Made some Monday. Made it thinner to avoid flakes and it worked. I’ve never used this gel without flaking. Infused it while boiling with Amla and Hibiscus. Added Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lavender and Rosemary EO’s to it once it cooled. It’s perfect!
Great video thank you! For my whole life I have misunderstood my curls. Made the gel last night and sitting in the sun now drying my casts! Thank you for explaining everything so clearly.
Hellooo, if i may ask, yesterday (before i watched this vid) i cooked the seed for too long and they were wattery [problem solved tyy] and the question is that, should i sleep with my haur wet with the gel in it? Bc i woke up to go to school and my hair was shapoed in a RLLY weird way, it was a disaster, thx for ur advices!
I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my hand and I was unable to squeeze the gel out of the cheesecloth so I purchased knee high socking . I haven’t attempted to try it yet but if that doesn’t work? Am I dune to try Flaxseed gel?
I have no hand strength so I use a 4x6 nylon bag to hold the flaxseed when boiling. There is some gel left in the bag but it is minimal. I have tried to reuse the nylon bag but it can be messy and I don’t have the dexterity to thoroughly clean. They are sold on Amazon in 50 or 100 packs for under 10 bucks. Some people reuse the seeds, however I didn’t have the best success with the consistency.
Amazingly helpful, sis! You have a lot of knowledge - thank you for sharing with us xxx P.S. Love your curls! Happy to see it's possible to do this more naturally x
Is it true ..? After I put the mask in my hair then rinse it with water after that I put the flaxseed gel on my hair then LCO that's it ?!with out rinse it again with water💧 ...thank you so much for great advices😍
Hi love, I would do it in this order: 1. Hair Mask + Rinse 2. LCO 3. Flaxseed Gel 4. Air dry or diffuse (whichever method you prefer) Hope this helps 💜
@@kwilliams5728 I don't remember if I tried applying it more liquidy to dry hair, but I do remember that my hair didn't seem to like it to begin with. However, I know that some people love it, so I think it just depends on hair type, condition, current hair needs, and technique.
It won't properly preserve flaxseed gel. I made an in depth tutorial on how to make your flaxseed gel last 6 months. You can watch it here: bit.ly/DIYFlaxGel
In 5:15 , you said that you use an oil to get rid of the gel. Which oil do you use. And can we use coconut oil to remove the gel? And if we're removing the gel then why we apply at the first place??
Coconut oil is a VERY heavy oil, I have used it for a mask/treatment but unless you have super course hair please don’t use it as a general hair oil. Personally I really love using jojoba oil with some rosehip oil as a general purpose hair oil as it is light and close to skin oils
When the first time I used the gel it turned out to be a whole mess , the gel wasn't coming off my scalp (like dandruff) and some dandruff like white was all over my scalp to tips idk what I did wrong?? How am I supposed to apply it???( sorry for my bad English )
It's okay🤗, styling with flaxseed gel can be tricky at first. I demonstrated how to use the flaxseed gel in my updated curly hair routine, you can watch it here: bit.ly/39Zhfj2 I share in detail how I layer my products to avoid a white gel cast. Hope this helps 💜
Please tell me after applying flexseed gel to style our curls..... Do we need to wash it out...... Or should leave the hair with felxseed gel.....? ..... Please tell me
Just use a hair oil to scrunch out the gel cast and apply it directly to the white areas. Having a white cast also means you didn't apply enough leave in conditioner before using the gel, next time use more leave in.
I made some gel the other day but my hair gets frizzy when I use the diffuser. I can't air dry where I leave is way to cold for that. Can you please help me out? Thanks!
Hi love, there are two ways I dry my curls when air drying isn't an option: 1. Diffuse using the hovering method ➡️ bit.ly/3zy3Uqo 2. Dry using my hooded dryer ➡️ amzn.to/3ENTcwQ the second option will cause zero frizz without much effort while the first option requires using a certain technique to get the results you want. Hope this helps! 💜
There is def an art to using flaxseed gel for soft frizz-free curls 💜 Link for *How to Make Flaxseed Gel* can be watched here: bit.ly/3hn1inc
I wonder if you will see this, but, my question is, can you use and leave flaxseed gel in your hair every day or do you have to wash it out daily?

That's awesome 👏🏽!
Girl! You the 🐐
YESSSS 🙌🏽🙌🏽 what was your water to flaxseed ratio to get it not to flake?
Can I use virgin coconut oil
I make it and add lavender oil, vitamin E oil and tea tree oil.

Can I just use the Flaxseed gel in the jar as an oil conditioner fir my hair & scalp??
Do u have a video is u applying this gel, then showing the process up to drying the hair?

I just made my flax seed gel and it smells like mustard seed oil....is that bad???
can i use it after applying a leave in conditioner or curl cream?
What about applying it to dry hair if you make it very thin and liquidy, like a slightly slimy liquid, rather than an actual gel?
That's never worked out for me, it leaves flakes that way but you can test it out to see if that works for you
@@LotusFlowerLife Thanks. Maybe I'll try it out of curiosity. The liquidy version worked great on wet-washed hair so far.
@angelkaterose what was your findings when you tried this method?

9:45 ,pm. Can you use flaxseed gel with other gels or mousse? Thanks
I just used it today with mousse and I love the results
Can I add store bought aloe Vera gel to make my flex seed gel last at least six months

Dang wish I had time to make this !
Thank you...🤗
You're welcome 😊
My curls gets very frizzy while air drying and i don't have diffuser . Plz help me 😢
Embrace the frizz and redo the hair sooner than you usually do
We need to wash the gel out of the hair?
No you use it as your styler

Michelle, do you have any good fragrance free leave in conditioner recs?
Hi my love, there are two that I enjoy making:
1. Curl Serum bit.ly/3EMXy8F
2. Marshmallow Root & Slippery Elm Leave In bit.ly/3Ca03j7

How long can you leave the gel in your hair before washing?
I'm sit for at least 30mins to an hour
If it’s thin does it have a lighter hold?
Yes, it will have a softer hold

White cast on hair after drying what to do after that
Just use a hair oil to scrunch out the gel cast and apply it directly to the white areas. Having a white cast also means you didn't apply enough leave in conditioner before using the gel, next time use more leave in.
@@LotusFlowerLife could i use a leave-in spray before applying the gel or does it have to be a leave-in cream?
@@MJ-wb5lq If you use a leave in spray make sure to seal in with a lightweight oil before applying the flaxseed gel to avoid flaking.
Is this okay to use on protein sensitive hair?
I have protein sensitive hair and it works perfectly for me. I do only apply once a week though.

Your curls are fire!!! What's your nationality?
Can I leave the jell in my hair for two to three days without washing and does the smell go away when it dries?
Yes you can, flaxseed gel has a very subtle scent when you apply and it goes away as it dries.
Why my hair breaks with flaxseed homemade gel?
Most likely need moisturizer added with yours. An oil or butter, glycerin etc. just a guess.
@@Rose_Garden1312 You’re right. Now i am using hair oil and it’s less breaking now.
It has protein, and you may have protein sensitivity
What preservative can I use in the flaxsee?
Vitamin E
I freeze mine
I'm losing so much hair due to school can I wear it to school
Question
So if putting it on your hair
Wouldnt it go bad? Because i wash once a week or once every 2 weeks
So will it go bad on my hair?
it won’t
Can i use the gel in alternative days?
