fact resurrection on the lore is so hard that only some powerfull characters can do it, only very very powerful characters
Darin De Paul really did an AMAZING job with Blackhand.. Just awesome. He's super talented. Voicing amazing characters like Reinhardt, N'Zoth, Gallywix. And that skellyman from Apex. Oh and not to forget Ardyn Izunia from the FF15 game and movie.

Gul'dan, the Mythic Phase with Illidan and the entirety of the Nighthold Raid was the best Raiding Experience ever for me and also my very first Cutting edge.
The list of things garrosh did wrong is actually larger than the list of things he did right. His biggest mistake was to say "only orcs are the Horde, so screw all the tauren trolls goblins belfs and forsaken."

wondered as well, since the boros are not at all similar to garrosh
this video was completely badass, the cinematics and everything fit so well
Actually Hiru Kael isnt the only boss to be an end boss in two different instances in the same expansion. Anub'arak was the endboss for both Azol'nerub and Trial of the Crusader. Lich King as well.
Jayson Cruz But he was talking about raids
@@avekatten3207 Hiru said Kael was the only raid boss in two different instances from the same expansion, Anub and LK were too.
The depth in vanilla is what was awesome, the "in order to you need to" depth that could go down multiple layers and took time to farm that made obtaining something worthwhile
3:14 I might be misunderstanding this, but isn't that blatantly untrue? In Wotlk anub'arak is the boss of both azjol nerub and toc
There's also Helya. And Arthas and a minor Frost Wyrm appears in two differenct wings of Icecrown Citadel.
Lady Vashj was fantastic. I remember the night we got her down. We all went mental. Fond memories. I still have the mantle on my mage :) It took co-operation and I loved the differnt phases. Brilliant!

Your explanation on illidin story is much needed. I've actually argued those points with many people. It's why I read the books. To have a better understanding of the lore
29:21 yogg's blood in bomb form even makes the blizz servers crazy
Nice one ;-)
26:21 was this video made before Antorus? It talks about the Tomb raid being recent so I'm going to guess this part was made 1 raid before the second "forced death" during an encounter
Wasn't kael also in love with Jania during the Arthus book
Hillary trump yup
Hillary trump Your name and profile pic is horrifying lol
Jaron Sims lol thank you my good sir
he was in love with jaina even before the books were published. in tft arthas asks if kael is still mad that arthas 'stole' jaina from him.
This instance was true as of 2015
If you want to talk about the naming convention, where all Archetype cards share a name then the Alexstrasza archetype has been in the game since the second expansion, With Alexstrasza's champion being introduced in the "Grand Tournament" and being a dragon support card. if you want to talk about the open ended support the card grants the answer is simple, it's because Alexstrasza as a character isn't an isolationist character, she's a dragon aspect, of course her archetype is going to support other dragons.
12:43 OMAE WA MO SHINDEIRU

One more boss does this nowadays - killing you as a part of mechanic that leads to your victory: Argus.
Bro, because Lady Vashj is not a final Boss, and this is a final Boss top
@@luisf.r8146 he said "any", not "this". I agree with his sentiments about lady vashj. I think they eventually had to nerf her because most people couldn't kill her. I think the problem is that KT from the same raid tier overshadows her due to the cool weapon mechanic.
since when is vashj not the final boss of ssc?@@luisf.r8146
Listening to this as I drive and ironically it’s 15 years today since Onyxia was killed. Happy Anniversary you awesome dragon!
um, quick note the elves weren't dealing with the alliance of today, the "alliance" was really just garathos and the survivors of lordaeron, with help from some dwarves and elves (which he hated, and to be honest they let lordaeron fall apart during the plague and refused to help)
Although I can't say I agree with all your top 10 lists but you really made great videos to deliver the idea. Thanks for all the contents!
What the hell is this garrosh propaganda!
Pigeater Pig Garrosh for President
Theramore was a inside job
Garrosh did nothing wrong.
Garrosh is a true hero for the horde, a true leader, the only one that really put the horde in the place that deserved. What Thrall did to him is a shame and Thrall one day must pay for what he did to a hero.
KaazOfficial Still better than Trump. :P
Tiny edits that changed overtime with this videos info (not things being incorrect, just trivia that changed)
•Anduin became a HoTS hero thus making all HS heroes playable in HoTS
•Deathwing was added to HoTS and is built to just BE a raid boss (way more than Rag) and even though he’s pretty easy to kill he still fits the raid boss feel.
•Galakrond and his variants got added to hearthstone adding a whole ‘Galakrond deck’ archetype that stood next to C’Thun with cards dedicated too him
Wait... Helya is a boss you kill in 2 instances of the same xpac aswell! :O
yah I forgot about that
Teron'gor/Gorefiend too, but that's WoD and didn't really happen ;/
but in the dungeon, she runs away.
so you don't kill her till you do the raid :c
You don't kill Helya in Maw of Souls. But you kill Anub'arak both in Azjol Nerub and Trial of the Crusader.
Technically Helya in Maw or Soulds is like Lich King in Halls Reflection. Final boss? Yes. Do you kill him/her? No.
What's the music at 20:22? I know I've heard it before but I can't remember its name...
Could you please help me out and list all the music you use in your videos they are all amazing :)
And you get reputation with them minimally from quests and mostly from killing mobs on Molten Core
What a pain in the ass xD

kael'thas being the final boss of 2 instances in 1 expansion - isn't the Lich king technically the final boss of BOTH the halls of reflection and icecrown citadel? Anub'arak is also the final boss of both azjol-nerub and trial of the crusader.
Technically in Halls of Reflection you run away from Arthas not actually fighting him but yeah that works
the "run" is the final boss on HoR, Arthas is just there to scare the shit out of you on the first time =)
it's so much easier to brush up old content in comparison to creating new stuff and there's so many things everybody has missed out on
kaelthas is not the only endboss in the same xpac in 2 instances ...
-Anub arak in Azjol Nerub
-Anub arak in Trial of the crusader
:)
And the Lich King in Halls of Reflection and ICC
@@vorvanjguy3470 LK isnt an endboss in HoR
Isnt he talking about RAID bosses though? Are these 2 places raids? I forgot it's been a while lol
@@etiendre No, Kel is the endboss of a dungeon the second time.

Questionable things... like killing a prime Naaru...
excuse me, but Xe'ra had it coming for trying to force things on him. I may not like him, but he had a point there.
yeah I'm no fan of Illidan, either, but you don't try to pull that shit and expect it NOT to backfire.
Yeah, I gotta side with Illidan on that one. That really was just self defense.
He probably didn't need to go as far as killing her, sure, but still.
do u remember what song u used at 20:20 speech? i need to know xp
20:22 Wait, I didn't know Garrosh was affiliated with the Boros Legion.
3:14. Isn't anub'arak also Endboss of a dng and a raid in the Same xpack ? :D
kael is not the only boss that has been in 2 instances on the same exp, anub arak was the final boss in toc and in azhol nerub
Kael Tempest Keep, Magister's Terrace. Anub'Arak Azjol-Nerub TotC, Lich King Halls of Reflection/ICC, those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
4:25 Well we see floors collapsing in Wrath (Trial of the Crusader) and Cataclysm (Sinestra)
I didn't beg like Nomini did ;)
Kevin5264 we got those spirits as a game mechanic in fact resurrection on the lore is so hard that only some powerfull characters can do it, only very very powerful characters
i really loved the Gerash and his whole dialog, soo EPIC.
