    This is a very fast drive eastbound on Interstate 10 from Houston to New Orleans -- 375 miles in 10 minutes, or the equivalent of 2,500 MPH. The drive begins in Katy, Texas, and follows I-10 through Houston, Beaumont, Lake Charles, Lafayette, across the Achafalaya River wetlands, over the Mississippi River, Baton Rouge, and into downtown New Orleans. I've included captions to let you know what you're seeing.
    Music Info:
    Artist: Chris Zabriskie
    Titles May Include:
    Oxygen Garden
    I Am a Man Who Will Fight for Your Honor

    Huge props to you for managing to go 2,500 mph and still driving safely without getting caught by police.

    2,500 mph? That's as fast as a jet fighter traveling at Mach 4! :D
    Also, I bet the cars passing you are doing at least 3,000? :P

    One thing that these videos bring to mind is how much a person's speed will vary throughout a drive. I notice as I watch the camera car pass a vehicle, that vehicle later passes the camera car, only to have the camera car once again pass the same vehicle. The speed of this time lapse really makes it noticeable to me. Also I really liked that song "Air Hockey Saloon".

    I'm surprised the drive through Baton Rouge didn't slow the video down to the actual speed limit.

    Awesome video! I live in the middle of these 2 amazing cities. Lake Charles Louisiana is 2.5 hours from Houston and about 3.5 hours from New Orleans....But if you put the peddle to the medal on the Atchafalaya Expressway you can cut off 30 minutes of time going to New Orleans!😁 Thanks for sharing this amazing video!

    I can definitely tell you took this trip on the weekend. I know for a fact that the drive through Baton Rouge would have added an additional 5 minutes to your video.

    Great video! What kind of setup do you use(camera/dashmount, etc). I will be driving from Memphis to WA this summer, and want to record parts of it. Any advice?

    So is I10 only two lanes after you exit Houston?, I’m driving it to Florida soon and was wondering

    • @tweston315
      @tweston315 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I10 is 3 lanes throughout Calcasieu parish where Lake Charles is the parish seat. It is the first parish on I10 after you cross the Louisiana state line from Texas

    Houston could name a freeway the Perry freeway after Rick Perry than we could have the Katy Freeway and the Perry Freeway aka Katy Perry.
