That's actually a cool idea and makes a lot of sense! Wow. I was trying to think about what the devs could change his to, because him not having an advantage like the other kids really sucks. I agree with a lot of comments in here, this game has a lot of flaws, but it is a neat concept and I hope that the devs work on improving it as it has a lot of potential to be more fun, in my opinion. Instead of just frustrating. So, it'd really be cool if they changed Benjamin's increased sweat to increased speed. Even if they kept the increased sweat, they could still try and add the increased speed too, because yeah! It ties together. In that case, then the other two kids should also get a disadvantage to make the strategy make sense and fair.
@@DelilahDarling17 yeah, I was thinking the girl could take longer to search, since she’s so nitpicky she’s less efficient bc she’s combing through more, and the other guy is quicker at searching but less good at it bc he goes so fast or something
@@DelilahDarling17 Furthermore, it seems like running increases your sweat speed, and Benjamin starts out with this increased sweat speed, then increases the meter even FASTER when he runs. If Benjamin was simply running by default, with both the increased movement and sweat, and then got an even more intense run when actively doing so, it would at least make some sense. Unfortunately, with the mechanics the game currently has, running has little effect in escaping death once you have been detected. You can juke around some objects within a room, but when going from one room to another it seems like you get pretty much telefragged, so it doesn't really matter how fast you can run at that point. Maybe the extra speed could help avoid getting found in the first place, but I can't really tell what determines what rooms the ghost passes through, and in turn can't tell if avoiding her through fast room switching is even possible. This would likely specialize Benjamin as a first-run character, getting to each critical passcode/key by rapidly travelling all across the house and opening up each of the areas for the following characters to actually search each area thoroughly. At that point you'd probably focus on the furthest depths of the home since he'd be able to get to those locations faster than the other characters, such as the garden and top floor areas that are behind rooms within rooms. With that done, you'd have made the most of his enhanced mobility, leaving him with simply an unremarkable search and abysmal stealth for however long you'd have left. Alternatively, I guess he could also be a last-run character, capable of getting to the final location(s), searching whatever few spots are left, and then getting out if the far depths of the home are the last locations to search through. Tactical usage of the deodorant and that one bedroom fan could help mitigate his stealth issues for longer. Seems like you'll always end the game by going into the attic. With that in mind, that should probably always be the last place you search so that you're already there when the final door opens up, but if you decide to do it earlier for some reason, or find that you accidentally missed something from another room, then this Fast Benjamin would be ideal for making that final sprint to the attic from wherever else you are in the home.
he already has a reason to sweat. he was the bully. he desrve to have it the hardest. sadly that resort most saveing him for last. so he has the best chance of liveing that kinda fucked up. if it was really random than cool but you get to pick
It would be cool if there was a mechanic where you could go back outside to reduce the sweat because of the cold air, and prevent Nora from chasing you. making the game a bit more fair, but not over the top easy because you would still get caught trying to run outside because of how fast Nora is.
Or make there a counter mechanic where she cant chase as fast once your sweat fills completely, making the one guy less terrible with a debuff and allowing there to be more variety to strategy
The devs could also make it so that you don't actually get to wait; the kids who are waiting outside taunt you for making a run for it, and you reenter with a lower sweat meter. EDIT: And that becomes a once per run option until the last kid.
A big problem with the game is that Nora's location outside of the current room isn't being tracked by the game during chases, so she just instantly pops up behind you if you try to lose her through rooms.
Ikr. That's why his second kid's death on his last one was honestly bull. He entered the room as she appeared in the room behind him in the opposite end of the hall but still killed him because him entering the room teleported her.
@@coenx1 That's actually pretty unfortunate. This is a pretty cool rougelike experience but death mechanics make or break the rougelike experience. Them being super frequent isn't a big deal but them being unfair (due to things like poor design or bugs) ruins the experience.
@@Rysussybaka I'm not a game developer nor do I know any type of coding but ao Oni was also built using rpg maker. Those mechanics already existed or had very simple scripts to create the mechanics. All I mean is I just don't think that's a fair comparison. I don't think it was an intended mechanic nor do I think the dev left it in after knowing it. Just seems like a learned lesson and unfortunate mistake for an otherwise really cool game.
I honestly assumed leaving the house would reduce your sweat. But no you can't do that. I think this game has a good aesthetic. But the sweat mechanic is terribly thought out. I get it, it's suppose to suppress closet camping. But this "solution" makes hiding pointless.
The sweat bar needs to go MUCH slower, there should be items around the house you can find to lower it (finding deodorant around the house and perhaps also a soap item that allows you to take a shower, maybe with the latter reducing the bar more than the former), and the teleportation bs needs to be fixed
@@MaxPower-ke5rq handing chocolate to a ghost trying to kill you and putting on deodorant while walking through a scary house where you could die at any moment is normal to you?🤨
I like the way the jar of fireflies rolls out of the house and down the steps to the next person. Neat animation and mechanic instead of going with a "game over" screen.
@@gemninja1197 I mean I don't care if they're the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon cards like Blue Eyes White Dragon or Charmander, that ghost can KEEP THEM.
TBF, we have the context of knowing what happened. Logistically, if the jar of fireflies rolled out the front porch safely, you'd assume that someone did it, and if you don't *actually* think there's a ghost in there until you're in, you'd assume that the kid in there did it. They're all asshole kids, and we're told that from the start, so it makes sense they'd try to do something to spook the others to indicate it's their turn and like hide in a closet to scare them.
idk about anyone else, but i love how ManlyBadassHero titles his videos as if he's panicking, but even playing horror games he's the most calm and soothing voice you could hear, the titles will always crack me up
That's because Manly is an anime protagonist and so his videos follow the Light Novel naming convention of describing the plot and or setting in the title
What is interesting is how Nora personally wanted to beat her bullies and ignored the brother who went in there to scatter the cards because it seems he left there unscathed and no injuries. I respect how the last kid continues to look for the cards even though, their friends may be dead or perhaps they somehow thought getting the cards will somehow free their friends or something. I can imagine she was aware of the game they were playing and allowed them to live once they got all the cards and only left them with bruises and psychological trauma. Still, I'm glad she got her revenge.
The brother went there during the day though, and maybe she's only active during the night. Although now that I think about it, the secret attic room only opens when you find the second-last card. Maybe Nora herself let the brother into it earlier to hide the card, and then opened it later on when the kids found all the other cards.
There was another comment that said they saw it as an issue with the teleport behind you when you enter a room. One person said one death was as he was about to exit she entered the room.
Let's be honest though, if you were the last kid and both your friends are presumably dead...what is stopping you from just leaving and going home? Why go in at all? Guilt?
why bother making a game? should just be a note on store page: " The kids realized it's smarter to buy cards, so they're not coming. no game " super reasonable, I wish all horror media was cutting out that boring middleman of the content!
Especially when the reward is to be group leader for a month. Although, can’t be a group leader if there’s no group to lead so if I were the last kid I’ll just go home and call authorities.
@@TemmiePlays Did yall even watch the video? Like at all? They didnt even care about the cards, they got to replace the main guy as the leader. That's what they wanted, you cant buy that.
It's weird how hard the game stresses that the kids are fuckin' DEAD when Nora catches them, but in the ending they suddenly only have "a few fractures and cuts"
Yeah honestly personally I’d have made it a bit more extensive, but keeping with the moral of “you guys literally made someone’s life a living hell suffer the consequences” killing them would defeat the purpose. So significant traumatic injuries woulda been a bit better.
"What they were going to find in the Morgan's house I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy....but those kids reminded me of some d*cks I used to know so I let them go in without warning lmao"
No pathfinding. They set Nora to follow the mouse cursor so she always gets you if she enters the room. That would help the balance issue. Cause in a normal game Nora should have left if she couldn't see you in that washer room.
It seems like the last thing that happened in the house before these kids arrived was that the thermostat was set to ninety degrees and all the windows were closed. Very sweaty people. It'd have been neat if you could have some sort of small distraction to place. Nice video as always.
This game's in desperate need of rebalancing. It seems like hiding in the closet just wastes precious time with the sweat mechanic. The time needs to be lengthened and/or in-game ways to reduce sweat. Maybe in the shower for example.
Shoot that actually would have been a good way to balance the game better. Have a chance to find deodorant in the bathroom and chocolate in the kitchen
I'm at 17:29 now. honestly I could imagine if you're down to one kid you have an option to just go home for an alternate ending. No friends left to guilt you, save your hide.
Benjamin needs a buff to counteract the sweating disadvantage, something like increased default movement speed (I mean, he's sweating already, so why not?). If anything, though, I would have disadvantages show up in Normal, which you only have advantages in Easy. Alternate to the increased movement speed is having Benjamin start with an item or a few coins, making starting with him a smarter move to start with. Also, Annette's double money didn't seem to work.
I assume it's like that for difficulty, at least that's what I thought at the start of the game, but after watching more of this, yeah at the least the others need buffing.. or maybe Benjamin should have one can of deodorant with him cos he knows he sweats??
Having a character with a detriment that you need to plan around a make things much more interesting than having a tradeoff. You need all 3 characters, but Benjamin is worse to use. You need to plan around his debuff accordingly like Manly did. Use his and Annete’s run to amass coins for Paul’s run. So: he works with a debuff and doesn’t necessarily need a perk.
Actually i think Benjamin’s perk is infinite sprint. If you notice when you sprint as the other characters, the sweat bar turns orange. However, Benjamin’s sweat bar is always orange.
yeah i feel like he would either be faster, cuz he wants to get out as fast as possible or have some things with him like a pair of coins or gum he could give to Nora
Game seems frustrating and unbalanced but a cool concept, weirdly similar to eggs for bart... also when in her room does it play a music box version of "why do birds suddenly appear?"
Maybe as it is similar to eggs for Bart and they're recognising it as "close to you" features in the Simpsons movie? It's Homer and Marge's wedding song
Despite the flaws, I like the mechanics and the art style! Getting into the lore was sad but hey, at least she got her revenge 😭 I wonder if Ben's brother made it out alive tho (most likely?)
Most likely,I think the bullies themselves were targeted so when the brother set the game up,it gave reasons for her revenge to happen cause they would come to the house,so she let the older brother be.(that's just my guess tho😅)
As what everyone else has said, as well as yourself, it has balance issues. You can't run or hide from Nora, let's be honest. It's supposed to be a cold, winter night and they're in a house that's essentially been abandoned but they're sweating more than a Brit in a heatwave. Did the brother turn the thermostat to max before he left? It just makes no sense. The one character having only a debuff doesn't make sense either. It would make sense if he's so stressed that he'd either move faster or be aware of Nora earlier than the others, or start with items or money. But also, the buffs of the other two characters - especially Annette- does little.
I think the sweating is more so their growing anxiety and fear.Since it is possible to sweat in winter clothes, the stress of death and being chased would cause that.I also agree with the debuffs,i think they were trying to have it be like a easy to hard thing, the easiest probably being Annette (Forgot her name😅) to Mister sweaty boi(Also forgot his name)being the hardest with no buff to help unlike the other two.
@@gemninja1197 the thing is though they sweated even when outside and before anything creepy started (I get the stressed kid being sweaty, as he was stressed, but the other two didn't really have that). And it doesn't change that this is essentially a house that been empty for at least a few days - the heating would be off during that time, so the house would be cold af. It's just... its an interesting but not a balanced mechanic. They sweat way too fast with only one way to cool off with the first character you play. And with Nora being so fast as well its just... Its too stacked against the player. Maybe more items to get rid of/reduce sweat or ways to slow/distract Nora akin to the chocolate that you can find in the house. And addressing how she can see you - like she shouldn't immediately pick up you're in a room if you're not visible (like when Manly was in the washing machine area of the kitchen and behind a wall yet she immediately picked up he was there when she entered the kitchen). So you'd have to stop searching/cover the fireflies so you don't make her aware you're there, or something. But I'm not a game developer... so I don't know how possible that would be. It's just i can see as a gamer it has balance issues.
@@nixiethepixie That is true,I think like manly said in a other comment, that she knew where manly/The character was but got stuck behind the wall since you only can hide in closets,i feel that sweat should build up only when you run or hide ,and the covering the fireflies is a good hiding in an open room mechanic but it might make the hiding in closet mechanic useless since (if not already spotted)You could just go to a corner of the room and cover them.I think more items like the chocolate and mini fans should be scattered about or batteries for it that you can get once you find it.Honestly still cool ideas and i know that developers look at comments like these to get tips so that is useful 👍
@@nixiethepixie I mean, have you heard of Cold Sweat? Where even if you're cold, you feel yourself sweating? (Not like actually feeling your skin secrete sweat, but you feel a hot flash in your body and you sweat more) Source: am a human radiator, and experience cold-sweat often
It's a brilliant idea to make a horror game based on smell. She won't notice me when I write comments because it doesn't smell.! Thanks for playing..... Manly!
13:28 if her doctors told her to take that many antidepressants of different classes, then yeah they really didnt know what they were talking about. i was expecting her to have died from serotonin syndrome
That and as a child at under the age of 25 many of those anti-depressants would have made her clinical depression work. This is the case for medications like fluoxetine. Nora was failed by a medical system and bullies.
@@sopapopp I just pulled this from google “Serotonin is a chemical that the body produces naturally. It's needed for the nerve cells and brain to function. I wonder if the gameplay mechanic could be improved by for example having an ability to open the windows so the breeze could reduce the sweat. But also the ghost could go around closing the windows, so it would balance the situation. I really liked the art syle of the game!
Given there’s a hard limit on how many items you can buy, yet the coins are so very limited, it seems like there was a previous build where that would be necessary.
The "one character dies, next character gets sent in" mechanic makes me think of Maniac Mansion. You had to pick a trio of kids in that and yeah, it was possible to die.
Was it, though? It kinda just seemed like the family 'got' you like they're playing tag or some shit. I never got the hype for Day of the Tentacle either. The humor was childish and annoying.
I know people are commenting on the game and all that, but the "card found" jingle has been driving me mad because it sounds so close to the Rugrats so I'm just expecting the "bah baaah~" after it plays.
This game has a lot of potential to be an absolute banger. I love the premise and that the narrator in the beginning is a third part witness with his own prejudices about what’s happening because it lend the player to have these prejudices at the start I wish they would have leaned into that start up with more character development like you find at the end that it wasn’t the older brother who scattered the cards they were actually card Nora had given the little brother and he wanted them back or something like that. Or leaned into them being bully’s more if they wanted to nail that premises in. I also loved the style choices of going through a door had a old camera flash feel is such a small but scary touch that I thought could have been added on. Would love to see if they add to this game and maybe fleas hit out into something bigger.
losing my mind that not only are there 3 antidepressants and no antipsychotics but there are TWO SSRIs like... that person definitely died from serotonin syndrome
Honestly, this just kinda sucks. If the ghost enters the same room even once, the character either needs a cookie or they are basically almost dead. Because she will give chase instantly until the character finds a closet, which sometimes doesn't help anyways when she is too close. And if the character gets in the closet, she just lingers for so long that the sweat bar takes a massive hit. I actually feel like it would be fairer if it was the other way around. She only appears if the bar is in the dangerzone and then one has to hide if she is in the same room to make her leave with her not being able to get you during the animation of entering the closets.
Speaking of animation, w her wobbling around with her jaw hanging down to her tits isn't scary, it's goofy. The sound of her mixing pasta when the kids die is just as goofy.
20 minutes in and I think that this game should have a way to reduce sweat Edit: now over 3/4ths into the vid and I think there should be more than like 2. Something like going outside should reduce sweat
that would defeat the whole purpose. one kid is good. one is bad. one is helpfull. so i agree with manly getting the money first would prob be best. then sweaty maybe. and give the fast searcher the best odds. with tons of chocolate.
Ya but sweat does come off, but its smell does not really disappear that much, so I do like how there's deodorant. But yeah maybe there should be a shower option but that would be too noisy or leave you in a vulnerable position. You cant really run while in the shower and most showers are dead ends.
Going out the front door could also be interesting from a character perspective. As the first or second person, you could get unique dialogue from your friends for stepping out during the game (probably a lot of taunting, since these kids are dicks). As the third person, you could either be faced with silence and have the opportunity to go home, or you could get to speak with the old man, who seemed to know a lot about Nora. This game doesn't feel like a finished product, so maybe there will be more chances to implement things like this in the future
9:27 That actually surprised me lol Love the mechanics and the artstyle. Looks very cool, but can see that it's full of flaws. Especially when cornered, you can't do anything without cookie.
I feel like just watching it's way too hard. You kind of lose the sense of needing to find the cards because you're just trying so hard to survive two to three rooms of the house and then those rooms might not have a card at all, just lore.
@@bigblue344 yeah they should've made the sweat meter stop while reading, and maybe stop time altogether but i could understand letting time continue so it's more tense
Oh one hand, I wonder if the ending changes if you finish the game without using all three characters (after all, not everyone would be roughed up). On the other hand, I'm not sure it would even be possible.
I've beaten it a few times, and you're actually right. It's subtle, but yes, in the still at the end with the characters roughed up, only characters you've used are actually injured. So if you beat the game without having to use all three characters, the characters you didn't use look scared and disturbed, but physically unharmed. But otherwise the ending is the same.
Bro honestly after the first kid was gone I would just leave not even just because of ghost there could be an actual person in there willing to hurt a bunch of kids
Here's how the game could be improved 1. I think the sweat bar should go up VERY slowly, only speeding up when you are in a closet, running, or being chased. Or, give multiple options to decrease sweat. 2. you should be able to leave the house to buy items and lower your sweat bar a bit mid playthrough, without having to send each character into a suicide mission. 3. Each character should have a nerf to balance the buff they get. Ben gets a permanent speed buff because he is scared, Annette gets a small debuff to her search speed since she is nitpicky, and honestly paul should remain the same but make the 25% buff into a 15 or 10% buff. 4. Rework how Nora follows you in chases. 5.make coins a little more common.
I just searched it up wanting to know more about the lore because man do I feel for Nora... I'm also in a similar state of depression and I just wanted to get to familiarise myself with the story because this game is so absolutely lovely, I just really love the 8 bit graphics and the premise as well, pesky teenagers who can't mind their own business shall be punished >:( Needless to say I got very confused when I saw there's absolutely no information about this game anywhere, like not even a wiki page or anything, it won't even find it of you write "Uninvited game" on google so I had to return to the description of this game and check steam info and I was SO sad to see it was just barely released two days ago! :( Of course there won't be any fanbase or wiki or any info about it :( It looks like such a wonderful game to play, thank you for the gameplay, I hope you enjoyed playing it!!
Depression fucking sux, I know from experience. The one hint I can give to one who's suffering from as a fully recovered person is: IF YOU HAVE TO CRY, FUCKING DO IT! Got somewhere hidden if you have to but for fuck's sake, CRY! Holding all that damn pain will make you feel SO MUCH suffering. I wish I had someone to me that sooner rather than later.
this game has a lot of potential. First I love the character design for Nora as she runs around. shes so tall and lanky and the clothes are surprisingly stylish. By the shushing sound she makes when she walks around I assumed that she might have died by drowning in like a swamp but it seems she just hung herself instead. ( and the other sounds she makes are . . . interesting) The game does look over all gorgeous but it also has lots of problems. Besides all the game breaking bugs the sweat mechanic a good idea is not used well and having Ben not having any buffs along with his debuff makes him really unbalanced, And over all the game is just to difficult. Difficult games can work but if its basically impossible to win on normal and just slightly better on easy mode the game is just not going to be any fun. This appears to be the creators first attempt at a first person game and well making games are very hard especially when doing something new for the first time and not everything is going work out on the first try. But I do believe they will improve and can make something great! Overall it has a beautiful style but many flaws as well, but I cant wait for the next game by the developer :) (though I doubt they would ever see this comment or anyone really lol)
This game looks very interesting since it’s based on smell. I would love to see more of this in the future if the developers decide to upgrade it and make more content.
In my opinion this game is too unbalanced on top of the game breaking bugs. I feel like each character should have a good element to them and a bad element so that the strategy makes more sense. I just feel each of there quirks don’t really make much impact (except for the sweaty kid)
Maybe have more than one fan randomly in the house to balance the sweat system? Though I suppose the creators did it on purpose that you need all three kids to win as a story is a lesson in kindness unless there is going to be an alternate ending updated where you can win with one.
Octavi is very good at animation, pixel art and creating spooky environments. However since all their prior games have just been point and click adventures I think they needed a little more work on this to make the gameplay a little more fair. This is also a nitpick but the deodorant doesn't necessarily stop you smelling. It makes you smell like something else. Why wouldn't the ghost be drawn to the smell of the deodorant?
Deodorant really isn't as powerful as you think. It doesn't neutralize bad smells and replace them with better ones, it just layers them. If you stink and you put on deodorant, you're still going to stink unless you also wash your armpits.
Benjamin: "Where'd you get that? (Firefly jar) Manly: "Well it's easy. First get a jar and then some fireflies- Me: "Oh thanks Manly, didnt know you needed a jar and some fireflies to make a firefly lamp! Thanks!"
That's a hard ass game. There's no way to beat it without losing at least one person. Unless you're the luckiness person in the world. The story is good. Those kids was horrible to her. The art style is pretty
Lots of people are saying that you should be able to go outside and such to lower sweat. But that would essentially make the sweat meter pointless as you could just closet camp near the door to the outside (which is what the sweat meter is trying to avoid) it also doesn’t make much sense in regards to the story. If it were me, I’d make the sweat meter go up *only while you are in a closet*-this make logical sense: you sweat in warm enclosed spaces while something is hunting you-but it would also reduce your ability to closet camp. You can choose to hide in a closet early when she sings to make yourself as safe as possible, but the longer you stay the closet the higher your sweat, which incentivizes waiting until the last second until entering a closet. This, combined with a tad more RNG to the singing as she gets close, and a ‘if she sees you go in the closet she knows you are there’ logic could make for very interesting gameplay. This also leads into the thing people have brought up about balancing the character with only a debuff-while I think there is merit to having some characters naturally be harder than others, switching sweat to only in-closet would mean the debuff could be paired with a buff like ‘…but ghost attacks less frequently’ or ‘…but can hide in X places no one else can” Some other options that would change the feel of the game more would be: - sweat goes up when you search and hide, but goes down slowly when you are just walking. This would encourage you to NOT just enter and then completely search all of a single room, as you need to spend some time walking to lower your sweat (so search a little, then run, search a little, then run) - sweat goes up when the ghost is close (singing and sniffing range) but when you successfully hide from a sniff she disappears completely and takes some time to respawn, this would mean you can either keep running and searching but lose your chance to successfully hide if she does catch you (because of how quickly it raises your sweat) OR you can hide as often as possible to get her to despawn but also have to break up your searching constantly and hope for good RNG on respawn time - sweat doesn’t affect hiding at all, instead, it effects how well the ghost can track you. So as the night progresses she starts to hunt and follow you more closely, leading to more close calls and a more frequent need to hide. You can ALWAYS successfully hide, as long as you do so before she enters your room. This would make it a lot more like traditional horror games, but with an added difficulty increase over time
I watched it before falling asleep and I basically dreamed about a situation like this. I didn't have the jar and I wasn't looking for cards, but I was in a house with monsters like this one and I had to hide in a closet. Kinda creepy but I liked it
Yeah, use Benjamin to get like 4 coins and buy 2 deodorants with it, then use Annette for as long as you possibly can and hope you can get Glasses and deodorants for Paul.
It seems that Ben is the worst pick here, sweating 15% faster? Where if you sweat too much it's game over? At least the other 2 have benefits (like Paul's 25% speedier search)
In the first minutes I was like: wow this games seems impossible but Manly is a pro maybe I just dont see it. Turns out it is really is that frustrating, welp sometimes you have stinkers
_The game is just beginning and..._ I already don't like Paul. He deliberately is setting up this "game" for no good reason other than to make a dare. Dares don't work out well. Old Mr Smith is cool. Edit:. Good little story, great art and I liked the sounds and music. I felt bad for Nora. I was half expecting the Close To You song to mean she had a crush on a boy and he made fun of her, but she had enough sadness. Personally, I'm gonna wait to see that some of the balance issues are fixed and bugs ironed out before I buy. Great job as usual, MBH!
The true horror in this game is in the comment section, which is full of people who do not know how deodorant works in real life. PSA: If you stink, wash your armpits. Don't just put on deodorant or antiperspirant. If you're already smelly, simply wiping a scented stick across your armpits will only make you smellier. Do everyone around you a favor and wipe down your pits.
The note that basically said "we noticed your kid is isolating herself and we are viewing that a a problem with her instead of acknowledging the bullying that is directly causing it" hits a bit too close to home...
You can mix some antidepressants-usually SSRIs with non-SSRI antidepressants. However, any combination administered needs to be under the supervision of a care provider.
Did anyone notice how sad the story is? Nora wanted to go to space, hoping good grades will get her there, she had no friends, got bullied and they broke the unique glasses her dad got her. Nora’s mom dies, she’s never been more alone, misses her so much and would give anything to see her mom’s smile again. This is gut wrenching.

With that in mind, that should probably always be the last place you search so that you're already there when the final door opens up, but if you decide to do it earlier for some reason, or find that you accidentally missed something from another room, then this Fast Benjamin would be ideal for making that final sprint to the attic from wherever else you are in the home.
he already has a reason to sweat. he was the bully. he desrve to have it the hardest. sadly that resort most saveing him for last. so he has the best chance of liveing that kinda fucked up. if it was really random than cool but you get to pick
if it made sense he wouldve left after the other two died lol, hes the leader now
It would be cool if there was a mechanic where you could go back outside to reduce the sweat because of the cold air, and prevent Nora from chasing you. making the game a bit more fair, but not over the top easy because you would still get caught trying to run outside because of how fast Nora is.
Or make there a counter mechanic where she cant chase as fast once your sweat fills completely, making the one guy less terrible with a debuff and allowing there to be more variety to strategy
@@kbub1234 you become too stibky for her to approach
The devs could also make it so that you don't actually get to wait; the kids who are waiting outside taunt you for making a run for it, and you reenter with a lower sweat meter.

@@artlessauthorite Or, and just hear me out here, you sweat _so much_ that she starts tripping on the puddles you leave behind.

Each character should have a list of buffs and debuffs rather than a single attribute

Speaking of animation, w

Going out the front door could also be interesting from a character perspective. As the first or second person, you could get unique dialogue from your friends for stepping out during the game (probably a lot of taunting, since these kids are dicks). As the third person, you could either be faced with silence and have the opportunity to go home, or you could get to speak with the old man, who seemed to know a lot about Nora.

No, the dev confirmed with me it's a one ending game.
Here's how the game could be improved
5.make coins a little more common.

this game has a lot of potential. First I love the character design for Nora as she runs around. shes so tall and lanky and the clothes are surprisingly stylish. By the shushing sound she makes when she walks around I assumed that she might have died by drowning in like a swamp but it seems she just hung herself instead. The game does look over all gorgeous but it also has lots of problems.

Maneki Neko: yada yada yada~
Manly: YADA YOOOOO
yada yo indeed, manly, yada yo 😭✊
I love how Manly resigned himself to death in the basement and then pulled a big brain play with that "Hold up, who says we can't keep fighting?"

Why wouldn't the ghost be drawn to the smell of the deodorant?
maybe she like... smells fear? and you're masking that?
Deodorant really isn't as powerful as you think. It doesn't neutralize bad smells and replace them with better ones, it just layers them. If you stink and you put on deodorant, you're still going to stink unless you also wash your armpits.
unless they're antiperspirants... yeah
The bugs made this game 50 times harder than it had to be, you had more patience than I would dude.
as someone with hyperhidrosis, this would be horrifying. Instant hardmode.
"I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy... But those three kids seem vaguely obnoxious, so in they go!" Weird standard..
Benjamin: "Where'd you get that? (Firefly jar)
Manly: "Well it's easy. First get a jar and then some fireflies-
Me: "Oh thanks Manly, didnt know you needed a jar and some fireflies to make a firefly lamp! Thanks!"
I like how he says the cookie lol
This also leads into the thing people have brought up about balancing the character with only a debuff-while I think there is merit to having some characters naturally be harder than others, switching sweat to only in-closet would mean the debuff could be paired with a buff like ‘…but ghost attacks less frequently’ or ‘…but can hide in X places no one else can”
Some other options that would change the feel of the game more would be:
- sweat goes up when you search and hide, but goes down slowly when you are just walking. This would encourage you to NOT just enter and then completely search all of a single room, as you need to spend some time walking to lower your sweat (so search a little, then run, search a little, then run)
- sweat goes up when the ghost is close (singing and sniffing range) but when you successfully hide from a sniff she disappears completely and takes some time to respawn, this would mean you can either keep running and searching but lose your chance to successfully hide if she does catch you (because of how quickly it raises your sweat) OR you can hide as often as possible to get her to despawn but also have to break up your searching constantly and hope for good RNG on respawn time
- sweat doesn’t affect hiding at all, instead, it effects how well the ghost can track you. So as the night progresses she starts to hunt and follow you more closely, leading to more close calls and a more frequent need to hide. You can ALWAYS successfully hide, as long as you do so before she enters your room. This would make it a lot more like traditional horror games, but with an added difficulty increase over time
Bold decision for the monster in your game about being tracked by the smell of your sweat to very clearly have no nose.
Taking a moment to appreciate how good Manly is at video games. This looked so hard and it was so satisfying to watch him beat it.
I watched it before falling asleep and I basically dreamed about a situation like this. I didn't have the jar and I wasn't looking for cards, but I was in a house with monsters like this one and I had to hide in a closet. Kinda creepy but I liked it
Is it just me but I just love Mandy’s voice. It like soothes my soul.
Benjamin => Necrosette => Paul
Buy deodorants, save portable fan for when needed
Her name's Annette, she's just always dead when you see her name since Manly picks her first xd
Yeah, use Benjamin to get like 4 coins and buy 2 deodorants with it, then use Annette for as long as you possibly can and hope you can get Glasses and deodorants for Paul.
This game is one of the games of all time that's for sure.
Wow this game is awfully similar to morbius because morbius is one of the movies of all time
just was thinking if manly upload a new video and checked, perfect timing lol
I like your ALR picture
@@patriciaalcala5292 thank youu
The title is the scariest aspect of this video
It seems that Ben is the worst pick here, sweating 15% faster? Where if you sweat too much it's game over? At least the other 2 have benefits (like Paul's 25% speedier search)
IF YOU SMEEEELLLLL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN?
In the first minutes I was like: wow this games seems impossible but Manly is a pro maybe I just dont see it.
Turns out it is really is that frustrating, welp sometimes you have stinkers
Something tells me one too many players told these game devs "point and click games are too easy!"
_The game is just beginning and..._
I already don't like Paul.
Okay; if she can sniff really good, does that mean she was born with an enhanced sense of smell? Who knows.
I think im drunk thank you though manly I like falling asleep to your stuff best wishes hope lifes good n all that
Drink plenty of water, fren
42:14 When your playing tag but there's a table between the person your suppose to tag:
I'd just hop over it
This was quite cool, but I think when Manly started going *USELESS! USELESS!* the game broke him
I know that teens are prone to smelling like gym socks, but damn. This game makes them seem like all they do is sweat profusely.
Wait... if she sniffs so good, then could she technically smell it if she was eating food and the food was slightly rotten 🤨🤔
it feels like this game is just way to unforgiving, like you can do everything right and still lose due to random chance.
That little music box was playing -close to you.
"Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me, they long to be
Close to you..."
she took both of your chocolate stars and then breaks your game
absolutely savage
The note that basically said "we noticed your kid is isolating herself and we are viewing that a a problem with her instead of acknowledging the bullying that is directly causing it" hits a bit too close to home...
Do you smell it? That smell. A kind of smelly smell. The smelly smell that smells... smelly.
For anyone wondering Nora's music box was playing the song "Close to you" by The Carpenters
13:34 I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to mix anti-depressants like that
those are depression and anxiety meds. not both for depression
You can mix some antidepressants-usually SSRIs with non-SSRI antidepressants. However, any combination administered needs to be under the supervision of a care provider.
Doctors do
Some can be mixed, but only at your doctors discretion
Did anyone notice how sad the story is? Nora wanted to go to space, hoping good grades will get her there, she had no friends, got bullied and they broke the unique glasses her dad got her. Nora’s mom dies, she’s never been more alone, misses her so much and would give anything to see her mom’s smile again. This is gut wrenching.
Feeling gassy rn so if the entire house smells after i blowed out a big one then she can't find me and there's a really high chance she'll faint
Dude
Ur a misunderstood genius
