Sir, I have approached a professor twice roughly 5 to 6 months ago, but didn't receive any response. Recently, I stumbled across an open position in my research area at that university. Is it wise to mail the professor once again before applying?
@Drganguli If the PhD supervisor refuses to send LOR when his/her student applies for postdoc or faculty positions, what should the student do? Will it ruin his life if he wants to stay within academia forever?

Some professors, especially in Europe, don’t respond to email. You can just apply for the job and see. If they want you then they will email you.
