She, more specifically, spent most of her life trying to emulate nami because she was such a huge fan of nami from the very beginning. She said in the reaction to her scene that the scene in question was when she knew she was a big fan of the show, and then in later interviews, it was explained that she grew up emulating nami trying to get her friends to see her as nami. She was picked by the FANS, not by a casting director. That is the most important part about her.
Bo is kind of the worst weapon to use in a choreographed fight scene, as you have to be really careful, not to injure people. These mofos really hurt. She did a great job, but for some hits you can really see that they lack the necessary weight. Not her fault. You really need to have the choreography dictate camera placement to disguise that she can't really pull through. Honestly aside from some Hong Kong cinema, where, let's face it, they just took the hits, only "Le Pacte des loups" (Brotherhood of the Wolf) comes to mind for having a near perfect Bo fight scene.

as a fan of One Piece since 2010 theres a certain type of serotonin i've been getting watching people who've never seen One Piece before watch this series. Enjoy the ride.
In One Piece, those snails all have some telepathic link to each other that people exploited to make communication devices. Most commonly like phones, but not only limited to that.
The show uses a very conventional storytelling structure. This is a good thing. You understand each character and their motivations very quickly, and get immediately invested in the story without any real resistance. Everything gets explained right away. The sincerity of the characters in the world sells the suspension of disbelief easily. Sure there's snail phones, and weird colored hair, and stretchy guys, and dudes in zebra pants, but you accept it because the characters aren't making snarky sarcastic comments about it, they're taking it seriously so you as the audience take it seriously. I would argue this show fits very nicely into the New Sincerity cultural movement, which is a reaction to, and rejection of, the very cynical postmodern deconstruction and morally gray culture that's been pushed to the forefront by most media for decades. This show takes a clear moral stand, it's unapologetic about its positive and optimistic messages, and above all else it tries to entertain you. It succeeds because the people behind it actually care. There's nothing deceptive or subversive going on here. It plays things straight. You can trust it. It's simply good, and good for you. I became an undying fan of this show pretty much from the very first scene with Luffy, as he earnestly explained his quest. His enthusiasm is contagious, and I've caught it.
YEEEEESSS! So many "new" viewers are going into this story having never watched the anime or read the manga and are coming to the EXACT same conclusions, revelations and emotions to the world and characters we long time fans did back in the day! I'm so glad you enjoyed ep 1, it's only gona get better. What a fantastic job the team behind this show did. THIS is how you make a good but faithful live action adaptation of a manga (even though it isn't 100% accurate).
One thing the live series adaptation did needs to be pointed out; not only did it bring many One Piece fans out of the woodwork, new people are also loving it because at it's core it's very easy to connect with either it's premise or specifics like the pain the characters face. Oda sensei deserves it, masterful story teller. I grew up with One Piece among other manga and it's pretty much the biggest and best one out there while still taking you through a proper journey.
All in all, this Live Action is 2 things, 1. A Thank you to the Fans from Oda. 2. A properly executed way, to get those who otherwise didnt know the story, into it.

gum comes from gomu which means rubber in Japanese. so the fruit's name is the Gomu Gomu no mi aka the rubber fruit or the rubber rubber fruit. and welcome to the One Piece/luffy effect

I knew I would love your video as soon as I heard the pen click. I suck at taking notes, but as a very hyper-analytical person, it’s my favorite type of reaction. Like the way my brain works out on paper lol
The emotional optimism definitely is the Luffy Effect. He's one of the most hopeful Shonen Protagonists. Not only is his story about "Im gonna be the greatest ___ ever!", his whole ethos is "My crew is my family and my friends are my allies; and I'll do anything to see them achieve their dreams as they would for me."
If you see Zoro put the black bandana in his head, it means it's time to get serious. The snail that you see is called "Den Den Mushi", they are a species of telepathic snail that serves as a means of vocal and/or visual communication across the world. The outfit of Den Den Mushi are often customized to signify their owners. Also Zoro eating that food on the floor is different when you watch the Anime (Episode 2 - One Piece).

Most people's excuse for not watching one piece is because it has too many episodes but now that it is adapted into live action, even non anime fans can watch this one hell of a story
Loved your reaction! This is exactly what we as One Piece fans wanted from this live action, to get people into this world (which is amazing!) - can’t wait to see your reaction for the rest of the series!
Fantastic reaction! I am loving watching people react to One Piece that have no history with it. I’ve been watching the anime for just over a year with my son and we’re just about half done with what’s out so far. Best anime ever.
As manga and anime fan I love the live action all of them have a bit different to each other. One Piece no matter what it is will always be my favorite. Oda was involved in this Live action which is the manga writer. Plus Matt Owens one of the show runner is a fan and if they didn't know all the cast and workers became fans. The Inside story trailer of One Piece show you that. Yes poeple say the anime has pacing issues but I am rare person who doesn't think so, yes there are some parts I like more then others. In the live action they do reveal something that doesn't get reveal until later in the anime but it still good how they done it. Hope does confused you but when they say Monkey D Luffy is because they put the last name first which they do in Japan and other places. So if I was living in Japan my name would be Turner Marie Tracey-Anne but because I live in Australia it wrote like this Tracey-Anne Marie Turner.
Your definitely gonna love the whole season. Hopefully after you watch the anime. You won't regret it. Would be fun to see you see all the differences from the East Blue.
It's great to see someone new to One Piece enjoying the live action adaptation! Subscribed and looking forward to your opinion on the rest of the season.
I really love this live action adaptation. They captured fantastic the spirit of One Piece. And the casting? FREAKING AMAZING, Iñaki Godoy is truly Luffy in real life. Also I don't think it's ever stated anywhere (not even anime or manga), but Devil Fruit powers affect clothing and weapons. I think everyone at first thought "oh well, this doesn't make sense, but I get it for convinience reasons so characters don't rip their clothes to shreds everytime they use powers and be naked more than half the time" (I know I did, so I didn't mind). And it probably still is just that, but since it's been always consistent throughout all Devil Fruit users, it has become an actual feature that anything in intimate, close and/ or prolonged contact with the users body will get affected by the Devil Fruit power. Welcome to the fantastic, wacky world of One Piece where almost everything is possible and great reaction!
we broke the Live Action Curse!! One Piece the KING of Shounen, the greatest modern epic of this generation, please take your time if you start the anime, prepare for a show that will BREAK you
So happy you started the journey! Consider this series as a long trailer or the original material (manga/anime). If you liked this, you'll LOVE what the creator initially made. :)
You’re the first reactor I’ve seen who noticed how the snail phones matched the outfit of the owner 😂😂 it’s a small nod to the anime, but I haven’t seen anyone comment on it
Loved your reaction and that you take notes, shows that you care about what you see. I'm a long time manga and anime fan and I really this show, it stays faithful to the source though it makes some changes but those changes are sometimes better than the original. You don't have to worry about spoilers, people in the One Piece community are good with not spoiling, that said, it's very easy to spoil yourself by stuff online even if you're trying to be casual about it as I have personally experienced.
Welcome aboard the One Piece journey. I hope you stick around because it is going to be one wild ride of adventure. The live action is good but there was alot of things cut out due to budget and episode count restrictions. Still, the cast and crew got the feel right for One Piece and that is what is important. If you ever get into the anime or manga or even if the live action gets to it at some point, a lot of the scenes you see in this first episode will be expanded upon later in the story and that’s when you’ll be deep into the One Piece lore. The live action is just barely scratching the surface of the story. On to season two!!
The Sheer amount of Manga Chapters and Anime Episodes scares alots of people ... but This Adaptation exists with only 8 Episodes to give NEW Viewers a small taste and.. as a Long Time One Piece fan , I am absolutely happy that this Adaptation exists .. I love to see new viewers loving our Straw-Hat Crew
The Strawhats personality were toned down a bit… They feel like a real life people… but still they capture the spirits and vibe of the characters, but some, they are actually very very accurate.
I started watch this show with meh mood and a bit pesimistic. Turns out... it brings out all of the emotions I've had. I laughed and cried a lot during the season lmao
why did Zoro bring Mr. 7 to the bar freely? because Mr. 7th or member of Baroque Works on the navy wanted list and wants to exchange for bounties or money with the navy "Dead or Alive"
Oh yeah, btw, devil fruit powers are automatically imbued into whatever they're wearing, idk how far the live action will stick with that, but that's the canon for the anime and manga. Oda just casually decided it to be so, so that he doesn't have to worry about their clothes tearing and having to draw them fight naked. That's why the hat doesn't take a dent while Luffy's wearing it (or any of his clothes and accessories)
People into depressed media look at OnePiece and say we are adults now..but only after watching it, they feel like its a part of their life they were missing so much. Oda himself wanted to have fun and that reflects. Its like the World in its current state..needed some OnePiece.

Oh how how enjoy when they pull out the pen to take notes 😂
forget taking notes, you'll look crazy with walls full of notes
Fantastic reaction! I am loving watching people react to One Piece that have no history with it. I’ve been watching the anime for just over a year with my son and we’re just about half done with what’s out so far. Best anime ever.
I am really liking a non-manga/anime reactions. It is a true test if it is a good adaption. Us fans really like it, but we will be basis
Please do more! You are already one of my favourites reactors
First time watching. I'm gonna need a link to those headphones and the nail polish, please. lol Looking forward to binging these reactions.
Don't worry, there's actually more supporters who liked it since the full trailer than hates it. Maybe you just got the wrong news. It's TOP TIER!
This show is beyond wholesome and sweet❤
Your definitely gonna love the whole season. Hopefully after you watch the anime. You won't regret it. Would be fun to see you see all the differences from the East Blue.
Emily Rudd kills it
Love seeing how much joy u had watching... certainly gained a new subscription from me. Looking forward to more reactions 😊
"I wanna see Shanks fight"
Get in line pal LMAO
Shanks will be the final boss in order to test Luffy in 1500 episodes 😅
It's great to see someone new to One Piece enjoying the live action adaptation! Subscribed and looking forward to your opinion on the rest of the season.
Been a big fan of One Piece for years the live action was really really good. Hope you enjoy it 😊
Exceeded all my expectations
For more wacky pirate shenanigans I recommend "Our Flag Means Death"
One Piece the KING of Shounen, the greatest modern epic of this generation, please take your time if you start the anime, prepare for a show that will BREAK you
Luffy is literally a little crack head that shows up and causes chaos.
I’m always onboard to see a new reactor or newcomer to anything
One Piece but especially the live action
So happy you started the journey! Consider this series as a long trailer or the original material (manga/anime). If you liked this, you'll LOVE what the creator initially made. :)
You’re the first reactor I’ve seen who noticed how the snail phones matched the outfit of the owner 😂😂 it’s a small nod to the anime, but I haven’t seen anyone comment on it
I love this reaction from someone who never seen the anime. I’m so jealous of you but happy too.
One piece fans are loving it too
"There's too many names"
Hehe
Hehehehehehehhehehehehe
love your reaction💚
The One Piece fandom is really chill so don’t worry and enjoy.
Just get ready for a lot of them to tell you to watch the anime lol
Loved your reaction and that you take notes, shows that you care about what you see. I'm a long time manga and anime fan and I really this show, it stays faithful to the source though it makes some changes but those changes are sometimes better than the original. You don't have to worry about spoilers, people in the One Piece community are good with not spoiling, that said, it's very easy to spoil yourself by stuff online even if you're trying to be casual about it as I have personally experienced.
I never knew anything about this and now I'm obsessed😂
great to see you loving this as much as i did.
One piece is such a great story that even a live action version made by Netflix of all things turns out to be pretty good.
Yeah there outfits change just like it does in the source material pretty often I appreciate that detail.
Told you so! One Piece is a good show!
Congratulations OPLA for surpassing record of stranger Things 4 n Wednesday became no 1 Netflix show in 84 country. Good job for the achievement
i loved people who didn't watched the one piece anime and interested to watch the one piece live action. i want season 2 of this. loved it!!!
The Strawhats personality were toned down a bit… They feel like a real life people… but still they capture the spirits and vibe of the characters, but some, they are actually very very accurate.
I would recommend getting a moderator to avoid spoilers
coby is literally the cutest baby on earth, I need to PROTECT!! also, get ready for sexy ass buggy ❤
I just found out about your channel, really enjoyed your reaction❤. Keep the good work😁✨️
I started watch this show with meh mood and a bit pesimistic.
One Piece is pretty crazy, it's the third best selling illustrated work in comic book or manga form in history only losing out to Superman and Batman.
Alvida's ship is called the miss love duck.
ONE PIECE REACTIONS EVERYDAYYY PLEESSEEEEE😭😭😭
People into depressed media look at OnePiece and say we are adults now..but only after watching it, they feel like its a part of their life they were missing so much. Oda himself wanted to have fun and that reflects. Its like the World in its current state..needed some OnePiece.
He reminds me of Jeremy from the British show "Peep Show".
