I'll just come out and say it - the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U is hands down the best bang-for-your-buck wireless microphone system I've tested. A dual channel, true diversity, UHF mic setup at this price is unheard of. It offers amazing build and sound quality in a rack-mountable design with 4x half-wave antennas. The screens on both the receiver and transmitters and clear and legible and the auto-scan function and squelch controls are essential for the working DJ or band. This is now my go-to recommendation for a wireless microphone system.

If you don't have an Amazon prime account, you need one! I do almost all of my shopping through Amazon and many of the products on this channel are sold there. It's great to have the things I need show up on my doorstep in a day or two (or sometimes even a few hours). You can try it for free for 30 days here: amzn.to/3b6rAo1. Trust me, you won't go back to life before Amazon prime!

Thank you! Supper helpful!
I've been looking for a nice pair of RF's like this!! Thanks for the video!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Excellent explanation of the unit keep it up us DJ's appreciated
Appreciate you watching man! Thanks for the support, happy to keep it up 👏🏽
Thanks. I have a couple Shure UA221 passive combiners which I was thinking about using with this. Would adding these improve or hinder performance?
I have the single mic 1u version and it had replaced my $900 Shure digital as my lead mic. Amazing mic not just for the money but it would be worth it if they charged $500+
As a Dj I like all your reviews. Please recommend the a dual handheld and lavalier
I have the 71a...and the only reason i didnt replace the others was that the LED turned off and in church persons maybe muting the mic or turning it off without knowing. Does the LED display stay on on this model when on or does it turn off after a few seconds. If it stays on its a winner.
Is there a pad switch on the transmitter? For loud singers so they don't clip the transmitter going into the receiver?
Great review. Is this system better then the X-DUOMIC M100?
do you have issuse with the handheld microphones handling noises?
I just bought the latest model Phenyx Pro Wireless Microphone System, True Diversity Dual Cordless Microphone Set and couldn't get one that worked properly. I loved the price point and really wanted this to work but just fell short.
What was wrong with it?
Good review! Since there are 4 antenna's is it possible to add 2 more mics?
No, 'True Diversity' means it uses two antennas and two receivers inside to minimize signal issues. It takes the two incoming signals on channel A and whichever one is stronger, it allows it to go to the mixer. It's like having two goalies. If one misses the ball, the other one should get it...
We have a Phynyx PTU-7000A4 system and I do hear more hand noise and also the noise when a boom mic is raised or lowered. You said the squelch lowered interference. Would it also function as a low level noise cutout?
Hey Richard! Unfortunately that noise is one of the downsides of many of the more affordable mic systems. Squelch is more for radio frequency cutoff, so I don’t think it will affect the noise cutoff.
If you are having problems with mic handling noise like that turn on the high pass filter for that channel and turn the bass down a little bit. It should get rid of most of the rumble. If you have a digital mixer with a gate you can engage that as well and have it listen for a specific frequency and open up when someone is speaking.
@@BluNoseReindeer Thanks for the info. The Mic set does not have a high pass filter and we just use a very basic Amp. I will try the Base. Since Covid we are still using a boom instead of handing off the mic and it has helped a lot.
Am looking at going to wireless micks in our church. Al this we are having blood overs. Will this give me the sound and stop others from talking while in use
Is this available in Amazon Canada?
Hey, thanks for watching! I double checked Canada’s Amazon and am not seeing it yet - I’ll update you when I see it pop up!
Thank you, will surely try this one
Would you recommend two PTU-1Us or this? Just wondering if you had an issue with this receiver you wouldn't lose both mics
Shure has had a dual diversity mic since 1987 but this is cool
For sure, nothing groundbreaking except for the price! Love to see it. Thanks for watching man!
@@fayzereviews yeah nothing short of a virtual hologram screen would impress me.
i have the 1U. The plosives on it are pretty bad tbh
Thanks for using your brain and making a good video with a good review.
FYI... The "wind sock" has been built into the grill of every handheld mic that I have used since the early 2000's... No need for a separate one.
The benefit of the external is that you can wash the vocal spray AKA spit, off them 💦
@@AmazeStudios You can and should do the same to the internal one as well just unscrew the cover and pop it out. You can buy extras of these as well. Even if you use an external one.
Still missing the Battery metter in the Base 🥹
