What's the issue with the Left Hand???+ Funny Stories| Left Hand voicings

Hello Thembelihle, my jazz piano playing is always me accompanying a singer.This is without any other musicians. I usually play bass in the left hand and chords in the right hand. Like you said the bass is often 2 feel or walking bass. I use the bass to keep a good rhythm as well as playing the lowest note of the chord.

I have heard pianists/ keyboard players playing too much in the lower register of the piano/ keyboard which sometimes can be unpleasant to the overall sound if there is bass player involved. I'm generally referring to Pop music, gospel e.t.c. Nonetheless, all your points are valid. Thanks

You can definitely play bass notes in those genres. It's moreso if you are waaaaay down in the left register, then it sounds like another bass in the mix. Even with that said, with good timing, it can still sound excellent.
