So far so good! Let’s goooo
the scene where luffy cut his cheek is canon MANGA ONLY, you guys never saw it cause you seen anime only. Alot of the scenes in the Live Action gonna follow the manga cause Oda's direction.
the scene with Mr. 7 happened offscreen in the anime but Zoro did mentioned he was contacted by Baroque works to join during Whiskey Peak Island. The big difference is.... Mr 7 is officially supposed to look like some sort of George Washington looking dude, but Oda originally designed him to look like the guy you saw in this live action. Also, Mr. 7 wasn't supposed to die here, so they changed that.
@@tanvu2728 They did put it in the anime during marineford flashbacks. Episode 487
Or maybe it was the east blue special. idk if I'm mixing that up
After Zorro cut up number 7 i was thinking the minority hunter strikes again.
MR 7 was the agent who tried to recruit zoro he was never seen in the anime but zoro mentioned beating him , so its actually a dope use of mr 7
That zoro intro was straight fire
Shows that the people in charge know what they are doing
@@msm_14What do you mean, every Zoro scene is fire
@@user-lq4ct6dr5m yeah you are right
But that intro made an impression
The last candle being blown and mr 7 parting ways with his lesser half is permantly stuck in my head
@@msm_14 Yeah, that one is great
But the part where he fight marines in the bar Without his sword drawn out is dope as f
They never watch the anime i guess 🤣
The stabbing under the eye was in the manga also and the zoro vs mr seven was a SBS fight oda told us about he had before he met luffy
It's in the anime too when we get the flashbacks during marineford. I think like episode 487
Mr 1 also mentioned that when he met zoro
Zoro said so in whiskey peak, when they wanted to surprise attack them, he said " when I was in your line of work you people tried to recruit me, I turned you down"
People disregarding early arks😂😂😂
@@gamingtime1784 If i remember right it wasn't shown in the anime until levely / revery arc. Until then it was only shown in episode of luffy and episode of east blue
saying "not my luffy" after something that literally happened in the manga is crazy
They don’t read the manga bro only wellz does and he didn’t read until dressrosa
it was in the anime too

@@christianephrem160 1 time anybody could forget that
@@christianephrem160 I did cause ion even remember seeing it

21:43 You gotta remember that when Garp was first introduced in the anime/manga and we didn’t know who he was aside from just “A Vice Admiral”, he was also depicted as mysterious and eerie, we never saw him as the fun-loving, free-spirited guy we know him as today until it was revealed that he was Luffy’s grandpa
Exactly
The guy who was trying to break the donut eating record and skipped sleep, got cut, fell asleep and woke up asking if someone got hurt. Very Eerie
Yea they trippin. You were spot on
😅 the anime did not add the cover stories of the manga. So the first time people saw him in the anime is when he was revealed as Luffy's Granpa sadly
@@Konvict689not at that point yet gang we still gotta get koby under training first
Guys nami always could fight like that. Its just that she is fighting normal people. Later in the series shes reliant on her weather stick cuz the people she facing could smash literal houses with a breeze
I mean she can literally kill this no name's
Yeah they forgot A LOT about early One Piece judging from this reaction
exactly. i remember syrup village she was boxing fr but people forgot i guess...
Yeah, she was trained by the Fishmen. She is pretty strong.
@@navalhabr yeah that got over my head
Fyi, the reason he stabs his face at the start is actually in the manga too. It’s to prove his seriousness about being tough. It also is a great intro to Luffy as a characte; he’s stupid but strong and determined
True. It's also in the anime too. These reactors just weren't paying attention
I’m honestly so happy that they changed a bunch of things in the live action. Even though it’s telling the same story as the manga, it feels like something brand new!
I agree, also makes the story more digestible for new viewers.
Right I was worried they were gonna keep it the same cus if so I wasn’t gonna watch it I’m glade they changed it makes it feel like ur watching a different show
it honestly feels like Oda’s early drafts of op. like maybe that’s how he originally meant for the beginning to go
only minor issue I have is axe hand being more evil sort of sets up koby and himpleton or what ever the guys name is arc.
I hate how rt tv laugh off moments like luffy stabbing himself and Zoro fighting Mr.7 just because its not in the anime. These are clever winks to the manga.
You all don't know how luffy got his scar under his eyes? Thats how it is 😂😂
Edit: i think it just shown in the manga
Im pretty sure it was in the anime too.
Got animated during marineford flashbacks. 487 pretty sure
Literally in the first chapter
Literally Luffy's first panels
@@piput8533They don’t read manga and Wellz started the manga on Wano Country.
Zoro mentioned in Whiskey Peak, the town of the bounty hunters when they meet baroque works agents that he had received an offer from them before in East Blue by Mr 7 but turned it down. They just never showed it in the anime and manga because it was before he met Luffy and was tied up by Morgan.
;)
I'm pretty sure that it was also clarified by Oda that Zoro killed Mr 7 after declining his offer.
They wouldve realized if they paid attention 💀
@@zhanayathomas2993LMAOOO
😮
They finally managed to break the anime live action curse. PEAK PIECE never dissapoints🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Crazy that it's One Piece too
No kidding. I am still furious over how bad Cowboy Bebop's adaptation was - that one really hurt. But One Piece is probably easier to transition because it's so goofy and fun (the least scary pirates outside of Veggie Tales) - and it looks like they did a great job.
Facts so far it’s great and hopefully they have great success with this live action so we can see the most hype moments to come
@@DripJambeyeah fr.. enies lobby will be 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You’re late. Bleach and JoJos actually had good live adaptations already.
Helmeppo was actually lowkey my favourite character in the show, and the scene of him stomping on the little girl's riceballs did not disappoint lol
Agreed as soon as he came on screen you could tell he's a great actor. I could really feel the character from his performance.
to me they are portraying GARP as a badass because they dont want new viewers to know who he actually is. i believe as soon he introduce himself as luffy grandfather the goofy side will appear
Yeah, just like in the source material. That's the crazy thing, people are acting like Garp wasn't portrayed as a big mean mother hubbard before we really got to know him.
Garp's first appearance in the anime was in the Coby and Helmeppo cover story. And the official presentation was near the end at Water Seven.
i bingewatched 8 episodes way too quickly it's soooo freaking good
Me too
Just finished it, what an adventure
Watch it again but with either the your favorite food or their favorite food it makes your food taste way better
it came out yesterday and bro finished
I'm watching it again in Japanese, and let me tell you, it's on another level of good watching with subtitles. I'm probably gonna watch it in Spanish next, too, since Inaki does the Spanish dub for it, also.
The part where luffy stabs his eye is in the manga but was never adapted to anime. Also if I remember the mr 7 part is canon
there's an anime version of it where luffy stab his eyes
The very first one, right? The movie
Im pretty sure ive seen it in the anime
Got animated during the flashbacks at marineford around 487
Yea this is true
Zoro is a menace even in live action as well. That was badass af.
I have a LOT of nitpicks, but nothing i hate, this might quite possibly be the first good live action anime adaptation
I don’t know why people keep saying this. There are definitely a few other good live action anime adaptations out there. Alita battle angel was great. Also all of the kenshin movies. The only problem is there are more bad adaptations out there that out weigh the good
Only nitpick I have is no Luffy punching koby scene. Other than that ep 1 was great. It's an adaptation not a remake so I'm okay with a lot of the changes and pacing 🔥
Rurouni Kenshin
Bakuman
Boys Before Flower
City Hunter
That all 10/10 adaptation of animanga that I've ever seen.
@@VikaBoko All those you mention can easily be made into live action because there is no flashy superpower.
That's why this OP la is a big deal. Not many people talk about alita because it isnt as big as OP, Dragon ball.
@@giuseppehead8033Luffy slaps Koby though in this episode?
in the manga/anime, when he's about to fight Mr 1, Zoro does mention that Mr 7 from Baroque Works tried to recruit him long before he met Luffy, but Zoro refused and killed him when Mr 7 attacked Zoro. Later, we finally do get to see a Mr 7 who tries to bomb the Alabasta plaza from the city's clock tower, but he's a different and new Mr 7.
@24:00 Garp and Roger had an agreement, yes. And Garp saying "You did this to yourself" is literally what happened. Roger DID turn himself in and Garp DID tell him not to do it. The playful Garp came later in the story so no problem with it to me
I don’t watch or read one piece. But even I knew how Luffy got his scar.
I got my mom and brother to watch this and they love it. My brother said it's way better than he thought it would be and wants to start reading the manga. This live action converting people to the glory of Oda Sensei's writing.
my sister as well 😂 glad to see this live action works well to people who haven't read or watch or even know One Piece!!
@@kanomee Right!
Been trying to get my brother to read and watch One Piece since 2001. I'm just glad he's finally gonna start reading it. It took him till his 30's, but he finally got the spirit!

Watch the anime instead of manga. So you get the music, sound, dialogue, tone , the whole full emotion

@@trieule7158 I've watch it without nitpicking and I ended up enjoying it.
This live action is actually more faithful to the manga than the anime is
Watched the whole show. It was sooo good, I felt all the one piece emotions🥹🤧
They did a LOT on this first episode, and imo, aside from Kobby, nothing "felt" rushed to me. It all flow naturally. I'm in. So far of course.
That final scene with buggy bro was perfect i started chanting Buggy like 20x
The combo of stunts, practical effects and cgi is well balanced. I look forward to the rest
It’s crazy because after finishing the show i’ve started watching the anime from scratch and when Zoro goes up against Miss Wednesday/Mr 9 and baroque works, he mentions that he had heard of their organisation and been recruited back in the East Blue, it’s crazy the amount of easter eggs and plot they’ve put into this first season. Really loved this adaption, probably one of my favourite things to be adapted! I feel like you guys are gonna love the rest of the episodes.
"not my luffy" and it's literally manga luffy chapter 1 💀
Finished season one and it impressed me personally, Character pick up, animation, direction and everything over all are so realist to anmie. So much In love.
8:10
"Why'd they add that?"
They didn't. This is an adaptation of the manga I believe, not the anime.
They gave us a scene only mentioned in the anime which was mr 7 asking zoro to join baroque works. I like the inclusion. Shows they’re ambitious seeing as alabasta saga would likely be season 2
Just finished it myself. This is the best live action anime of all time, the 🐐 Oda made sure they did they're thing. Season 2 gonna be dope
No way! A one piece reaction without Rob in it🎉🎉 this might be the best one piece reaction video on this channels
Rob deadass lives rent free in y’all’s head💀. He never hated on any character and was the most excited one for this show.
@@DripJambe He may be the most excited but he's literally ruined so many great moments purely because they featured Zoro.

@@Dwhite690 I’m rob for saying the truth about how the group of rttv parasocial fans hate on rob for anything he says or does ever?
I feel like they’re holding off on leaning into the Garp silliness until we get the luffy grandfather reveal
Well, yea, because that's when he became goofy in the manga/anime! Right now he's just a typical marine. That was the entire point in the early manga. To be fair, episode/chapter 1 is like what, 1000+ in the past lol but still. This is EXACTLY how Garp was in the early times.
@@XBitX Yeah for sure, I think a lot of people just haven’t watched early one piece in a while and forget how the vibes were at the start. Garp was veeery serious in the few times he did show up
That's wrong lmao
You guys need to reread...
Garp was never like in the show, they changed him too much.
Later on he will laugh tho
Luffy stabbing himself in the face to show how he’s not scared of anything has always been shown in both the manga and anime. Also, Zoro fights Mr. 7 before the series even starts and is only mentioned in a conversation.
Mackenyu, who played Zoro in ONE PIECE, played Enishi in the Rurouni Kenshin movie. Great action. And I think Rurouni Kenshin movies are the funniest action movies in the world.
and they are a great adaptation too
The way they introduce buggy was the best they could've ever done.
i love how yall are having fun with this.,.. straight from the first episode! This series is already doing it job in making people smile
I love how they introduced every pirates with suicide squad style but better with the wanted poster, and how they just swipe the poster 😁
Sad that Robby wasn't here for this 1 in a life time moment in reaction history but atleast we have Patrick.
Just finished the first episode. I absolutely love it. It has some tweaks but manages to stay true to the manga and story.
They did an amazing job. And the casting is phenomenal. All actors are doing a great job. Really couldn’t imagine it any better than this.
The scar scene is actually cannon
For starters, this is hands down ONE of the best adaptations out. And for the people complaining about story pace, what studio is going to do a one for one of an adaptation? So of course they have to condense the story. But NARRATIVELY, it makes sense. If I'm not mistaken, Garp was present at Rogers execution. The conversation Garp and Roger has about Ace was the right before the execution takes place. True he was never on the platform according to the anime, but him being there instead makes sense. And Luffy scar was covered in the anime too.
I think its a misdirect with Garp. He’s set up as a Villain but turns out to be a Goof.
*THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!*
just finished the last 2 episodes and mygod I'm actually in tears!
THEY DID THIS SO DAMN WELL!
I think with grap your supposed to be scared of him at first but then when he meets up with luffy he changes his attitude so it has a More dramatic difference when he meets Luffy
That's so wrong lmao

"why'd they add that??" "explains the scar, we never got context on that"
Thats.....Thats literally in both the anime and the manga bruh. Thats a very famous manga panel.
Damn I love it and honestly I’m a huge fan of the manga. When I saw that Oda was part of the project I knew that it was going to be great !
We definitely got context on his scar. He scarred himself in the tavern next to shanks to prove he was tough lmao. It was when we saw him eat the fruit in the flashbacks at marineford
One thing to remember is it’s mentioned in the anime that zoro was approached by baroque works before he met luffy but it was never shown also in the manga they have that scene of luffy stabbing himself but they didn’t show it in the anime
It's so good even though they made a lot of changes. The changes suits well for the live action.
Exactly! I was just discussing this with someone and they were very disappointed and angry that this had a lot of changes and they want it to be a 1to1 adaptation. Like the reason why most people liked this live action is because it’s not 1to1 adaptation and it would certainly fail if they did that. I personally liked the changes, there were some changes i was a but confused about and this is not perfect but overall, it’s a pretty good adaptation and a faithful one imo. I have my own nitpicks but it doesn’t make this a bad show instead i'm very happy they changed stuff because this shows that they’re not trying to be the anime/manga, but to make it its own thing and i'm very happy about that.
@@igoonx15Zoro (a pirate hunter) doesn't know who shanks (a huge pirate) is...

This made him seem even cooler off rip imo
I guess nobody has seen the Rurouni Kenshin films (which the actor who plays Zoro play a villain in the 4th one) cause this is not the first good live action anime adaptation. But this is the first good live adaptation that Netflix has done though. Can’t wait to watch the rest of the season
Exactly. People are forgetting about or haven’t watched alita battle angel as well
alice in borderland also best adaptation by netflix which surpassed anime itself
yeah but borderland and ruroni are pretty grounded in reality, while one piece is on of the goofiest anime with a bunch of abilities, so in my opinion this was way harder to adapt
No no..rurouni and Alice in borderland is pretty simple..it can be make as live action and be successful..but OP with the devil fruit and stuff?that's hard and they nailed it..I think that is the reason why we said it broke the curse..remember DB live action?yeah
Are people forgetting something? Edge of Tomorrow?
While it wasn't a 1:1 retelling, it IS based on an anime/manga, and it IS an adaption, and it did REALLY well.
Overall , the show itself for what it is is pretty dope.. they found a way to condense the episodes while still making it fun and enjoyable.. and Buggy understood the assignment!!! Just got to Syrup Village last night, already love Usopp’s character. He too understood the assignment 🙏🏽 can’t wait to watch the show with you fellas
Mackenyu, the actor who plays Zoro, doesnt fuck around. He did all of his own stunts along with most of actors in this. But the man knows how to use katanas mainly becuase he was in the live action Rurouni Kenshin, which if youve seen it, youll know has crazy ass fights
I mean the story is basically the same, Garp was exactly like that until we actually get to know him until post Enies Lobby. Shanks actually looks very accurate, that's exactly how he looked at the beginning before Oda changed his design. There are a few things off like I didn't like that Koby didn't tell off Alvida himself or when Luffy fights Koby in front of the marines to show him a lesson of sticking up for himself. Other than that, it's pretty good, I like how it feels like it's own thing, it doesn't really feel like the one piece I've grown up with, but that's alright, it's good. We'll see how the rest goes
Yeah the only thing i didnt like is a lot less character development for coby, and also I think luffy should be goofier so hes closer to his character in the anime
The fuck?
Like when he slept in front of Morgan, got cut and let him escape.
Then he woke up and asked what happened 😂😂
Yes very shadowy and not goofy at all 😂😂😂
I swear you guys need to reread from chapter 1...
It's ok to change things but only for the better (the mr 7 scene was almost perfect), but this show changed the manga in worse
5:06 Crocodile is the crowd right before the pan to Shanks. Only she is not a man yet.
Subscribed cause i liked the vibes 🥰
personally i think they’re gonna have garp be serious and villain like and then have him meet up w luffy at the end of the season and let him go and that might be when he switches up the vibe to be more laidback
Mr. 7 was mentioned by zoro in alabasta arc
Zoro Mentions in Whiskey Peak that Baroque Works tried to recruit him once, and that was Mr. 7 who went after him, plus later on their fight Mr. 1 mentions that Zoro killed one of their executive members, that being Mr. 7, it didn’t show the fight in manga or anime, but they mention it, I liked that they put it here
11:14 it happened in the manga and anime, in the anime it was a flashback at like marine ford
Ya'll enthusiasm and Netflix trailers about to officially get me into this show...gyyaaaaaDAMN thats a lot of episodes/chapters but that gear 5 looked FIRE, and now the live action got my interest....here we go.
Aye mane this heat 😂😂😂 gimme season 2
definetely solid first episode im super excited to see how this series evolves
This live action actually is done so well I'm so happy 😢
The stab on the luffy's eye part is actually in the manga an the anime too.
everyone remember to be respectful Q_Q its been a minute for some fans having seen the show or manga, and they might not remember things that were canon but also small one of lines. love the reaction guys!~ im going to be watching this at least 30x today between all the reactors. (you guys were my 2nd watch) hope yall enjoy and people chill with raging

The contrast of garp is part of the appeal. I think the eventual reveal that he’s luffys grandpa will be way funnier since we are focusing on the serious marine side.
Ngl thumbnail is so fire bro❤🔥
There was a flashback telling us that baroque works tried to get Zoro.Luffy scar scene happened in anime
8:07 they didnt lol. Thats always how he got his scar
11:13 WE DID!!!!!!
hope rob is all good prayers to a speedy recovery brother 🙏🏻
The mister 7 part is canon it’s mentioned by Zoro that when he was still a bounty Hunter one of their numbered tried to recruit him but he rejected.
They showed Roger being stabbed the same way in the anime.. It was just later on. Either in Loguetown flashback, or maybe it wasn't til Sabaody.
It's funny when a live action adaptations knows more about the manga than some fans kkkkkk
Mr. 7 and zoro meeting was mentioned in the anime in the arc they met vivi. Right when he was about to fight 100 of crocodile's members
Keep your ears open whenever they are in makinos bar in the shanks flashbacks 💀🐳🎻
We know Garp a lot from his interactions with Luffy in which he is goofy. However, he is pretty ruthless with peep he has beef with. I think it sets the tone better for later when we get those interactions with peep he is in good terms with.
About Mr 7:
He was mentioned in episode 116 of the anime, by Mr 1 and Miss Doublefinger when they talked about how the first Mr 7 was killed trying to bring Zoro to Baroque Works, but he never appeared in mangá/anime (We only see the next Mr 7 but he's a gag character)
And the visual of this Mr 7 was only roughly drawn by Oda in One piece SBS 36. Oda answered questions from the readers in every SBS and they asked about the old Mr 7.
So it's cool to me that they actually stuck with the original design from the SBS 36
The best anime live action since Rurouni Kenshin !!!!
y’all forgot a lot of things and saying “that’s not right?!?”💀💀 if Oda himself was looking over every episode then he obviously meant to leave it like that.
So from what I heard Mr. 7 is from a cover page and they brought him to life just to get bopped by zoro lol and Luffy stabbing himself did happen like that. I'm sure it just got explored in a special episode.
It's actually from an sbs not even a cover page oda even did a doodle of Mr 7 and he looks identical
Not even a cover page, Mr. 7 was only ever mentioned never shown, but Oda did a hilarious stick figure concept art of him years ago...
Her cups ain bad is crazyyyyy 😂😂😂
Early on, Garp was a mystery vice admiral and somewhat serious. We didn’t even see his face early on when he acted like this. The Garp we know doesn’t reveal his real personality until he catches luffy and says f it im not catching my own grandson.
Apparently "his Luffy" doesn't exist because every luffy I know gave himself his scar under his eye.
if yall would pay attention just a lil bit more in the anime some of these scenes would make sense, like in the anime we do see luffy stab under his eye but you guys thought it was new and added only to the live action
i love how they make luffy put food in his pocket
I love that here we have a lot of mentions and scenes only known by the ones who attentively read the manga
thing with Garp that I will say, is they want Garp to be a villian early because "you dont know" that Garp is related to luffy yet
Why isn’t garp Brazilian liek luffy? Why am I the only one acknowledging this?
@@21mob56 Curious about that as well, but then again people kept telling me that Brazilians are white people so maybe he is just Brazilian with a different accent, or maybe his mom is where the Brazilian blood comes from?
Best live action anime of all time 🔥 the 🐐 himself Oda chose these actors and they all look amazing and Garp and shanks looks good bro lol Garp doesn’t seem as a villain we didn’t know his personality until way later on and Oda changed shanks design later on as well. Oda definitely did a amazing job with the cast🔥🔥🔥
Luffy cutting his cheek, Zoro killing mr. 7 before he meets luffy and Morgan "capturing" Kuro is actually manga acurrate
Mr 7 was drawn in sbs And even mentioned in manga one time
The part where Luffy stabbed himself in the eye it was in manga too.Garp is still a Marine , they just tried to show how some marines can be terrifying. Garp being with Roger was really cool.
Interessting that you didn't even know Luffy stabed himself under the eye. How did you think he got the scar. But it's okay some of the things was only in the manga.
No this was in the anime did y'all not remember 😅what
@@itsDjjayy It was in the anime, but first way later with a special episode that was a retelling.
I know yall have probably gotten Hella hated on in the comments but some scenes yall don't recognize are iconic shots from the Manga
