The battle sequence feature is a great start. I could see third parties changing the game by reprogramming EVERYTHING so that the blades can interact with each other. Imagine two Artsabers with new tech that would allow clash patterns to match with another blade. The lights and sounds would react accordingly with another. Proximity sensors to distinguish how bright a clash flash would be, etc.
Good review. I did the preorder a few months ago on this one and it shipped immediately. It’s my first black series saber. I do enjoy the features and the sound is a little low but not a deal breaker. Thanks
Hey, Obi-Dad. I actually asked Disney about the loose blade on my Savi's Workshop saber, and what was explained to me is that it allows for dueling. If the blade was rigid/has no wiggle room, it would break. So definitely, if you don't plan on dueling, tape trick all the way.
I agree, although, a small amount of soft packing tape I don’t think would be the difference between injury or a safe Saber. I encourage all my viewers to lightly play fight with them and enjoy them, however wires are have been notorious for becoming detached from there soundboard components. 🤷🏼♂️ thanks for watching bud

I actually got the black series saber for only 40 bucks back in 2016. I was so lucky. Also bought many sabers for insane prices at Walmart back in the day.
I actually used to own the original Master replicas Darth Vader lightsaber and recently picked both of these up for pretty cheap. $180 for Black series force elite and $140 for the Galaxies edge. One thing I felt like was happening when I hit the blaster effect which I now think is actually built into the way the thing works is that once the button is hit 1 time then when you swing it seems to do 4 to 5 times if you keep swinging circularly. Probably will mess with it a bit more but so far that seems the case. I agree with the couple criticisms (not loud enough and also flash on clash is WAY too sensitive to the point that it messes the experience up a bit). LOVE the videos generally and look forward to more.
The big decider between FX Elite and Legacy for me was down to one thing; the ability to slot in a Jaymoo's Playground custom blade. It brings the Legacy hilts beyond the one-blade-only FX hilts with a bright, smooth unpixellated blade that flickers. And there's far more legacy hilts in the catalogue than FX.
So, I bought the Vader black seriers elite at a lot less and I'm definitely happy with it as a Vader fan as far as replicas come, I love the Empire strikes back version because I absolutely despise the clip next to the activator. If you look around you should be able to find it for 200 even though it just released not too long ago.

Interestingly, the Force FX Elite version is based off of its appearance in *_The Empire Strikes Back_* - same as Galaxy's Edge. While the original Black Series release was based off of its *_A New Hope_* appearance.
@@FindingTheForce personally the return of the jedi version is interesting as it is basically a highly modified graflex. It’s featured in the battlefront 2 darth Vader as well.

Yeah.. I try to mention in every video with a red light saber that it often looks a little orange in the middle just from the camera. If you wait for the footage I took of it in the dark I tried to capture the bright red color.
So I just picked up the Elite black series off of EBay for $210. I somehow got the Kyber to turn blue. Don’t see anything in the booklet about different colors.

I'm a bit suss on all these Force FX and Black Series Hasbro sabers. It's not much more for a good 3rd party Neopixel replica and their features, smooth swing and sounds are so much better.

For me as a Canadian I got this for exactly 300 cad normally it’s 430 here and I’m not going to Florida anytime soon but even factoring the conversion plus shipping this is actually cheaper then the galaxy edge
Regardless of your intention, be it for display or casual "play", if you were to only purchase either the Elite or the Legacy, which one would you purchase? I am on the fence with these because I REALLY like the Hasbro stand, but I think the retaining ring and the side screw are both just unnecessary. I like the easy concept of just insert and twist to lock in the blade on the Legacy. The Vader bundle is currently on shopdisney. But I also have the ability to pick up the Elite for around $160 after using some rewards points.

Hey Padme, great question. They are letters that were originally on the handle of an old camera flash. I think they are camera terms like B is for brightness.
So, this is based on the rogue one variant of vaders hilt. Since everything disney tries to release is original to what they do since after the merger. They end up not having to pay royalties to georges previous work. So this is a replica of the rogue one prop but i cant seem to understand why they left off the clamp lever. Its like they mashed ESB hilt and clamp and RO riveted grips. So strange
Obi-dad, HI. I have the 2005 ep5 Master Replicas in chrome, I'll try and answer your questions as I watch. That huge pin in the ignition button, I've never seen 1 so big, mines flush on the right with a small washer and tiny cotter pin on the left. I also have no grip screws.I think someone messed up your emitter as mine is not cocked to the side. My 05 MR has better swing sensitivity than my GE also. My MR also has the flash gun letters and wires. My MR's blade is only half as bright my GE saber. On the video your older black series blade doesn't even look like it's on, I can see the Black Elite though. Don't need battle mode, but ok. Thx for Kevin's info, I was really kinda kidding with you. I use ebay. BTW, I like your 89sabers Luke ep4 saber on the top shelf by his helmet. I just received my a few weeks ago. Thanks for the review. When the Galaxy's Edge sabers came out I went nuts, it was the first series to have all removable blades. Bought the Jaymoos blade you recommended. Then shifted to LGT'S sabers and finally 89sabers. And I love them all.

I have the Master Replicas Darth Vader Episode IV and Darth Vader Episode V lightsabers. The battery compartment is opened by unscrewing the end. The D rings are stable. With the Black Series, I like how the blade is removable. I don't really care for the extra sound effects. I don't need the kyber crystal. The only better feature is the stand. The Master Replica's stands would hold the lightsaber horizontal and after time, the blade would begin to droop. Also, the price for the lightsabers used to be around $130 tops. Now they're upwards toward $300? That's crazy. I'm glad I got mine when I did.

You are right, I am ordering one very soon. Kind of wierd.. The one on shop Disney has a removable blade, but the one they are selling and Disneyland has a fixed blade. Kind of strange. All the fixed blades have one kind of electronics and the removable blades a separate.
Hey Simon, if you're asking about blade wobble, you are probably referring to the galaxies edge blades. You might want to check out my lightsabers for beginners video. Essentially, I use a thin layer of strong quality packing tape just go around the base of the blade one time. I cut off the access and the wiggle is almost gone 👍🏻 thank you so much for watching.

Yes and no, it's modelled after the post production ESB MPP. The Elite saber has a few inaccuracies to the one shown in Rogue One, however they got most of it right. It's also very hard to make a 100% screen accurate Rogue One hilt because of the lack of reference photos. I've noticed a theme with the Hasbro and Disney line up, they basically take the coolest features from each version and mash 'em together. See the Skywalker legacy lightsaber, which is loosely based off ESB and TFA Graflex.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Darth Vader black series Force FX light saber for $167 from Walmart. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, especially at that price point. However, I am wondering if anyone can answer why there is a lever on the control switch for the Legacy, light saber, whereas there is none on the force FX lightsaber.
what's the blade length? great comparison video. I was looking forward to picking this one up but I might go with a legacy lightsaber at that price point. unless I can find a good sale for the black series elite one.

Oddly enough the Elite BS saber shares the inaccurate grip screws with the legacy vader saber. If it didn’t have these screws it would be near completely accurate to the ESB saber.
I think as some mentioned above the Legacy Saber is supposed to be accurate to Rogue One. This one is supposed to be accurate to Obi Wan series. So much inconsistency across Vader Sabers on screen!
I have the Vader black series saber and my crystal is clear, no red at all in it.that shit pisses my off.brsides that it's actually a pretty awesome saber,looks like Vader's to the t.the clip isn't as bad as he says it us.yiu don't hear it when you turn it on and start messing around with it,so don't worry about that.but that crystal has me so mad.

It’s very orange I like the white inside with the bright red outside prepared to the solid coloured blades

Yeah, they’re absolutely terrible compared to Neopixel, and most LGTs are in the same price point as these Hasbro sabers.

When the Galaxy's Edge sabers came out I went nuts, it was the first series to have all removable blades. Bought the Jaymoos blade you recommended. Then shifted to LGT'S sabers and finally 89sabers. And I love them all.

I got the Obi wan kenobi blackseries for Christmas, but I love everything except for when I do the Obi-wan and Anakin lightsaber spin, it keeps doing the clash I will either get Luke's green one next or Vader, or the Anakin Legacy saber

I have the Master Replicas Darth Vader Episode IV and Darth Vader Episode V lightsabers. The battery compartment is opened by unscrewing the end. The D rings are stable.
With the Black Series, I like how the blade is removable. I don't really care for the extra sound effects. I don't need the kyber crystal. The only better feature is the stand. The Master Replica's stands would hold the lightsaber horizontal and after time, the blade would begin to droop.
Also, the price for the lightsabers used to be around $130 tops. Now they're upwards toward $300? That's crazy. I'm glad I got mine when I did.
Why do these blades look so dark tho? Like, I think that from what I see an rgb lightsaber looks brighter

You are right, I am ordering one very soon. Kind of wierd.. The one on shop Disney has a removable blade, but the one they are selling and Disneyland has a fixed blade. Kind of strange. All the fixed blades have one kind of electronics and the removable blades a separate.

Hey Simon, if you're asking about blade wobble, you are probably referring to the galaxies edge blades. You might want to check out my lightsabers for beginners video. Essentially, I use a thin layer of strong quality packing tape just go around the base of the blade one time. I cut off the access and the wiggle is almost gone 👍🏻 thank you so much for watching.

Yes and no, it's modelled after the post production ESB MPP. The Elite saber has a few inaccuracies to the one shown in Rogue One, however they got most of it right.
It's also very hard to make a 100% screen accurate Rogue One hilt because of the lack of reference photos.
I've noticed a theme with the Hasbro and Disney line up, they basically take the coolest features from each version and mash 'em together. See the Skywalker legacy lightsaber, which is loosely based off ESB and TFA Graflex.
I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the Darth Vader black series Force FX light saber for $167 from Walmart. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase, especially at that price point. However, I am wondering if anyone can answer why there is a lever on the control switch for the Legacy, light saber, whereas there is none on the force FX lightsaber.

Oddly enough the Elite BS saber shares the inaccurate grip screws with the legacy vader saber. If it didn’t have these screws it would be near completely accurate to the ESB saber.

I think as some mentioned above the Legacy Saber is supposed to be accurate to Rogue One. This one is supposed to be accurate to Obi Wan series. So much inconsistency across Vader Sabers on screen!

I have the Vader black series saber and my crystal is clear, no red at all in it.that shit pisses my off.brsides that it's actually a pretty awesome saber,looks like Vader's to the t.the clip isn't as bad as he says it us.yiu don't hear it when you turn it on and start messing around with it,so don't worry about that.but that crystal has me so mad.
