Brian, I don't usually say much on these, but on your IDP at 11:34, the lineman are on the 30 when the pass is released. If I am seeing this correctly, the LOS is the 31. I don't think this should be a foul for Ineligible downfield on a pass. Just one man's opinion. Your information about the clock was spot on.
@@briandow2974 I actually noticed that watching it back as well (our crews game). Hard call because the ball goes past the line of scrimmage and typically those middle screens are designed to send OL to second level and catch the ball behind LOS. So when the RB and the ball go beyond LOS it’s natural to think Ineligible Downfield. Tough call but definitely a great one to review with the crew.
Great stuff as always, Brian! Found this channel doing my pre-season prep, and I know it'll be a staple of weekly/pregame film review going forward. Cheers from VA for a safe and successful season!
Brian I have a correction towards your first intentional grounding video/example. Rule 7-5-2 exception: 2C states, the passer is the only player to possess the ball after the snap ends is the only player who can intentional throw into an area not occupied by an eligible receiver. I believe the video illustrated a double handoff which make it illegal for grounding.
You state the rule correctly however we cannot penalize a passer for starting his motion then getting hit and the ball going in a place which isn’t in his control. We have to judge the entire action not just where the ball ends up.
Just a reminder that the option for the offended team to have the clock start on the snap applies to both live and dead ball fouls including non-player and unsportsmanlike.
Great job again 👍🏽

If that is the case then I was incorrect and it should not have been called. Incorrect call for me!
@@WPIALFootballOfficials I've made the call incorrectly more than I care to admit.

@billyb60046 do you then have OPI on the slot receiver at the top of the screen?
@@ab5879 I think the receiver is trying to get past the D so I don’t think this is OPI.

Thank you for the kind comments. Best of luck to you and your crew this season.
16:51 idk
I agree. Video is not detailed but looks like a block in the side/shoulder as the defender is turning toward the runner, which is fully allowed.
