Both of them work just as good as each other but I got told you can't use prawns sold for human consumption as bait cause of white spot disease only prawn sold as bait thats why I don't use cooked prawns any more I use ufish brined Baits prawns His a link with information check it out cheers 👍 www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/aquatic-biosecurity/pests-diseases/animal-health/aquaculture/white-spot-disease/important-information-for-recreation-fishers-use-of-prawns-as-bait
Your a awesome fisherman..love your vids bro 👍 I get all excited watching your stuff ..I'm hoping to catch something great a Patterson tomorrow 😊 just 1 decent size is all I want..
Thanks mate i try keep just off the bottom i use a light sinker size where it just anuff weight to get to the bottom and not get snagged and the turbulence and wash helps hold it off the bottom if i feel it hit the bottom i give the rod a lift up so the bait hang about a meter off the bottom is the wash 👍
I tried to use uncooked tiger prawns , but didn't work well ... Is cooked one better? BTW: this is a BERLEY video, but you didn't record how it is used :)
Try salting them down stay on hook better as soon as I finish making the berley in the video it come up the how to use it i write it because I for got to show so watch between the berley and rig section of video cheers 👍
Hey Sticky, love watching your vids mate. I normally go off the beach at stocko but keen to try rock fishing at the bay. Can you suggest any spots around there that are safe and reasonably easy access?
David Wisemantel hey mate around boat harbour is good you can find a safe quit bay there to fish with eazy acsess plenty of good spot just need the right conditions berley up with bread helps a lot to bring them in to the rocks mate hope that help you Cheers 🎣👍
Nick Smith hey mate you can use the swivel leader rig but off the rocks in a bit of swell it tangles up so if you run sinker to hook keeps it all together less chance of getting snagged up and it is a more affective technique for rock fishing 🎣👍
Yeah good vid once again Ricki, mate that burley is killar for the drummers💯👍, Thats the best rig you'd ever want for the rocks none better for drummer n groper i use it all the time bigger hooks of course for groper, i like 1/0 double strength suicide pattern for the drummer, mate keep up the good work n tightlines.🎣👍👊
D. Figer hey i just use vennmia prawn from Woolworths i get them when they are on special and salt them down and freeze em Bit dear then a pack of normal bait prawn but they are rubbish so i use Cooked prawn they the go 👍
Couldn't agree more - the venn. prawns seem to be way tougher too and hang onto the hook really well. Been using them off the beach for years after an old bloke at south Ballina came over and gave me some - the bream and dart seen to really love smashing them. My second favorite bait after fresh pipi. Love the channel by the way , thanks!
redredwino hey yeah they are a good around bait mate work real well every where everything eats a prawn no many fish that don't Thanks for watching my videos appreciate it cheers 👍 🎣
Thank gawd someone catches a feed of fish to eat!!! Ridiculous to catch a bunch of fish and let them "ALL" go, otherwise what's the point of fishing!!!
Peter Chatman haha yeah i don't mine a feed of fresh fish mate I Do release alot of the fish i catch too Some people just like the sport all the fun of it mate Cheers 🎣👍
Good video mate. I just went to Boat Harbour today. This was my second time been here for fishing however, those rocky area made my hook get stuck many time. How do you avoid this issue?
Arsenal Zz hey mate yeah very rocky there i get stuck on the rocks as well if you find you are getting snagged try a lighter sinker like a size 1 or size 0 or no sinker at all just the hook and the wait of the bait cause if you fish in the white wash and berley up with bread you dont need to cast far the fish will slowly come in to feed and is all about the right wait for the swell and location but the key is to chuck it out and don't let it sit for to long in one spot let it hit bottom every 10 to 20 seconds give it a flick off the bottom reel up the slack line and repeat to it get to close to the rocks then reel it in And cast back out It takes a lot of getting use too I've been fishing the rocks for 15 years and i still get snagged on the rocks noing the right spots to fish help too hope that helps you mate Good luck with the fishing cheers 🎣👍
Sick of seeing those trimmed line tags on the rocks. Hopefully people start waking up and having some respect for the rocks. There is a lot more people fishing these days and all of these bits of line entering the environment add up. Good video mate.
Mate all them fish where over size here in n.s.w i don't keep under size fish and if you watch my videos i release a lot of fish i only keep fish sometimes for my family too eat and there's nothing wrong with that mate

Great videos. With rock fishing, do you drop the bait to the bottom or suspend it off the bottom? Thanks

Why don’t you use a swivel and a leader type rig?
Nick Smith hey mate you can use the swivel leader rig but off the rocks in a bit of swell it tangles up so if you run sinker to hook keeps it all together less chance of getting snagged up and it is a more affective technique for rock fishing 🎣👍

Sungsoo Lee thanks 👍
Great video, nice and simple technique. What tides are you fishing ? Looks like night time.
Glyndwr Watson thanks it was high tide & it was late afternoon and overcast so it looked darker then normal 🎣👍
Without giving too much away, what State and general area are you in?
Peter Chatman port stephens n.s.w 👍
where do keep getting cooked prawn from? It's more expensive than the fish you are catching with it!
D. Figer hey i just use vennmia prawn from Woolworths i get them when they are on special and salt them down and freeze em

Cooked prawn they the go 👍

Arsenal Zz hey mate yeah very rocky there i get stuck on the rocks as well if you find you are getting snagged try a lighter sinker like a size 1 or size 0 or no sinker at all just the hook and the wait of the bait cause if you fish in the white wash and berley up with bread you dont need to cast far the fish will slowly come in to feed
and is all about the right wait for the swell and location but the key is to chuck it out and don't let it sit for to long in one spot let it hit bottom every 10 to 20 seconds give it a flick off the bottom reel up the slack line and repeat to it get to close to the rocks then reel it in
And cast back out
It takes a lot of getting use too
I've been fishing the rocks for 15 years and i still get snagged on the rocks
noing the right spots to fish help too hope that helps you mate Good luck with the fishing cheers 🎣👍
