Yes, I d miss the normal size telescope. One of my favourite objects in real life, and in Sims 3. Can remember looking high and low for a telescope, when first playing Sims 4...along with the pool and a car. Babies are not objects. Babies, telescopes and cars, please.
In sims 3, i would use the normal telescope to spy on the goths when they had a fight( which was often) 😂

THANK YOU for preserving the Goths' personality in your build! So many other simmers have criticized the Goth house, redone it , and made it look like a bunch of rich normies live there. And you're absolutely right about the Addams not being tory. In the original 60s show they regularly donate to charity, get involved in their local community, and in one episode Morticia explicitly tells her children not to gloat about the fact that they live in a nice, big house because others are less fortunate. True leftist icons.

@@rachelwilson1718 Yeah Freud was the starting point and he definitely brought up a number of things to be explored but many of his ideas were very out there and just wrong. Freud didn't really have a lot to go off of in the beginning so I'm glad more psychologists came along to expand upon his theories and turn down his others. Also I'm pretty sure Freud was known to be an addict while coming up with all sorts of theories.

I've always felt the goths stink of tory. They give long line of Etonian vibes but they probably have one of those crazy family stories about an ancestor who was a vampire and they played that quirk til it died, and then kept playing it. They always across snooty and pretentious to me, totally above everyone else in the world. So Tories make sense as their build style to me

I know that one of the directors is a life long fan, but I could not work on the Sims, and then also want to play it on the weekend. you'd want to do ANYthing else when you stop working.

As someone who has also been depressed for a very long time, keep pushing on! It honestly does get better, you're still here which is amazing and you absolutely can do anything you put your mind to when you're ready

Trust me it does get better. I used to be so depressed and anxious I couldn't walk into a classroom. I'm now 25 and everyone comments on how confident I am and how I just don't give a shit.
Focusing on yourself and working on making yourself better really does help.😊

That "It's gonna get better" made me cry, I know that it's not a special sentence or anything, and it's not even revelation type news. But, I've been in a rough patch and to just hear someone say "its gonna get better", it made me really happy. Thanks Jesse

These talks really help. I'm in a similar place with learning to deal with new mental health struggles, though I'm definitely nowhere near as far along. It really helps with my anxiety to hear someone else have these struggles and come out the other end.

It's cos a lot of subcultures come out of a rebellion against the system. If you don't have money, you're not gonna waste it on subculture. But for those with high disposable income, it's quite common throughout modern history

FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY - it's a quote that helped me get over my performance anxiety on teaching yoga. It's still slow going but I definitely am getting more comfortable and confident bit by bit since I graduated a month ago.

Sims would rather pee themselves than vacate their bowels in the nearby toilet, they'd rather pass out on the grass than take a gander at the bed, and when they do deign to fall prey to the mortal requirement of sleep, they take a nap on the FOOKIN COUCH.

I've been a dancer for most of my life, and since something kinda dark happened to me last year, I couldn't dance anymore. I'm trying to get back to it, and it truly is about listening to yourself, and not wanting to go faster than your mind allows you to. Exactly! That's what I always felt like with the Goth family. Besides, having studied the political history of the UK as part of my A Level (many many moons ago) I learned that a lot of the rich old families (who would have been Tory) eventually ended up quite financially poor, just "asset rich". Like its all well and good having a massive manor house, but you can't put food on the table with it. And to sell it to release the money you need to have someone to wants to buy it from you. If all the other rich people already have all the houses they want, then what?
So in my mind, the Goths inherited this big old house which has been in the family for hundreds of years, but now its run down and they're just doing their best to get by. Like sure it looks grand, but it also looks dated which fits since big country houses would go through generational changes & remodelling but the Goth house looks like they weren't able to do so. They're just a creepy kooky family trying to do their best. Maybe their ancestors were Tories but they're not!

I've had major anxiety when it came to driving and for a year I just didnt drive. Luckily I'm only 20 so it didn't affect me heavily (here is SA the usual age to get your drivers is 18). But the only way i was able to get passed it was to push myself and just do it. And it's so refreshing hearing you speak about your anxiety with work/TH-cam and handling with it in the same way. I'm so happy for you that you are finding your way and finding what makes you happy 🤍

This video oddly helped me with some anxiety I'm feeling today... Even just you saying that your anxiety is a "liar" rang true to me right now. The things I'm anxious about today are non-existent and not necessarily normal "stressors" and that really hit hard.
I've also been talking about medication since I've had depression and GAD all my life and been discussing it more with my therapist the last 2-3 years and your message, along with seeing how it helped my brother, have really motivated me to pursue this change because I'm tired.

I've been struggling with my mental health for a few years now and have pretty much been in "survival mode", doing the "must"s and "have to"s, but not having the energy or motivation to do much else. I recently reached a point where I decided that I wanted to do some thing for me, something I'd enjoy and that would make me happy. I have been struggling with it and the motivation a little but listenting to Plumbella really makes me feel better and feel like I can keep going.
It's okay to not do your make up or put yourself into uncomfortable situations.
It's okay to work at your own pace.
It's okay to not have to do everything, always.

Hey Jessie! Something I learned from being a psych major is that internally the pathways of anxiety and excitement are very similar, so sometimes you can tell your brain that the anxiety you feel is actually excitement and change how you experience the emotion! It obviously doesn't work 100% of the time, but I've found it super helpful to not only manage my anxiety but also get excited about the things I used to love again!
How the hell you made a sims four house look straight out of the sims three supernatural world, though I just watched it happen, I will never know.

I wanted to thank you for talking about your mental health so openly. You're the reason I finally talked to my doctor about my own anxiety and stopped pretending that I was fine when I was having panic attacks every day. Turns out I have PTSD and GAD and now I am also saying fuck off to my mental imbalance. I started taking meds and I'm starting to feel like myself again. So really, thank you, you don't even know how much you've helped me. 💜

Let me not talk about the build for a quick moment here because you made me cry like a person who has been stuck inside the house for a year and is trying to figure out their own life. Thank you for being so open and honest with us. You are really inspiring. What you said about anxiety from doing things you love hit me like a ton of bricks, but I needed that. I needed to hear someone tell me everything you said, and tell me it's going to get better. I love you
My therapist actually agrees with you about doing things that make me anxious. She said it's like lifting weights, if its a little tricky it's going to make you stronger as your body adjusts, but if its toooo heavy you could injure yourself and have a set back. So she recommended me to do slightly scary things over and over until they're less scary and then add the next scariest thing and so on and so on. It's been really helpful.
