Grish. Was one the best boss I had. I worked there while I was studying. Unfortunately I had to leave due to family split due to covid and had to help a friend out his Nana passed and my partner and I had to help them out with rent. While I was working there grish and his wife would go out their way to drop the workers off home because they thought it was unsafe to walk home by yourself at night even if it wasn't very far. Or if it was pissing down raining. His wife would work at the back with us. She was very kind. Sometimes the bouncers or the staff from the Lawrence group would get free food from them at the end the night. Because he understood how stressful work late to early morning was.
Now that's 500% compassion

My best guess is that it's a caste thing??? So many non Indians just see Indians being "racist" to Indians, and get mega confused, by caste discrimination is actually a big issue in nz. Most Indian business owners here are higher caste, and a small amount either don't hire lower caste Indians, or hire them and commit legal work violations (occasionally you'll see worker exploitation stories in the news and people get confused because both the owners and exploited are indians).

The last eight years Indians and Pakistanis treat Nepalese like slaves, some of the Indians are quite rude to female managers and others only work hard under an Indian/South Asian manager. I also think it’s an age thing too, some of the ones that are in their early thirties are just empty heads when it comes to common sense things.

Taika Watiti is my favourite director and just person to see in anything right now, I just recently watched What We Do In The Shadows, and have also been binging the TV show since that and loving every single episode lol (I know that’s less NZ, but it’s still directed by Taika, and him and Jemaine, and even Jonathan Brugh make occasional appearances)
