I dont get why peoplle like green day. Linkin Park and Foo Fighters all day, but Green Day was good in the 90's, then it just started to suck with melodramatic songs that could hardly be called rock, even pop punk rock.
Daniel Enderica I’ll tell you why people love Green Day. They still have excellent songs, so many great albums and are one of the punkest bands of the 2010s
Yeah, they missed a ton of them. Hemorrhage In my Hands was one that really hit hard in the early 2000s too. And how did Boulevard beat out Wake Me Up When September Ends? Let me tell you, as a college kid watching my ROTC friends have their senior years deferred so they could spend 12-16 months in Iraq from 2004 to 2006 (some of them not coming back) that video and song is particularly poignant for an entire generation.
+MitchNin10dofan while the 2000s were still better than todays pop trash by miles, it still was a large decline of rock quality from the 1990s. the start of the end of rock music if you will.

After revisiting my childhood, i now realized how shit is today's music. Numb, chopsuey, last resort, in the end, Boulevard.. Mahn.. Right in the feels..
+Hector Ramos Jr. I think the 70s, 80s, & 90s are so great because the actual good music made it through the test of time. & you do know that rock references drugs and sex all the time right? Good luck finding a genre of any music that never talks about sex or drugs lol

+Bob Wesley Chop Suey was never no.1 on any billboard chart unlike Aerials..Why don't people just check to make sure there is a reason certain song is omitted.?
I think this list was a genre semantics based list. Cause that song was a metal song, which should qualify it for this list, but most of this list was more hard rock than heavy metal sadly. WM should still put some respeck on SOAD's name.
DeaditeWheatley Yeah, that list was hard rock and heavy metal. They probably labeled it as metal for that list, which makes your argument invalid and re-validates my theory that was also proven wrong by the fact that this never hit #1
SoaD is more rock than metal. "Nu metal" is not really metal anyway. It was more of a movement, but many bands like Linkin Park, and Limp Bizkit were much more on the rock side anyway. "Real" metal wouldn't be in this list. Very few metal bands would have made it to the radio, or mtv etc.
Everybody know that SOAD has to be higher than this. Where's BYOB? that song got in Billboard top 100, got a bloody grammy, and more importantly, SOAD is awesome.
Bring Me to Life was the biggest song worldwide of that year, but I doubt it was in the US. (I was surprised when I found that one out.) In The End is a good song but not the best... I can honestly agree with this list other than I'd move Boulevard of Broken Dreams up two spaces and The Pretender would be my number 2... Or one.
wow most of these bring back so many childhood memories, mostly my dad and I. I remember listening to these songs when going mini golfing, the mall, museums, water parks.... my heart...
I love Chester, Hybrid Theory was the first CD I brought, and the fact that he (and Cornell) isn't higher on this list is truly an injustice but the real crime against humanity is the fact that the Gorillaz made this list. At all.
I'm not saying anything is wrong with he song. It is just some of the kids in my band class went to marching band camp and learned how to play it. So they kept playing the song when they got back. The beat just gets stuck in my head, but i like the song.
Muse has only had 2 #1 songs on the Billboard Rock & Alternative Airplay which are "Madness" and "Dead Inside", but that were in the 2010's. Surely they would deserve a spot in this list if they got a #1 song in the 2000's
#7 is way too low for Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. It's the highest charting song on the Hot 100 out of all these songs. It's possibly the most critically acclaimed song in this song as well, won many awards and is just one of the most popular musical singles of the decade. Should've at least been in at least the top 5. Also in your polls, it was like #3 at the time of release.
Indeed, it doesn't deserve #7 because we we're talking about real music. I was surprised that I didn't see another song of them instead of BOBD. Also I was surprised to not see more RHCP Songs.

Dave Grohl. I was just poking fun at that. :)
Ya led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen, The Doors, Def Leppard, Journey. I could go on and even throw in Metallica, Guns N' Roses and even Nirvana. Those bands are all way better.

Chester Bennington’s voice is so lively, it takes me about 3-5 minutes after listening to linkin park to remember he’s gone. Despite the emotional and depressing themes of their music, I will always remember their songs on the radio while riding in the back of my parent’s cars, and going to the zoo or Toys R Us. ✌️

What the hell? Linkin Park should have been #1. Everyone knows that. And why wasn't "Crawling" included on this list? You guys have missed a lot of great songs!
Still here in 2020, so much has changed in rock music, with the loss of 2 legends of music. R.I.P. Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. 2 of the greatest vocalists we have ever had and will ever have in rock/metal music.
WatchMojo Logic: *Put In The End at No. 7 On Definers list and No. 5 on Charts list.* *Put Californication at No. 10 on Definers and No. 2 on Charts.* *Give Seven Nation Army Honorable Mention on Definers and No. 1 on Charts.* I am not saying that these positions are not fair, nor am I saying I don’t agree with a few of them. They just don’t make sense to me. And by your own logic, Mojo, this should be the list: #10: Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down #9: It’s Been Awhile - Staind #8: Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day #7: Like A Stone - Audioslave #6: No One Knows - Queens Of The Stone Age #5: The Pretender - Foo Fighters #4: Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes #3: Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers #2: In The End - Linkin Park HM: The Middle - Jimmy Eat World Hanging By A Moment - Lifehouse Ariels - System Of A Down (I didn’t spell it right, I know) When You Were Young - The Killers Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon #1: All The Small Things - Blink-182, as that also topped Alt Charts. So there.

I'm sorry, I'm a HUGE Adam era- tdg fan, and I have trouble not seeing how either I Hate Everything About You or Animal I Have Become weren't an honorable mention
Same here.
I am in love with Adam
Gavin Gunnoe I actually love Animal I have become for so long it has become sad.
I feel like green day should be higher up the list
snake Reynolds Green Day should be number one
Sameee and the middle belongs on this list
And feel good inc
Seeing its primarily a pop punk rock band, it hardly qualifies as rock so.... Its right where is should be.
Green day is punk
For me linkin park is number1
Damn, #'s 5 & 6 Chester and Chris are both gone, such incredible talents that the world can never get back. Along with Scott Weiland. And then Dave Grohl is in bands from numbers 3 & 4, crazy .
>insert joke about how the drummer from Queens of the Stone Age looks like the guy from the Foo Fighters and the drummer from Nirvana
+Alex Chen Haha, troll joke FTW
Yeah the nirvana drummer and the foo fighters sing look incredibly similar...
The lead singer of foo fighters and drummer is the same person!! Dave Grohl)
Drummer of nirvana
Michael Maley That's the joke
There's a lot of videos that have Dave Grohl in them, notably Foo Fighters, Nirvana, and Queens of the Stone Age live performances/Music Videos that have people in the comments that are remarking how Dave Grohl looks like... Dave Grohl. I was just poking fun at that. :)
Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and In The End should shared 1st place together. I mean Green Day and Linkin Park are best band of all time....
ariff najmie *cough* The Beatles and Led Zepplin *cough*
ariff najmie RHCP and GREEN DAY should've. Linkin Park isn't even close
led zepplin is overrated. ac/dc are better then them
ariff najmie I agree
Ya led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Who, Queen, The Doors, Def Leppard, Journey. I could go on and even throw in Metallica, Guns N' Roses and even Nirvana. Those bands are all way better.
Hope that rock songs will be played more frequently on radios today like it did back then... Totally miss it :(
Just saw Chester, Clicks the Video.
We miss you Chester Bennington
R.I.P. Chester Bennington
This list reminds me of when life is easy. Good memories. :')

Rockstar is from 1999, just a heads up
Between angels and insects.....
Disturbed is overrated dude
@@external_legacy9585 do some research into how many times disturbed reigned the #1 spot on the charts bro. Theyre rated rught where they deserve to be. Take your uneducated rock self on outta here
Don't expect Nickleback on any good list :)
Foo Fighters
Linkin Park
Weezer
SOAD
Audioslave
Muse
RHCP
Green Day
Best of the 2000s
I am a simple man. I saw Chester, I click
How strange that Chester Bennington follows Chris Cornell in this list, following the similar order in tragically taking their lives
Im from asia which is very far away from usa lol,
linkin park is most popular american rock band 2000s here
that's mean their fame and reputation cross a long way to asia. So respecful
The other bands is not so popular as much as linkin park here
Yeah make sense
What the hell? Linkin Park should have been #1. Everyone knows that. And why wasn't "Crawling" included on this list? You guys have missed a lot of great songs!
1 song per artist on list. Or 1 artist on list is how the Watchmojo system is so yeah.
The list is for legends....not GODS
@@salmanhaidr Boulevard of Broken Dreams>In The End
There are better bands than Linkin Park.
@@yourdaddyonceler1239 O deftones is a more popular band right🤣
Still here in 2020, so much has changed in rock music, with the loss of 2 legends of music. R.I.P. Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington. 2 of the greatest vocalists we have ever had and will ever have in rock/metal music.
Linkin Park - In The End should have been number one..
I kind of thought it would be. 😕
+Alicia Kistner-King umm nope hhahhaha
yes
+Zemus kek
+Zemus or numb
"Jesus of Suburbia was having himself one hell of a time on the concept album American Idiot."
tell me about it
Kinda coincidental and ironic that it was audioslave (Chris Cornell), then Linkin Park (Chester Bennington) on this list. May they rest in peace.
WatchMojo Logic:
*Put In The End at No. 7 On Definers list and No. 5 on Charts list.*
*Put Californication at No. 10 on Definers and No. 2 on Charts.*
*Give Seven Nation Army Honorable Mention on Definers and No. 1 on Charts.*
I am not saying that these positions are not fair, nor am I saying I don’t agree with a few of them. They just don’t make sense to me. And by your own logic, Mojo, this should be the list:
#10: Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down
#9: It’s Been Awhile - Staind
#8: Boulevard Of Broken Dreams - Green Day
#7: Like A Stone - Audioslave
#6: No One Knows - Queens Of The Stone Age
#5: The Pretender - Foo Fighters
#4: Seven Nation Army - The White Stripes
#3: Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
#2: In The End - Linkin Park
HM: The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
Hanging By A Moment - Lifehouse
Ariels - System Of A Down (I didn’t spell it right, I know)
When You Were Young - The Killers
Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
Sex On Fire - Kings Of Leon
#1: All The Small Things - Blink-182, as that also topped Alt Charts. So there.
