    Wow this Kona is shockingly amazing for a sub-compact. I even prefer its interior versus the larger, more expensive Tucson. I'm also surprised at how feature-packed and upscale it looks. Struts for the bonnet which is unheard of for even compact SUVs. The amazing variety of physical controls with no touch BS. Great practicality and clever storage too. Also dig the new steering wheel, infotainment and gauge cluster. Also amazing seat adjustability and power tailgate.
    I am loving Hyundai's new design, both interior and exterior that started with the Ioniq 5. Looks like a massive improvement over their current vehicles. Very cohesive and sensible designs with great ergonomics and similar to Genesis. I am hoping the Tucson and their other vehicles get facelifts quickly, since they are already starting to look dated compared to the new Kona. I think the Tucson's touch only interior was a huge miss that they should try to change ASAP. I also hope the new Santa Fe will have a similarly nice interior like this Kona.

    When new KONA hits market it will double sales numbers in Europe. Design is really important

    • @stickygeiden
      @stickygeiden ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And price too. The chinese are way better than korea for this. Europe is hitted by a huge economical recession. People will now bought judging by the price first.

    • @professionalasseater2354
      @professionalasseater2354 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @nicktubby9710
      @nicktubby9710 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@stickygeiden taking into account resale value, Japanese, Korean and Europeans offer far more value than Chinese cars.
      Nobody wants a used Chinese car, they're so cheap and unreliable, you might as well buy a brand new one. So when you want to upgrade after a few years, the money you get back is far less than something reliable like a Toyota, Hyundai, or Volkswagen.

    • @stickygeiden
      @stickygeiden ปีที่แล้ว

      @@professionalasseater2354 in France the kona is not cheap at all, it's sold 10 000 euros higher than an mg4.

    • @stickygeiden
      @stickygeiden ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nicktubby9710 you live in the 90's bro. Chinese cars are now really reliable. And all the Europe will see it in the next few years. They are in total advance on EVs technologies. I drove BYD and SAIC cars when i worked in south asia for the last 3 years. And i had not a single fcking problem. Not one. Chinese cars are now like "on sold" cause occidentals like you see them as they were in the 90's. The resale value of new BYDs in Europe is as high as volskwagens just by the leasing estimations.

    Greetings from Australia. Like you we drive a Seltos GTLine 1.6T DCT and look forward to testing the new Second Generation KONA NLine in around June/July down here. We are impressed with the features that this new KONA provides for the driver both in comfort and vehicle performance. Particularly impressed amongst other features with the 64Gb SIM to capture recorded image of a “dash cam” function with easily identified access dates and time. We are waiting for your drive test of the NLine - is this still a probability soon? We like your presentation and like you sad to see the departure of the Stinger.

    I wish that Hyundai would set a universal baseline for their infotainment OS. I feel like there are about 5 different versions across the range and you get one of them depending on the model. I mean this software of this model (or the one of the Grandeur) looks already more modern that the one of the Ioniq 6 which isn't even released outside of Korea.
    @CarSceneKorea Is it possible to get some infos of Hyundai regarding this topic?

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Starting with Grandeur(limited to domestic market, Korea for now), Hyundai is now implementing an OTA service with unified GUI. The gauge cluster this KONA got is exactly same as that of Grandeur's, and Hyundai proposed that the OTA will be available across all the latest Hyundais to come. There might be a delay making that as a global standard due to many reasons that can't be listed here, but Korea got the head start, why not the rest.

    Now that I've seen the production model in full light with the full walkaround, the design isn't terrible. I still think the light bar is design gimmick and serves no purpose other than to scream, "We think this is the future of car design!" Not a fan of the size increase either Still think the front end is weird. I feel Hyundai is really wanting to push into the EV market as well as "futurist car design", so they designed all the Kona variations with this design instead of designing all their EV models along the same design esthetic and leaving the ICE/Hybrids with their own esthetic. Ultimately, I think Hyundai should just offshoot 'Ioniq' as their EV brand, like Genesis is for Luxury. Overall, I appreciate the video!

      Bold move indeed. There's definitely a pro&con implementing a unified design to every single car for that - using Hyundai's term here - Hyundai Look. They're just getting started, so let's see how they turn out to be. We have three cars with Seamless Horizon Lamp - first Staria, Grandeur(domestic only) and this KONA - and they all give very different sensation overall, I believe. Thanks for sharing your thought!

    This car seems to tick all the boxes, well done Hyundai.
    And many physical buttoms and knobs.... Yes please! Just check out that genius up and down temperature knob, instead of these touch - sliding - from - left - to - right nonsens stuff.
    Over all great looking interior. If not too expensive, it will be a hit

    I cant believe they don’t sell a hybrid Kona in USA . I loved it during a test drive, but didn’t buy it due to the gas milage…. I really needed 40mpg and an EV is just not practical for the long trips I drive.

    i much prefer the 2023 kona n-line body style tbh....the side profile of this 2024 looks very box like ...square on the back and the way the nose of the hood sticks out on the front doesnt do it for me.....sorry i know im in the minority but its just my first impression based on looks. i do like the spoiler tho 🤘

    This gives me great anxiety. I am think about replacing my Elantra Hybrid with an EV. Ioniq 5, 6, or 2024 Kona EV? Especially in US we don't get the tax benefit anymore. If priced right, this Kona is going to sell fast...

    Hyundai has been more reliable and JD powers puts them higher on vehicles with less problems.

    are you sure the trunk volume is over 700 liters? maybe folding the back seats....and if it is 30% bigger, it should be around 460 liters, right?

    • @CarSceneKorea
      @CarSceneKorea  ปีที่แล้ว

      723 Liters (based on SAE) is the number I have on the official report. I wasn't able to get a precise number on the trunk other than that, so decided to use it instead. I honestly don't know what SAE standard is exactly 🥲 It increased by 30% more than the predecessor, simply put.

    I noticed that when the Hyundai Kona N Line appeared at the New York Auto show below the front headlight was an incandescent turn signal. In other pictures I've seen the front turn signal is 3 frosted bars. I always thought that was real cool. What is the U.S. getting the incandescent or the horizontal bars?

    • @CarSceneKorea

      What was shown in the NYA would be what the NA and the US are getting. Specs differ depending on a country to another, especially with lights. I'm with you on that thought!
