Loved it. The only thing I carry differently is a Travelon crossbody . They are thin, slash proof - zippers lock and RFID . I carry a big tote and put the crossbody in it. The slash proof strap in certain countries is fabulous .

I’ve found it helpful to pack my regular handbag in my suitcase to take out when I’m settled in at my destination. I just use a stylish backpack to have at my feet in the plane. Thank you for the tips!

When I travel I always wear a camisole with a built-in bra. It’s very practical for a tropical destination.

This was extremely practical and helpful. I layer, wear walking shoes, and tote a large carryon also. Thanks for making all your content pertinent, organized, and to the point. You are a great teacher.

I rarely travel by plane anymore, but I have my " plane ensemble " that I've worn every time and it's comfortable, yet a nice ensemble... black Guess Bootcut jeans, they have that little bit of stretch. I layer my clothing ( on the top ) with a camisole or nice tank. A lightweight but warm blouse or shirt and a mid lemgth cardigan or something similar....( or if it's cold weather, a coat ) Nice Wedge shoes ( mine are black patent, easy to wear, slip on and off. ) I always take a quite large tote, to put everything in ,even my small handbag.
I have a pashmina wrap , travel pillow, small makeup bag, facial water spray , and a change of undergarments. .. but, as I stated previously,.. I do the same thing when I'm traveling by automobile, as well... because it's important to have your items accessible and have what you need. 😉

Thank you for another excellent video, I learned to my own experience of not to wear light trousers while on plane after person next to me knocked over a can of coke which went down one leg of my trousers and they were full of apologies, next when coffee came there was some turbulence and I knock my own coffee cup over my other leg, you can imagine the state I looked when I arrived at my destination, fortunately it was on return journey and I was not arriving at a hotel. I have always chosen dark trousers since the experience.

Deirdre you simply are the most engaging fashion influencer I've seen. What a great video. We travel often as well and these are all things I already do however I take a small cross body bag that I put inside my big tote for the travel days. I like a smaller bag with me on holiday.

Thanks for the tips I also travelled a lot & I found out my feet swells a lot on the flight so closed shoes or trainers are impossible for me The other thing an open tote bag is not a good idea I like to take on the flights & airports a zippered tote bag to make sure nothing falls out I also like the carryon to have lots of compartments so I can easily get in & out some essentials I may need as an extra slipper wipes masks etc… Happy Summer & Safe travels

Closed shoes, or something you can wear a sock with is a must, in case they make you take your shoes off at security. And something I always pack; antibacterial wipes, and I wipe everything from the seat buckle, to the tray, any handles, like for the window shade, air vents. I’ve been doing this way before Covid, because I had noticed every time I flew, I would always get sick 2-3days later. Since I started doing this, I swear, it is the reason I no longer get sick..airplanes are germy places, and people can be careless, kids picking their noses, people sneezing, coughing.. lol people used to make fun of me, but after covid, I started seeing lots of others doing it now.

As a hospital diagnosed coeliac on a strict gluten free diet, i always pack gluten free food in my hand luggage. Airlines often only offer food which can make me ill if I eat it and like everyone else, I like to eat something on plane journeys. Even B A have fallen down on this. When we flew out to Bermuda on one occasion, we had requested a gf meal but it hadn't been put on board! That was one long, hungry flight... So if you have important dietary requirements, always pack an emergency supply.

Hi Lynn. Allergies are often an issue when you fly. I’m allergic to cow’s milk (not anything like as serious as your condition of course), but always a problem with airline food as invariably, the food includes cheese. Xx

I need a straw hat in the hot sun, but I like to support local businesses by buying a locally-made one when I get to my destination. Hats get crushed in luggage and are a pain to carry, as you say. Great tips, Deidre, and unlike some British folk, you know what real heat is from all your travel. I see some YTers recommending things like poly-lined blazers for summer day outfits, but that won’t work here in the 105+ F heat!

After once having an airline lose our luggage for TWO DAYS - I use my carry on case for 2 days of change of underwear, a dress, swimming costume, sparkly flip flops and shirt & trousers for hubby - always carry my meds in my hand luggage too. I also have a photo of my passport in my phone - as well as links to my insurance.

@@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre the other thing you have to be careful of with medication is they now advise you to pack it in the actual packets - not decant into weekly box things like I used to - I also take ‘spares’ just in case and a copy of my last repeat prescription - just as proof of meds if you have lots

  • @misslizinflorida

I'm a new subscriber so this comment is a bit late. I used to fly weekly for work. I would always wear socks with my slip on sneakers or shoes even if they didn't require socks. This is because airline security always make me take my shoes off at security and I didn't want to walk in everyone else's dirt. I would bring a baggie to stuff my socks in to place in my carry on after I went through security and before I walked to my gate.
For my personal item, I have a beautiful nylon Tumi backpack that I take with me. It has lots of exterior pockets to hold my headphones, sanitizer, tissue, hand wipes, etc. so that I could get it out quickly if needed on my flight. Of course, for work I could fit my laptop and my iPad in there too. This nylon backpack fit under the seat in front of me and was not bulky or heavy. If I needed to also take a carryon suitcase, I could fit my purse in the backpack too so that I only had two items to carry on the plane. I also always took my makeup with me because I have had my checked in suitcase lost for a day or two and I really needed my makeup the next morning. I didn't mind showing up in my same clothes to the job (excuse was lost bag) but to look washed out was not a good look for me.
Love the idea of applying hydrating face lotion on board. I never thought of doing this although I did apply some as soon as I got to my hotel because I have really dry skin. I'm flying to Europe this fall and again this winter so will definitely take some on the flight with me. Thanks for the info. Love your videos.

The tip to wear a print for pants was a good one. Never thought about that before, but you are right. Spills loose themselves to a great deal when wearing prints. All your tips were great. The only other thing I do is travel with a frequent flyer card which allows you to board first and often means an upgrade.

I have a travel outfit combo that I wear year round. Black, or navy leggings, and a tunic style top, with slip on style tennis shoes. I may wear capri leggings with a long t-shirt during warmer months, and full length leggings with a long sleeved tunic, during colder months. No jewelry, but a scarf if I want to wear one. It's extremely comfortable, yet looks pot together.

Good points. I always wear darker pants with some stretch. Comfortable but stylish shoes, anti emboli socks. I layer my tops and have a cashmere sweater and a scarf. I always take a pait of extra socks. Sometime security asks you to remove your shoes and you stand in your socks where a godzillion people have stepped. Then, when it is convenient, remove and discard socks you have on and put on the second pair you have in your pocket or purse.
