Jeff is obviously a fan. Recognizing the tip of the cap to Float and previous years material all the way back to 2000, 1995 and earlier .... good for him. I'm glad the judges are well educated in the history of DCI. I wish more of this for the new fans. There is a lot of great stuff out there that reaches back 50 years and much further. GO AND LEARN!
Cavaliers come full circle in how they won their first drum title in 1992 to this one. It’s by a very strong front ensemble. So fitting as they did a retro show.
Sounds to me a decent amount of ticks just didn’t get called, some pretty obvious ones in the quad feature as well. When you could actually hear the battery in this tape, here’s everything he missed. 4:18 Spock attack 4:23 Spock eighth notes 4:28 7 stroke roll up the drums 4:29 Spock Grandmas, instantly gets credit 4:40 2 spock re-attacks were out 4:50 “So smooth, exceptional” 6:00 isolated doubles 6:14-6:18 Generally very grey, lots of individuals 6:27 left diddles on one of the puddaduhs 6:35-6:40 talks over drum feature 6:47 Backsticks 10:31 Release of triplet roll 10:33 Left hand open doubles/triples
DCI is always looking to hire more judges! Clearly you have better ears than the experts do. Looking forward to hearing your commentary on the top groups at Prelims sometime soon!
@@grosspercussion A good quadline but I wouldn't say they raised the bar. I feel like they lucked out compared to how good the snares, basses, and FE were.
Jeff Brooks cooking the guard members for telling him to go to the sidelines is comedy gold
Standing on business!
I don’t think so 🤣
I wish they would put judges back fully on the field so that they can hear everything judging isn’t really fair then in my opinion
@@KingNeptune05what a legend fr lol

Pretty amazing that Jeff looks like Julie Davila.

@@chrisgaray87 Seems like sometimes they’ll hire whoever they can get!
Ok sorry but… back away from the mic just a little
Judges wear an earpiece microphone
That quad feature was not clean
Lol not sure what you’re hearing

This was also the prelims tape. That would only mean they cleaned it up before finals
@@christianhaile5588 The clock is ticking from Prelims to Finals
Close but not good enough… it has been this way for years
