      This is what works for me!
      I have crazy alarm times (ex. 6:53, 7:27) to allot myself a few minutes between waking up and physically getting out of bed. 5 minutes is too long to where I won’t want to get out of bed, so I give myself 2-4 minutes depending on how groggy I think I’ll be

  • @sydforce
    @sydforce ปีที่แล้ว +96

    I find it helps alot with waking up to go to bed and wake up at at consistent times (taking into consideration that average time it takes to complete a sleep cycle - 90 min - so sleeping for 6, 7.5 or 9 hours) I find that when I do that my body naturally wakes up, feels more well rested and I don't need an alarm. Not that it's easy though...

    • @roozz33
      @roozz33 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great tip! Good to know is that to get there, consistently getting up at the same time is the first step. Getting to sleep at the same time doesn't necessarily work that well, since if your body is used to sleeping late it won't let you fall asleep when you want to. The first week you'll be tired, but quickly your body will be able to sleep at the time you want to

    One thing that helped me with waking up early to an alarm was to choose a cheerful/soft one that isn't set too loud and is much nicer to wake up to, compared to the loud af ones that are like BAARRP BAARP BAARP BAARP (HATE those). Experiment with the volume as well and see how low you can have it and still wake up. It always sucks to wake up at a certain time but it's definitely easier when its a bit more gentle and doesn't jump scare you awake.

I think it would work if you had a box spring?
    Maybe you just need a Rooster 😂 I thought about those robot alarm clocks that roll away from you and you have to find, because I will zombie hit snooze and have no recollection of it. 10:13 - Honestly, the time in my life when I was physically and mentally the healthiest I've ever been was when I was between semesters in college and wasn't working and I just stayed up all night/morning and slept through the day. I would got to bed around noon and wake up around 5pm naturally feeling absolutely refreshed for the first time in my entire life. If the world weren't so day-centric I seriously think those of us who are meant to be awake at night would be so much happier.

  • @planettv
    @planettv ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I though of a way EA could refresh the beds. I like the way the beds are handled in TS2 and thought maybe the game could do it that way, but then I got in idea. I have seen some custom content creators separate the mattress from the bed frame. They could have mattresses, A, B and C. Mattress A could be upgraded, but it would not be as comfortable as B, while B could be upgraded, but it would not be as comfortable as C, and C could be upgraded and that would be max comfort. There would be single and double bed versions. The single bed mattresses would have all the single bed bedding available across all single beds and the double bed mattresses would have all the double bed bedding available across all double beds. The bedding that just appears for single beds could finally get a double bed version and the bedding that just appears for doubles beds could finally get a single bed version. The game could have mattress A be free while the other two, B and C, could be a set prices, or unlocked when you reach certain levels of the handiness skill. As for toddler beds, there would be one mattress, it would have all the bedding available across all toddler beds and would be free.

    He ran and still runs building firms but still does work himself by request or for friends, and tiling is the worst because he gets SO meticulous about it. So of course all clients insist he does it even though it takes much longer - and he's in there having panic attacks over the one slightly skewed tile noone else will EVER notice. xD Poor man.
    I had to come confirm it was "passable" when he was in a rush to lay some flagstone because a worker was sick. Every other frickin sidewalk in the area looked crooked afterwards.

    Hmm, I might have to shell challenge this lot for giggles. Been bummed with Sims 4 ever since decorator gigs bugged to never finishing for the one sim I actually wanted to play. So I started a Casanova game out of sheer angst and was shorty reminded just how easy it is to get sims to cheat on their spouses... while said spouse is home, no less. Lily Feng has a sudden gaggle of toddlers and baybays while her husbando is either completely clueless or totally into it. Hmm.

    i have the EXACT same sleep problems (also autistic). i spoke with an occupational therapist who gave me sleep hygiene tips. i now try to be in bed by midnight every night regardless of whether or not i'm tired. by doing this i usually manage to wake up by 8am (and actually hear my alarms sometimes).

    I hate the height of the windows placed.it's way too high. Ib real life, windows like that don't cut in to walltrims at the top of the wall. They need to be lowered...

    I had an alarm clock a loooong time ago, it had a crowing cockerel setting. I still don't know what happened to that clock but I recently remembered how... not jarring that sound was (maybe it was growing up in the country, not sure if it'll work for anyone else but thought it be worth mentioning). I downloaded a Cockerel notification recently and it works.

    Honestly something one of my friends does is sleep for 4 hours at night and 4 during the day, whether it's naps or just in one go, got mornings AND the night then c:

    I usually hate the Sims builds because I'm an architect so I just see the wrong stuff, but this is actually good!! I LOVE IT!!! Seriously it's amazing. ♥

    When I have to wake up on time I set one of those app alarms that progressively get louder until you turn it off... It sucks much less than a blaring alarm clock

    Came up with a wee rhyme to help me change my sleep patterns: 'Adjust exercise, then the time you arise.' I added activity to my days, then by the end of the day I was tired naturally, and as I started falling asleep earlier, I woke up earlier. Also have more energy from exercising! I got an alarm off Amazon that mimics sunrise and plays bird calls, and placed it so I need to get out of bed to turn it off. I only turn on gentle lights when I wake up as well. My kitty takes me for walks first thing, too, so if I sleep through, I might wake up to a fuzzy face peering into mine, or be nuzzled awake! 😻

    First, my issue with all the beds is you have to have a headboard. I have one of the stupidest fears and that's falling out of bed. I'm almost 45 years old and I'm not joking, I'm still afraid of falling out of bed. My bed is literally a box-spring and a mattress. I can't handle a bed-frame because because I'm afraid I'll fall out of bed. What I did was I took a quilt my mom made me and hung it on a curtain rod above my bed as a mock headboard.
    Second, for getting up in the morning, what about if you had a coffee maker in your bedroom that worked on a timer. Set the timer for when you intend on getting up so the smell of brewing coffee, something we know you like, is what wakes you. Then, your first thought isn't, I have to get up, it's I smell coffee.

    For sleeping and waking up, I use a whitenoise app (literally just called that I believe) on my phone (android so I'm not sure what apple phones have) that has loads of different sounds for sleeping and waking up. One that I use to wake up is a sound that has windchimes and singing birds, but I don't know if that'd work on a heavy sleeper lol. Unless you turned up the volume all the way maybe. But there's tons of different sounds on it that you can try, if you haven't already. You can even create your own sounds but I haven't used that bit myself so I don't know how it works.

    I'm 100% the same with alarms! Recently I've been using my phone alarm with no sound and just it vibrating against my table, but that's not for waking up, it's just for telling me when I can eat after taking my thyroid meds

    I **NEVER** let my good sims have a bed under a window, not just feng shui but it's also said you're more likely to catch a cold... so only the sims I hate get beds near windows on principle

    They have some alarm clocks that simulate sunrises and play natural sounds to gradually wake you up, if that would work for you. They don't work for me because I risk sleeping through loud af traditional alarms, I'm a different person when trying to wake up lmao. But maybe it'd work for you 👀

    We sound very similar in being very efficient at night, hating falling asleep and waking up. I have to be medicated to sleep or I don’t but I swear when 10pm hits it’s like someone gave me adrenaline, I suddenly want to clean my whole house and do everything I put off earlier in the day. I won’t sleep at night without meds at all, it’s kind of a problem. Anyways, the only thing I found to wake me up pleasantly without making me sensitive to the stereotypical alarm sound-I still cringe when I hear it on tv shows-is this alarm clock that mimics the sunrise to wake you up. A lot of what our natural wake up needs is sunlight especially people who have their circadian rhythm off. The alarm clock is half of a bulb on top with the time and buttons on the bottom and it slowly gets brighter from one time till the time you want to get up. Instead of jarring you awake it slowly brings you back nicely so you don’t get that annoying jerk reaction when you were sleeping really well. If you google sunrise alarm clock there’s a few variations but I’m sure most of them do the same thing. When I use it it’s the only time in my entire life that I’ve woken up pleasantly cuz I am NOT a morning person and am perfectly happy staying up all night and sleeping all day but like you said, it’s not very realistic in this world lol.

    regardig the alarm clock conundrum, you might want to look into alarms designed for Deaf and HoH people. I've read about a vibrating alarm that is placed under the mattress. Maybe that'll do the trick.
