    What I am getting from this is that Lamu used to be a human child. His father, Dr. Bronze was a genetic scientist who wanted to combine human and animal genes for the sake of “curing” an illness. My theory is that perhaps Lamu, when he was still a human child, had some sort of terminal disease, possibly a severe metabolic disorder. His father went mad and conducted the gene-splicing experiment on his own son. Of course the experiment went terribly wrong, and the boy grew to resent his father and see him as a monster. He lost control due to having been been experimented on and ended up killing his own family.

    • @nightsong81
      @nightsong81 ปีที่แล้ว +505

      The metabolic disorder theory makes sense, given that Lamu is always hungry. If the treatment not only turned him into a llama monster, but also supercharged his metabolism, that would explain why he needs to eat all the time. Though you'd expect him to just starve to death once he ate everything and everyone edible nearby.

In the previous two endings, I believe they were published in 2002, but this one regarding the Bronze family was published in 1977 on October 23rd*, which speaks of itself. Poor Little Boy? read the dates on the newspapers, This thing is at least 30 years old at this point. and It seems the father was trying to cure his son of an incurable illness. which considering that Lamu isnt dead means it kind of worked and he was cured, and considering he still had hands to write in the book with he wasnt a Llama monster yet when he murdered his parents. The "Sick Basterd of a father" was trying to cure his only son of an Illness with no known cure. the kid went insane and killed his parents. Both of them, despite only having a weak reason to kill his father. and then went on to kill and eat dozens of innocent people over the course of 25 years.
      Poor Little Boy Indeed.

      @@candlestone5397 Considering the scribblings in the book, whatever his dad did to him was traumatic at best and started fucking him up well before he fully turned. No ordinary child starts writing madness mantra's about always being hungry and everything being fruits. Whatever his intentions were, the process itself must have been horrific, and the result is a constantly hungry mutant, who remains delusional for decades afterwards. Regardless, I would say that "sick bastard of a father" is accurate. Trying to save your son doesn't justify horrific, untested experiments of dubious effectiveness without any concern for what that son actually wants.

    • @MissSweetie
      @MissSweetie ปีที่แล้ว +26

      @@candlestone5397 it is clear that even though the boy has over 25 years, it still has the mentality of a child. It sees the world the way his favourite book used to tell him, he is delusional because of the trauma he went through, the experiments his father did to him, even if they were to save him, were inhuman (therefore that's why it isn't divulged, otherwise it would be said in the newspaper, right?). The way the narrator talks to Lamu, it is just like someone talking to a kid. I think it is very clear that it is an innocent kid whose SICK BASTARD OF A FATHER tortured in order to "cure" and therefore ended up traumatized, and because of said trauma, the remaining world view this kid has is the one of his favourite book. He is a delusional kid at brain, in the body of a carnivorous llama, living in a fantasy world. He is a poor boy.

      so yes, poor little boy (who we can clearly see is locked in the mindset of a child) gets to live a life of torturous pain, constant hunger and slowly losing more and more of his cognitive abilities until all that remains is a deformed lama-esque creature with a voice in their head and auditory and visual halucinations of such degree that world outside of them barely registrers at all. because the father wanted the scientific community to accept him back

      That, and a child’s brain is very easy to manipulate, so Lamu pretty much went far beyond the point of no return after his transformation into a human-faced wooly camel.

    From what I'm gathering-- Larry is Lamu, that much is obvious. He was likely turned into a human/llama hybrid as a result of his father's (Dr. Bronze's) experiments. A potential reason for being part llama specifically, I think, has something to do with the book.
    A children's book about a llama that happens to be Larry's favorite. That implies that Larry is a child, which can be further supported by the Narrator making that comment about Lamu no longer being able to read. Larry was likely young enough to have just learned to read before he got tested on by his father. Additionally: the way the Narrator speaks to Lamu is the way an adult would speak to a child. The notes in the book aren't as well-worded as you'd expect from someone more grown up. The drawings look like something a child would draw for their parent to put on the fridge (though I'm older and still have questionable art skills).
    As for the notes written on the pages, I suspect Larry's transformation was gradual. Maybe Larry changed over time and thus was able to write in his favorite book before losing the ability to read. How else would he have written stuff down if he'd immediately transformed? A llama can't write very well, I'd imagine- even if Lamu does write with a pencil in his mouth. The hand(mouth?)writing would be messier.

  • @lunerlilly

    So the funny thing that I guess can explain this is on the theory of werewolf transformation (like full on wolf or anthromorph). It's said that you would only ever be able to do it one time in your life because the metabolism required for it is very high. If the amount of meat necessary is not reached to do said transformation and maintain it, you could die.
    I forgot what I was watching that explains this theory cause it was so many years ago but yeah feel free to look it up. Funny enough gargoyles the show had an episode where fox was a werewolf due to Odin's eye. She was always able to transform but as they were tracking her they knew she was dying. Every night she transformed she had to basically find big where house meat lockers to maintain her metabolism.
    Anyway that's just my theory on why Llamu is always hungry and eats "meat."

      or simply the facts that Lamu is a mutated human, and as a human, is an Omnivore. as well as the fact that a park does not have enough edible plantlife to feed a creature that has the dietary needs of a human, is the size of a horse, and likely cannot digest grass and leaves.
      Which leaves a Half starved, Malnourished, Delusional, Cannibalistic, And Insane Llama-man Wandering the local park.

      @@candlestone5397 oh yeah of course. I was just expressing the relation to such an experiment that scientists deduced in theory. Fact is though, we can all agree that his body is indeed of malnutrition due to various reasons.
      Hunger can make people go crazy and fall into delirium as we all know. Ontop of the sad mental and emotional trauma he's obviously suffering. (Aka "fruits"). He obviously doesn't view the world normally for a lot of reasons. Hunger seems to be the main reason though. 🤔 so yeah I look forward to the devs making more.
