You have to bear in mind that as an air-cooled bike trying to achieve Euro emission standards the V85TT is extremely restricted especially in the entire exhaust system, not just the CAT because there are also extra CAT's also in each down pipe. Replace that with an unrestricted Arrow collector and unrestricted Can, then cut a hole in the air-box lid which is chocked down to a tiny inlet slot, remap it and I am extremely confident it will produce at lease 90BHP. I have heard claims of over 100 BHP but that is a bit optimistic in my view but 90 BHP is well within reach.

I did this with my 2021 Centenario including Upmap ecu flash. The difference was immense, like a new engine. At first I had wished for more power for overtakes, not any more. Feels way more alive, response amazing and also runs much cooler. I did all the upgrades recommended on the guzzitech forum, v85tt e5 performance thread. With new lithium battery and gtm exhaust, the bike is 40 pounds lighter. It's the ultimate all rounder bike.

I just bought the standard V100 in red last week. It is an awesome machine (and my dealer was including the panniers for free!). I'm in a fortunate position to be able to afford it, but I'm sure I would be just as happy with the V85TT if my budget was smaller. Both are excellent machines.

I love the air cooled motors, although euro5 is a bit of a bore, but upmap will sort that out. And I’m just not interested in a bike that feels better at illegal speeds. These are completely different machines with different price points so "better" is completely subjective and based on the user's preference. I just bought that same V85TT and I'm really loving it. My buddy bought the V100 S and he loves that for different reasons. I chose the V85TT because I like doing off-roading and it was in budget. Here in the States, the V100 S is about $4k more than the V85TT. Cheers!

I own both these bikes (the V100S only for a week now but absolutely loving it) and I would say (1) the use case for each bike covers different enough purpose that having both can make sense, except to the wallet ouch. (2) The V85TT is a better machine to load up with "big" touring stuff like camping gear etc and if you're camping the light off road makes sense. (3) I lay the V100S rear seat on top of the V85TT and I think the V100S is ever so slightly bigger, but I'm not sure how that feels sitting on them. The V100S rear is definitely higher compared to the front. (4) The V100S' urge to GO and amazing brakes are really, really significant. The V100 Stelvio may change all that...

It all depends on what you like. I'm thrilled with the smoothly balanced riding experience with my V85 travel. I've had MUCH more power and one finger retina detaching brakes. It was exciting at first but overall more tiring and less fun on long rides. My V85 is the most enjoyable bike I've ever owned. Engineer brother tried the new Stelvio and he much prefers the refinement of his V85. And if you habitually ride in remote areas where there are no services like we do; the 23 L tank is a big deal.

I have the Guardia D’onore V85tt. I absolutely love it. Super comfortable, super reliable, an adventure best of burden and more than enough power. Most of my GS friends here in the US don’t even know Moto Guzzi exist and of course they say it doesn’t have enough power, or Dynamic suspension, or a quick shifter, or TPMS or it doesn’t ride directly to Starbucks without needing a rider (😂😂😂 innocent joke) and one thousand other perks. For all of this I have my tiger 1200.
Most mainstream riders will never get neither the brand and much less the bike and they have a point regarding how different this whole experience is and how far behind the the KPIS (key performance indicators) are compared to the traditional ones (BHP, Torque, Electronics). This is perfectly ok: to each their own.
So yes, ultimately this is about a personal choice and it is a very subjective matter. The very reason why I have the Guzzi is precisely because it’s quirky, it’s precisely because it’s personality, it’s because the brand and the cult it represents speaks to me in a way that it attracts me. If you have a Moto Guzzi V85tt (specially the Guardia D’onore special edition of which there are only 1946 bikes made) it’s because you definitively are not a “normie” and don’t care about conforming. To those that are watching this in 2024 and are adventure riders, do try the Stelvio with the same engine as the V100 and it’s an awesome bike as well.
As for the V100 Mandello and V85tt comparison, two totally different bikes, entirely subjective as well. Both Beautiful and both very Guzzi. So.. you can’t go wrong!

Great video. The pricing between the two is huge in my area of California. I am seeing new V85TT’s base prices as low as $11k U.S.. The lowest base price for a new V100 S I see is $17.5k. So, they aren’t really comparable in performance or price and the price variance supports that. The good news is that there are many of both bikes available for immediate purchase in my area. The TT in V85 TT stands for Tutto Terreno. Any terrain. I don't have to explain what Travel stands for. It is therefore a rather obvious conclusion that the Moto Guzzi V 85 TT Travel is a more travel-oriented version than the V100.
I can asure you that the V85TT is powerful enough for its duty. I don't need extra power. The V85 engine has a great flat torque curve which makes it great to drive.

Honestly it really depends on your needs but I find the new mondello hard to understand. It triest to be something between a sport and a tourer bike, but its nothing at the same time. I guess it is for those that like a one day trip kinda thing. The V85tt is a true tourer and its got plenty of power. Where I could see it struggle is if you are a bit overweight. For me at 70kg this bike flies! So much torque and it gets up and goes I can keep with most anyone and rarely have the guts to max it out. I like the sound it makes too. The only downside I have is the front face of the bike which is not fotogenic at all. From a side angle though is the best looking tourer imho.
