    I’ve been so interested in this route, so many thanks for posting. And FYI, Honolulu airport is normally wide open. That’s actually what it’s known for.

    Interesting that Hawaiian Air flies from Austin. What about Houston or Dallas? Or San Antonio? I’m fascinated that Hawaiian flies from Boston too. Will they ever have a flight from Syracuse or Rochester NY or out of Scranton PA? Probably not

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's more that Austin is an untapped market for flight to Hawaii. Before their route started, passengers had to fly to a major hub before going on to Hawaii. Now, will they ever start a route from any of the other major cities in Texas? I don't know. It's certainly possible, but they would be competing with the other major US airlines on that route.

    Thanks for sharing and a great new trip report channel I stumbled on! At 3:50, i believe this is a option by the airline as thy order the aircraft, perhaps they could retrofit them as time goes on? I know some people just turn the air vents off because of how much air comes out of them but I too would love to have air vents whenever im flying!

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for stopping by, and I'm glad you enjoy the content! When doing research while writing the script, I came to the same conclusion you mentioned here, which is that it was a choice by the airline. I always get a little toasty when flying, so it would've been nice if Hawaiian chose to have them installed.

    Sadly Hawaii is the one and only state in the Union that doesn't have a commercial freight railroad any longer, like the Lahina Kanapali and Pacific that used to haul sugar cane. Hopefully one day that could change.

    Did you like the big island? How much extra do they charge for extra space? Wow a lot nicer than UNITED or American who serve zilch!!!

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The big island is incredible. We did everything from snorkeling to hiking in Volcano National Park, and all of it was amazing. There's something so peaceful about the whole island that you can't find anywhere else. As far as price goes for the extra space, the price varies depending on how far in advance you book your tickets, but Hawaiian's website says anywhere from $80-100 extra for the space for flights on this route while booking a month in advance. I say go for it if you can, the extra leg room is awesome to have on long haul flights!

I leave on sept 23. I just need to find awnsers. If I dont have my flight ticket then do you think I can go to the airport and they can help me with it?

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there! I'm sorry this is happening to you. Unfortunately, I never had any issues like this, so I don't have any clear solutions as to what would be the best course of action. I recommend contacting Hawaiian Airlines ASAP so they can get it sorted before your flight. Your best bet is calling their customer service help line tomorrow during business hours, as they will probably be the best way to get assistance immediately. You might be able to go to the airport and see if they can help, but there's no guarantee. Hope this helps, and I hope you get to make it to Hawaii!

    Will Hawaiian Air ever fly to and from London or any other destination in Europe?

    • @LonestarTrips
      @LonestarTrips  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think they will. Hawaii's location makes it difficult to fly direct to Europe without making a stop somewhere in between. Granted, there are airlines that fly routes to Europe, but competition is steep on those routes, so they're likely better off sticking with routes in and around the Pacific.
