I love the line "I think we've established that kakaw kakaw and tookie tookie don't work." Though my favorite line in the whole movie is "how do you know that? You don't know anything."
funny story, one christmas mum and i were in line to laybuy some christmas presents for my nephew and there was a woman there with like a two year old and all of a sudden, he's going "car, car" but the way it came out, sounded like kakaw, kakaw, and mum and i just looked at each other and started laughing because of Sean William Scott XD
The three shot of them in close up at the end of the table is just precious. I think Julianne Moore is about a heartbeat away from losing it in almost every shot.
Orlando Jones is such a good actor. He's got great comedic timing in this but it wasn't until his role in American Gods that I realized just how good he is. Man needs to be in everything. Give him all the roles.
I haven't gone through the comments to see if anyone mentioned The Replacements? One of my fave comedy sports movies with Orlando Jones and Keanu Reeves :) I also love Necessary Roughness with Scott Bakula and Sinbad as his comedy sidekick :) If they haven't seen those movies they should!!
@@RangerErnsy Mine too :) Watch it whenever I see it as I look for movies on Hulu, Netflix etc. Used to watch it whenever it showed up on cable, which was pretty often!!
I like to think his removal from "American Gods"was one of the reasons the series was cancelled. "Not the right message for black Americans", my ass....
Fun Fact: Head & Shoulders did not sponsor the movie and did not pay a dime to be included in the movie. Also the actors and crew thought it would be funny create the commercial as a gag and it ended up being put at the end of the film. Fun Fact 2: Evolution started as an idea to reboot the Ghostbusters franchise.
My favorite is when director Ivan Reitman asks Orlando how that felt? (The forceps being inserted into his butt) and Orlando response "Oh... god. Actually pretty good." Another great moment from the commentary is when Orlando screams "It's in me!", David Duchovny aks "Are his eyes CGI?"lol
I love how much they loved the Head & Shoulders commercial. Evolution was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Every time it came on cable, I sat down to watch it.
Aaron is the one who references this movie the most. Sad he's not in the reaction but still a good one. I really like the movie. The ca-caw scene is perfect
They made an animated series which served as a sort of alternative timeline sequel to the film; in the same vein as Godzilla, Real Ghostbusters, Men in Black etc. It was actually kinda fun from what I can remember
The late 90's and early 2000's were the golden age of tv shows based off underrated movies. Characters on TV got to do what they couldn't on film: Agents J and K hunted down aliens on the run, Dr Kane and co. killed them, Godzilla fought one monster per episode; in the US, or anywhere else on the planet. 😄😁
I love this movie. Saw it in the theater with a bunch of friends (while I was in college studying chemistry) and said the "Selenium?" reference before it was revealed as they were making periodic table comparisons and all my friends looked at me like 'how tf did you know that?' It was such a ridiculous movie and I love it. great reaction guys!
Orlando Jones got his break as one of the original cast members of Mad TV. His role in that show is what got him the opportunity to be in movies. In fact, that first original group of Mad TV comics have gone on to do really well in Hollywood.
This film was originally envisioned as a spiritual successor to Ghostbusters, being directed by Ivan Reitman (RIP) and featuring Dan Aykroyd in the cast and all. They even gave this film a short-lived animated series.
Actually, the original idea was a straight-up sci-fi horror film, it wasn't until Ivan Reitman came aboard as the director that they changed this into a comedy.
Watching this one again as there's not too many reactions of this hilarious gem out there and seeing Eric laugh at things just because he's accessed his mind-vault is great, because he knows there's a TOOKIE TOOKIE! coming etc... Bliss.
FINALLY!!!! Been waiting for someone to react to this one. Such a great movie. Was so in love with David Duchovny. There’s actually a song from he 90’s called David Duchovny, Why Won’t You Love Me by Bree Sharp. Believe it or not, it was a great song and got a lot of radio play.
This reminds of Galaxy Quest where it was marketed more towards kids, so a lot of people skipped it. Both of them probably would've been more popular at the time if they stuck with an R.
Love this movie, super underrated imo. "Don't you snap at me, unless you want an angry solid gold dancer on your hands" Also, goddamn i had a crush on Julianne Moore back in the early 2000's.
i haven’t seen this movie in so long. I remember watching this movie in High School when it first came out. I’m pretty sure me and my friends watched it at a movie theater at a mall. I remember thinking “this is so stupid, it’s amazing.” Also, YA’LL DID NOT CLOSE THIS VIDEO WITH HEADDDDD, SHOULDERS KNEES AND TOES!!!😂🤣😂
I remember watching a VHS of a movie I can’t remember and seeing this movie in the commercials before the movie and always been meaning to watch it, but never had a chance
That weird underrated Ghostbusters But with Aliens movie that was intended to be a serious horror movie originally. Always wondered what that version would've been like.
Omg this is a surprise. I literally gasped. I love this movie. My mom was a science teacher and I remember her liking it too. The blue alien apes gave me nightmares as a kid lol.
this is the first movie I ever saw in the cinema. I was 4. my "cool" aunt took me. you can imagine the impression it left on me. I still remember some scenes VIVIDLY even though I haven't seen it since
This was a favourite VHS of mine when I was a teen. Love this film, it's so much fun. It's got such a unique tone to it, basically a live action cartoon.
Oh my god I adored this movie when I was younger. It's been years since I watched it, probably a decade but I still remember so much because it was so funny.
I worked at a movie theatre when this movie came out. I'm still friends with a few of the folks I worked with and they've called me Wayne ever since. Awesome pick.
That trial explains what that soldier was upset about. Ira Kane made a disease that made the soldier sick as well as several other soldiers. “Kane Madness”
I love this movie. One of my childhood favourites. Was so happy that you guys decided to watch it. Revisiting it with you all was a great trip down memory lane and it was blissful seeing you bros enjoy it as much as I did. AWESOME REACTION! Thank You Blindwave.
I always thought this felt like a test to see if audiences would like a third Ghostbusters at the time. It totally saw it as Ghostbusters with aliens at the time.
This is one of my favorite movies. I always love watching the hospital scene. That's one scene I wish we could get a behind the scenes of. I saw in an interview with Orlando Jones recently he said the performing of getting an alien yanked from his ass was exhausting lol
I had to make two attempts to watch this film when it came out, as the first time we tried to see it, the projector broke down and had the film catch fire, right at the moment seen at 19:00 in this video. It took a few seconds before anyone in the theater realised that it wasn't actually part of the movie.
Orlando Jones has been in quite a bit of things. Great actor and always loved seeing him. Have no idea what 7 up commercials your talking about though.
For the record, I do believe that Head and Shoulders actually did not pay at all for product placement in this movie. I believe they were literally just mocking product placement in movies.
I forgot how funny this movie is! Yes, it's silly, and problematic in places, but there's no denying it's entertaining. Thanks for giving me a reason to watch it again!
Hello BW o/ Sarah Silvermans' character was part of a deleted scene from the beginning of the movie where it shows her leaving Ira. I only know this because I had the DVD at the time and vividly remember asking the same question you all had on why she was in the diner. There is also an alternate ending that was cut which is pretty great if you get the time to check it out.
I love seeing David Duchovny in this movie considering The X-Files was still on at that time and this just feels like a parody of it lol. Good touch by the director👌
This movie was filmed in my hometown!!!! The base they have at 31:32 is the playground at my elementary school! Which is right down the street from where I live!
Orlando Jones, who played dr. Harry Block in this movie, also plays the African God Anansi in the TV series "American Gods". And he owns one of the best scenes in the series, the monologue on the ship transporting slaves, and, in my opinion, one of the best scenes in the history of cinema, because the acting in this scene is something really incredible.
YES!!! I love this movie! Always a great pick to put on and enjoy. It was one of my favorite movie as a kid. And I have no idea how I was able to watch this.
This has been my go-to movie for the past 15 years. I've watched it so damn much that I've pretty much memorized every line in the movie. I think it was Orlando Jones that posted a tweet saying if they hit 100,000 likes they will make a sequel but that was years ago.
And to think this was originally supposed to be Ghostbusters 3. So many elements of this movie make sense when you think of Ghostbusters: replace the aliens with ghosts, shotguns with proton packs, the fire truck with Ecto-1, Venkman’s backstory with the military, the ex-girlfriend Silverman (Sigourney Weaver) showing up in the diner, the logo popping out at the end… it’s so clearly a sequel to Ghostbusters, just reskinned as an alien movie.

Every once in a while I randomly think about : “kakaw kakaw tookie tookie” and I break down laughing
Haha some of us used to do that in school! 😂
I too occasionally speak the language of the gods and stay laughing.
😝
I love the line "I think we've established that kakaw kakaw and tookie tookie don't work."
Though my favorite line in the whole movie is "how do you know that? You don't know anything."

"How are you going in?"
"Rectally."
"Noooo..."
That scene always cracks me up.
his squeal is legendary
Can we stop for ice cream?
Sure. What flavor?
It's for my a$$...
"That thing was this big and you took it like a man"
I inputted that “Noooo” in my vocabulary after I saw this movie. 😂😂😂
I love that scene too.
The three shot of them in close up at the end of the table is just precious. I think Julianne Moore is about a heartbeat away from losing it in almost every shot.

"There's always time for lubrication" was quoted often by us in high school haha
'You cannot imagine what Ive seen in there!' Cracks me up everytime
Fun Fact: Head & Shoulders did not sponsor the movie and did not pay a dime to be included in the movie. Also the actors and crew thought it would be funny create the commercial as a gag and it ended up being put at the end of the film.
Fun Fact 2: Evolution started as an idea to reboot the Ghostbusters franchise.
It does feel like a spiritual Ghostbuster Sequel.
This movie's DVD had something you don't see often: Actor Commentary.
It's hilarious, and so wholesome, you can tell how much fun they had.
It was a regular thing in the late 90's to 2000's now its all mostly digital so that wonderful thing has gone
i havent watched it with the commentary. good to know. thanks!
Calvins look towards Eric and Rick always cracks me up. Its like "are they really doing this right now?"
"It's heading for his testicles."
"TAKE IT, TAKE IT, TAKE THE LEG!!!"
Yeah, I'd rather lose the leg.
Aaron is the one who references this movie the most. Sad he's not in the reaction but still a good one. I really like the movie.
The ca-caw scene is perfect
Tooki Tooki, friend. Tooki Tooki
Guys, I think we've established that Ca-Caw and Tooki-Tooki doesn't work.
If I ever make it in the film industry, this is the franchise I want to bring back the most. Good god, there's so much untapped potential.
AmazingChi "untapped potential"? You spelled Julianne Moore wrong. Lol
I'm with you! How much money do we need?!
This movie is an underrated gem. I loved every second of it.😂
It really is.
Same
Seann singing "You are so beautiful to me" is amazing. That mall scene always gets me!
They made an animated series which served as a sort of alternative timeline sequel to the film; in the same vein as Godzilla, Real Ghostbusters, Men in Black etc.

10:53 That question is answered later in the courtroom scene when Ira was being questioned. It was because he suffered from the "Kane Madness."
Orlando Jones had a small part in "Office Space" as a college student selling magazine subscriptions.
I love this movie. Saw it in the theater with a bunch of friends (while I was in college studying chemistry) and said the "Selenium?" reference before it was revealed as they were making periodic table comparisons and all my friends looked at me like 'how tf did you know that?' "There's always time for lubricant!"
The best part of this movie, is the chaotic friendship of the main cast, it feels so natural.
From "Mars Attacks!" to this, this just made my Friday!
Yea made my day too.
I love this movie SO DAMN MUCH...it always makes me laugh to the point of crying.
Every single character is amazing, but Orlando Jones is AWESOME!
This movie is criminally underrated and I'm so glad you guys got to check it out!
4:17 You're forgetting that Orlando Jones was one of the OG cast members of MadTV.
The ending was very reminiscent of the Ghostbusters commercial where they said "We're ready to believe you."
this is one of those rare movies that has no flaws, it´s just simple dumb fun
As an electrical engineering student, I can confirm that all the chemistry and biology displayed in this movie is 100% accurate.
Not a reaction i thought i would ever see, but FUCK YEAH THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME 😂
Another underrated role Orlando Jones has is co-starring in the action comedy Double Take.

“I was young and we where in a basement”
X-Files meets Ghostbusters. So underrated.

That alien mosquito scene was hilarious and mostly uncomfortable to watch first time.
For the record, I do believe that Head and Shoulders actually did not pay at all for product placement in this movie. I believe they were literally just mocking product placement in movies.
I'm pretty sure I've watched this movie at least 40-50 times. Gonna get me some popcorn, this is going to be good!
I forgot how funny this movie is! Yes, it's silly, and problematic in places, but there's no denying it's entertaining. Thanks for giving me a reason to watch it again!
you guys should watch Goon with Sean William Scott, its really funny but also a really heartwarming movie and its my favourite performance from him
Fun movie.
I've watched this movie so many times, I've lost count. It's one of my favorites. This one and The Burbs', I can watch over and over. Great stuff. 👍

Looking back on this, I'm astonished at how good the creature design and animation (or puppetry or whatever they did) is.
I love seeing David Duchovny in this movie considering The X-Files was still on at that time and this just feels like a parody of it lol. Good touch by the director👌
Ivan Reitman is ALWAYS a win *ding*
I thought it came out just after X-Files ended.
What helps sells the film is the Practical effects & special effects! It’s all so creative and original it’s Oscar worthy.
This movie is still amazing. RIP Ivan Reitman
This is one of my favorite movies! Its soo rewatchable 😁
