I had to come back to Flying Whales eventually! There's a few differences from my original cover that I picked up from various live performances of Gojira so this should now be pretty accurate. Most of the time both guitars are playing the same thing but there is the occasional harmony in 3rds.
There's a few small details which are up for debate as how they play it live is very slightly different to the album version, for example the gallop section sounds and looks like single notes on live performances but sounds like 4ths/inverted power chords on the album version.
Of course I had to add some whale sounds for the intro too

I started playing electric guitar last year. At that time, I couldn't even imagine playing the intro of this song. Now I can play the main riff very cleanly. I get an orgasmic tone with my tube amp and Empress pedal. The main riff is really fun to play, I love it. I hope one day I can play Opeth songs with their weird chords as well. But I need to get out of my comfort zone first 😁

I am planning on doing a tribute gig of Gojira with my band next month, and your videos have been a huge help with figuring out how to play these songs! There are tons of tabs out there, but they differ a lot between one another and sometimes just don't sound correct at all. Your tabs however are great, and your videos fun to practise along with! 6:25 Hi! I love this one... Can you make a short tutorial about how you take the pick in the "Pick Scrape" sectrion? I know how to make the sound but I have troubles with the pick because some times I can t change the angle of the pick fast enough... then the pick gets stuck between the strings...

I'm a total noob and I'm wondering what "with old bones" means with your Dean Cadillac select? If I want to play like Gojira would this be the guitar you recommend?
Old Bones Pickups are a brand of pickups.
I like my Cadillac a lot and this one plays well. Other guitars are suited too though, as long as it's got a good set of humbuckers in you should be able to make it work for Gojira!

That's it. Someone pointed out a few details I missed and after checking them I went back and edited several parts. Couldn't knowingly have a video up that had several parts that were a bit off. Also slightly tweaked the mix. Hopefully it's okay now 🤞
