I love the fact you combined modern day equipment and training method to the old traditional techniques to show how they still will work if put in context with some creativity. It had to be done!

@@AkbanOrg Yes. This is one of the reason many Bujinkan ninjutsu dojo's give a bad reputation to the art, because they have become like those watered down Aikido schools who only focus on the philosophy. They only practice with no resistance or pressure whatsoever from the Uke. When in reality, many techniques can be effective in self-defense combat. But still, we do not need to become MMA and continue to practice in a more ZEN way of doing things.

Interesting how regardless of the starting style, techniques have the tendency to look alikes, once applied in combat context.
The 1st remind me of the boxing philly shell guard, the 2th a muay thai and also boxing Dracula guard.

I think part of it may also be that things begin to converge once you put gloves on. Gloves immediately limit not only your options, but the opponent's options as well. It would make sense that things would begin to be similar in that context.

Sorry, because it takes so much time to do a black belt in AKBAN, we don't have too many free instructors and actually no franchise system. I wish that some experienced practitioner from other discipline would take this task, but so far, none in the USA

@@AkbanOrg I live in Florida, and there are a few of us here that are trying to take ninjutsu in the same direction as you are. Mark Russo does a lot of modern application of techniques. My teacher joined up with another guy starting the Jissen dojo doing the same. I recently started teaching students myself, and I strive to teach in the same manner. I think it would be great if we could all connect.

@@AkbanOrg Okay, I just thought that you maybe knew what Aikido was rather than knowing it's techniques, if you don't know that's cool. Bujinkan taijutsu gets alot of hate, some even consider it a fraudulent art labeling soke Masaaki Hatsumi a charlatan, but from my research and watching you're videos the techniques seem legit. Is Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto-Ryu (TSKSR) the swordsmanship taught in in the Bujinkan curriculum or is it just part of the AKBAN curriculum? On Bujinkan wiki and other channels they use the term Bikenjutsu which from my research is just another term for Kenjutsu (correct me if I'm wrong), from my researching it's said that multiple sword styles are taught. Is TSKSR one of them?
