If Hyundai would replace the high glossy ("piano lacquer") plastic surfaces around the buttons in the middle and on the steering wheel buttons with matt plastics (like it's used in other Hyundai and Kia models), it would make the interior much more pleasant. The glossy plastics can reflect the sun and you'll get fingerprints and fine scratches on it very soon. Then if in addition the NMC battery would be replaced with LFP, the car would be an instant buy.

I think more appropriate words to use for this model is Nimble & Agile with regards to handling and characteristics. Also certainly get's the High Smileage score that is so important for a vehicle today. BTW, I appreciate you taking the time to actually show the space inside (clutter-free) with shifter and seats down, I don't think anyone has shown it like that, helps to get a better perspective IMO. Sad;y, this is a "dream car" for here in Canada, we'll never see it, well not for a long time in any case and likely not at a pleasant price point either. Darn Shame, this ticks off everything on my check list very nicely.

@@mmuller2402 I definitely appreciate what the Inster has to offer. It’s just that the roads where I live are pretty bad and I wouldn’t want to get the Inster and get disappointed with its behaviour on the road. Other than that I have already asked for a preorder here in Greece!
Casper is a good name as well, perhaps people link it to Casper the friendly ghost en that might be the reason Hyundai didn't choose that name for Europe.
Minute 20:29 The car can do 450 kms on one charge? At what speed? But doesn't Hyundai say it runs about 355 km? How many kilometers have you covered with a 49kWh charge? By the way, what do you know about Inster Cross?
The real-world range differs and depends heavily on the environment the EV is being driven including the human factor. I want to say with confidence that all Hyundai Motor Group EVs provide better driving range than suggested ones found from catalogue - and this Inster is no exception. Inster Cross is coming to European market it seems, no details yet to be found except that I've posted on the Community.
Thank you for the great video. I find the Inster very, very interesting and it seems, the Inster is the much better Honda e. We currently still use an eSoul and a Smart ForTwo Cabrio, but the Inster could fulfill the purposes of both cars. I was also surprised by the sunroof. It's rare in this segment and for me it's a desirable feature. OK, rear-wheel drive and 50 hp more would be my dream ;-). Now I hope that the Inster will make it to Germany soon.
German here: not sure if I understand the question correctly, but the name Casper just reminds me of the cute little ghost. It’s a good name. Inster is weird by comparison because it’s not written with an a at the end
I'm so happy Korea has kept Casper as the name. I test drove the turbo Casper, and sadly, the power was the one thing that really let it down. Going up a hill, it just died, dropping down to the first gear, roaring it's little head off and going nowhere! I think this electric version will fix it's one (fairly major) problem. One question though, how is the suspension compared to the ICE cars? With such small wheels and light vehicle, the ice seemed to really HIT bumps in the road. I would guess with the extra weight, they electric would have upgraded suspension?
All valid points. Good that you did not drive naturally aspirated model😂 the ride is fairly different from the extended wheelbase to the weight of the vehicle, which also has to do with different suspension indeed. Better ride and upgraded ride overall.
I have a soft spot for smaller practical cars. Got my drivers license late in life so my first car was a new 2019 Citroen C3 diesel and I loved that car. It only had a 100 horsepower but it was enough due to the torque. Getting somewhere from 0 would be faster than most expected and it being a manuel meant that it always did what I wanted when I wanted. Now I drive a Seat Leon plug in hybrid. Much faster car, much nicer inside and out. But the automatic gearbox annoys me to no end, it is always confused because sometimes my driving style will change due to road conditions and the car itself feels soulless. So I've come to the conclusion that it has to go and I'm going back to what I enjoy the most, small practical cars that are cheap to maintain and since small diesel cars is not sold new anymore in my country(and I absolutely hate 3 cylinder petrol engines), this INSTER really has my attention and interest. My main complaint with EVs on the market has been that they were just wasting space and are to expensive. I think Hyundai will have a big hit with this car. I don't like the looks that much but the car does have character which is more important and the interior wizardry Hyundai has managed to pull off is amazing.
Not really, it is different kind of fun which hot hatches - i30N, Veloster N from the brand - provide let alone Hyundai cars. It is those weird sensation of you get from a tiny yet heavy and powerful vehicle with such body roll😉
We desperately need affordable EVs in Canada, would love to see Inster here. Kona electric was too expensive for us, but this one looks quite competitive and really close to Venue when all rebates taken into account
Hi there, end of the year the Hyundai Inster will be available in Germany for pre-order. I’m still not sure if I should buy this car or the Kia EV3. You mentioned that several other people face the same issue. So I thought, maybe it would be possible for you to show us the difference in a site-to-site comparison with both cars. I lack imagination, so the raw numbers do not help me, unfortunately 😅. Thanks for consideration and thanks for your great work so far, keep going 👍🏾
Hyundai Motor Group no longer has to do with cars from other brands. All of their cars are uniquely built by themselves, therefore the answer to that is a no.
Nice review. I don't see much difference between sport mode and normal mode. Is that true? Will the Inster be software upgradeable to version 2 in this first gen Inster in due time? Will it be OTA update finally? Can you show a demo of the turning radius? The camera doesn't look very high resolution. Looks bad on camera. Is that true? How is the ground ckearance? In the Kona and Soul the ground clearance is not great. How fast is usb A and C charging? 15-30-65-100 PD Watts? Will the Inster come with solar charging, like the Ionniq 5? I think a better name for the Inster wiuld have been Actor or Actro or EV1.
Zaczynamy od Europy (w wybranych krajach) i mamy nadzieję, że zostanie ona wprowadzona na szersze rynki! Starting with Europe - selected countries - and sure do hope it will be introduced in wider markets!
Greetings from Spain. This Inster is creating an unusual hype for a vehicle in this segment. The only thing missing is that the price is good and does not exceed, at least not too much, €25,000, since MG and BYD will be tough rivals. There are rumours that Kia is preparing its own version based on the Inster that could be the EV1/EV2. Any news? Thanks for the review.
Hello my friend! Please tell me when I can buy the Casper/Inster in Germany. Does the European version also have sliding rear seats? Will there be a German menu? Can I mirror my Samsung phone on the display? For me this is my next car. It is the best construction on the market. Thanks for this video! Kind regards, Thomas 😉😊
Great vid ❤ Because of your vid we are thinking to buy this car. Currently we are driving a borrowed Kia Niro EV. We were wondering if we are going to be dissapointed in the Inster. We know that it is not completely fair to compare these two but if both hit a road bump is there a huge difference in comfort between these two?
The answer to that is very subjective. At least the driver seat and the passenger seat i.e. the front row seats would not be all that different, however due to the wheelbase and the size of the car, including the wheelbase and the weight, the experience you get from the second real seat will vary quite a lot. Not to mention the trunk size too. Considering the price tag on two cars that ought to make sense if you do truly understand the characteristics and the traits of two cars. You will be satisfied with the Inster.
I've been waiting for this for a long time: I'd take it as a car subscription :-) :) 🥰🥰🥰😍😍👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 really cool car, ideal for parking in the city, where otherwise fat / big SUVs stand over 1.5 parking spaces and cause big+many annoyances... the insta would be perfect for city traffic :) Please as a car subscription in germany 🥰😍🤩🙏

A great test drive. Will book a test drive when the Inster comes to Europe.
You will love this thing!
I've felt that very much with my latest test drive with Niro EV indeed.
As a classic Beetle fan, this is giving me vibes.... but so much more spacious on the inside! I'm tempted
Great video! Hoping that Hyundai launches the Inster in India soon, would be a fantastic alternative to the Tata Punch and Nexon EVs as well as the XUV 400
이 미니전기차가 진짜 엄청난 행복감을 선사해주더라구요!! :) 최고입니다 ㅋ
진짜 타면 탈수록 말도안되는 어이없는 차였습니다, 물론 좋은쪽으로!
Side view is awesome.. nice practical car for city drive
We wanted one for the family. After watching this video... ¡We need two!
Send them to México.
✌️
Hello from London! I love your videos on the inster as it's probably going to be our first EV. It's crazy that small cars don't have the 360 camera and other tech even though they cost a fortune. You're lucky to get front parking sensors. So we're looking forward to getting an EV with decent enough range and the tech to make driving and parking a lot easier 😊🎉 Keep up the great work
More of that coming in the near future! Although the export models might not have everything I've shown with the domestic models, the day will come!
It is coming to Australia as well can’t wait to see it as I do work at Hyundai as well so will see it soon hopefully
NICE! This will look beautiful on Aussie roads!
Yeah it will and may be the cheapest electric car soon in Australia and I reckon my mum would like it more then me
@@masteradamscorch4272 This thing is truly adorable🥰
@@CarSceneKorea it is indeed can’t wait for it to come out
Wonderful news. Except for the NCM battery, I love everything about this mini EV. If price is right, this may well be my first EV.
I want to buy it ASAP!
You look extremely happy!
I sincerely was😉

Very much like your style of presentation. Very unique but clear and concise!
I'm humbled, thanks!
Thank you for this video!
Here in France, not yet a price has been done, but normally it would be near from the german's one.
Definitely kia and hyundai are now providing very funny and disruptive cars.
i like very much their modern designs, that stand out from the crowd.
From this all the way to IONIQ 5 N😎 The game is on!
@@CarSceneKorea sure!
Thank you for mentioning EV3 :) cant wait for a test drive in the UK! finally some high tech in the smallest segment.
You will love it :)
Ich freue mich auf die Probefahrt wie ein Kasper.
Sie werden es lieben!
You will love it!
Again very nice video! You got very nice view for details .. and tips how to navigate with the thumb 👍🏻 .. nice! I hope I fit in that thing with my 204cm .. gonna test drive for sure.
My colleague at Fully Charged Show - Jack, who is 198cm tall - fits okay on the second row seat :) Hope it won't be too bad!
Front passenger seat fold-down is an excellent idea.
Driver seat does it too!
I hope Hyundai is reading the comment section here, many in NA want this!
the loudest thing i heard there was everyone dropping their order of the much more expensive e-Honda (which has smaller range)
The fight is on!
Great review. Thanks.
Glad to see you back
I've always been here, I edited my wife's video🤣
everything under 3,9 meter , 350km range and space for sleep is a winner!
in german "Kasper" is often used to describe someone as a "fool" or someone doing foolish things/make a fool of yourself or look ridiculous.
This is what I've meant to share!
I personally feel like Hyundai and Kia are the only mass market car manufacturers in this world that actually makes cars that's practical and innovative for daily uses. I am a Hyundai owner myself and I must say I own a car from one of the best car brands in the world .
Well there is BYD but they are overhyped and they compare their prices in China which isn't going to work anywhere else.
Hyundai & Kia's years of experience with ICE cars also plays a big role in the era of EVs!
@@CarSceneKorea Exactly, and I hope that you get to review the Ioniq 6N too since the launch would be sooner, Let's see how well Hyundai brings it as a performance EV giving a tough competition to Tesla.
@@sprockkets BYD is good brand tbh considering its Chinese but they need to work on their brand values and yes pricing. In our country BYD is way overpriced for what they're selling. Still I prefer Koreans over Chinese
@@Punisher_19 I will test drive the IONIQ 6 N. It is currently the most sought-after car for me! :)
I hope the Hyundai Casper/Inster would bring the Philippines and also the Sonata Facelift.
Fingers crossed!🤞
Alright gets to know if it is a Philippine spec version.
Hello from Barcelona. This car looks so good.
Hello there 🇪🇸
Looks great. Hyundai/KIA/Genesis just keep on delivering amazing EVs (and ICE cars)
Nice presentation. May be, it would be my first EV here in Germany. Try to get one in 2026, short time used. Regards from Germany, looking forward...
Thanks for watching!
Could you give us an idea of the suspension system? Is it good with small cracks and bumps on the road?
Good enough given the car being. Not the best one from Hyundai, but much better than the ICE model, Casper.
The extra weight from the batteries does really help!
@@CarSceneKorea I wonder how it would compare to the Citroen eC3 here in Europe but I guess we have to wait and see! Thank you and I’m hopeful that you will do a test drive on bumpy roads and/or sandy terrain!
The c3 just has self adjust endstop so rebound and high impact on potholes is better, but would you sacrifice this interior for the plastic trash stellantis puts on the ec3? you should ask if the iron lithium cell on the ec3 is enough to justify the bad quality😢😮@@konsevdi
@@mmuller2402 I definitely appreciate what the Inster has to offer. It’s just that the roads where I live are pretty bad and I wouldn’t want to get the Inster and get disappointed with its behaviour on the road. Other than that I have already asked for a preorder here in Greece!
Thank you for the informative video!
Will there be a 5 seat version?
There is no mention about such, it is a 4-seater indeed.
big americans pickup truck did not sell very well these days i think the small cars wave will comeback !
The energy efficiency is extremely perfect. How come that much great 👍
Right?
I wish we had a vehicle like this in the US
Casper is a good name as well, perhaps people link it to Casper the friendly ghost en that might be the reason Hyundai didn't choose that name for Europe.
This car will be a huge success in Europe. Well done Hyundai 👍🏼
🤞Let’s go!
Casper was a little cute ghost in my favourite cartoon! Of course i prefer the name "Casper" than the "inster"😅 Love from Greece
Same here!🇬🇷
Hi from the UK, great review👍but how is the ride on rough tarmac?
More of that coming in upcoming vids!
I can’t unsee the Baymax eyes
Been waiting on the Ray in Europe ever since I first saw it in Korea!!
The current model won’t make it there unfortunately 😭
Perfect Car and good Price....
I like Casper as a name.
Awesome! so informational and personal! thank you. Mouli G Marur, Madras, India.
Appreciate it!

The car can do 450 kms on one charge?
At what speed?
But doesn't Hyundai say it runs about 355 km?
How many kilometers have you covered with a 49kWh charge?
By the way, what do you know about Inster Cross?
The real-world range differs and depends heavily on the environment the EV is being driven including the human factor. I want to say with confidence that all Hyundai Motor Group EVs provide better driving range than suggested ones found from catalogue - and this Inster is no exception. Inster Cross is coming to European market it seems, no details yet to be found except that I've posted on the Community.
Great little EV! If this is Hyundai's cheapest EV, I wish this to come to Australia AND New Zealand! We can use more variety of cheaper EVs.
Couldn't agree more!
Thanks for sharing! You will love it 😍
German here: not sure if I understand the question correctly, but the name Casper just reminds me of the cute little ghost.
Here in the U.S… might get me to go electric if they brought it here! ( midwest US awd too lol👍🏻)
They need to! Everyone would love it!
Ah, I find this comment to be nostalgic!
👏👏👏 We look forward to the video comparing it to the Kia Ray EV 😉😉

@@CarSceneKorea Yessss! 😁😁😁 I didn't know that you already did it 😅😅😅 Thank you very much, and right now I'm going to have a look at it 😍😍
Great review as usual! In your opinion, would you consider this as a hot hatch?
Not really, it is different kind of fun which hot hatches - i30N, Veloster N from the brand - provide let alone Hyundai cars. It is those weird sensation of you get from a tiny yet heavy and powerful vehicle with such body roll😉
@@CarSceneKorea thanks for that insight! gotta test drive one to find out that unique sensation is about! haha
It's practical with the switchblade rear seats
We desperately need affordable EVs in Canada, would love to see Inster here. Kona electric was too expensive for us, but this one looks quite competitive and really close to Venue when all rebates taken into account
Fingers crossed that the Inster finds its way to Canada. 🙏
EV3 is better and Inster is cheaper
I would go with EV3 unless you find something that is a must for you out of Inster’s traits, i.e., size, design, price, brand, etc.
Nice car - is it based on the Suzuki Ignis as the shape is very similar? Anyway, great little electric car - Thanks for the video review.
Hyundai Motor Group no longer has to do with cars from other brands. All of their cars are uniquely built by themselves, therefore the answer to that is a no.
does it drive well in uphill and downhill?
Yep, feels like 200ps - 250ps ICE car.
Google "EV1" and you will see it's taken.
There are differences between drive modes indeed, more of that in later video.
I would love to see a comparison review between the Inster and Renault 5
podoba mi się ten samochód , myślę że w polsce by się dobrze sprzedawał bo brakuje takich małych samochodów
Zaczynamy od Europy (w wybranych krajach) i mamy nadzieję, że zostanie ona wprowadzona na szersze rynki!
Starting with Europe - selected countries - and sure do hope it will be introduced in wider markets!
will it be available in the Philippines?
Korea and Europe for now.
Philippines have Infra structure for EV cars?? just curious.
if the inster can have an iihs 5 stars safety score why not in north america
Greetings from Spain. This Inster is creating an unusual hype for a vehicle in this segment.
The only thing missing is that the price is good and does not exceed, at least not too much, €25,000, since MG and BYD will be tough rivals.
There are rumours that Kia is preparing its own version based on the Inster that could be the EV1/EV2. Any news?
Thanks for the review.
I don’t necessarily go over rumors on my channel, unfortunately🥲
Hello my friend! Please tell me when I can buy the Casper/Inster in Germany. Does the European version also have sliding rear seats? Will there be a German menu? Can I mirror my Samsung phone on the display? For me this is my next car. It is the best construction on the market. Thanks for this video! Kind regards, Thomas 😉😊
It typically takes about six months for new models to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Thanks!🇩🇪
I'm looking forward to test driving it when it comes to Ireland. It'll probably be in the 25/30 k euro mark. Tesla and VW are definitely dragging their heels in this segment.
You will love it!
