Thanks so much for this video! It greatly helped me in changing my spark plugs, which was tricky on this bike. *Excellent tip on using the wire to pull the spark plug boots! (I don't think that I would have been able to get them out any other way). Now time for reassembly in reverse order!
What you referred to as the first oil breather, is actually the PAIR hose that goes to the exhaust manifold. That's the line that you need to block off when you tune the bike, so that the fresh air from the airbox that it is putting into the exhaust, doesn't throw off the dyno readings. You can cap that off or jam a marble in the hose to disable that, but do NOT block the second hose on the back of the airbox. That is the actual oil breather line coming from the crank case...
@@motosolutions540 My R1 has 18K with stock plugs. It's been doing this thing for a while where sometimes when I come up to a stoplight and I pull in the clutch and brake/coast it will shut off. It starts right back up and it doesn't happen if I engine brake. My local shop said it was my clutch but I don't think that's right, I haven't had any shifting issues.
Plugs should be replaced, and check the sides of coils. If their worn they can arc against cylinder head.could be air leak, but sounds like a typical yamaha tps or other sensor
@@Damitsall known problem on r1, I've had it happen on 3 different r1 models. The problem actually seems to be fuel. A good way to fix it is a proper dyno tune. All 3 of these bikes I've had were bought new.
Yes same, only difference between m and s and regular is hard parts, rims suspension, carbon bodywork, computer. And the S doesn’t have titanium valves.just take your time
Very simple to understand. Thanks a lot . I did it whitout any mistake.

Hey, thank you so much for the great detail in your video.
Got the job done on my 15 R1m.
Running crisp, but still have a subtle misfire at idle.
How did you fix the misfire?

Thank you! Appreciate start to finish and insightful comments and tips!

Hello. Great video. Which are the correct sparks plugs, Lmar9e-j or CR10ek?
chuecops lmar9e-j on the 2015 r1m
Moto Solutions Thanks
Do you think the bike could get random shut offs from going too long on old spark plugs?
Not really, sounds like secondary butterflys or tps sensor
