Got this at Barnes and Noble round about a year ago and it's easily one of the best Bibles I've got; if anyone's looking for any KJV Study Bible, this easily should be the first choice. 😁

What impressed me about the Concordance, is that it is keyed to Strong's numbering system.

Thank you Maybe having an overhead camera would be better in some cases of showing the pages clearer.

I would think that Scofield would have forever turned us off from "study" bibles. Sola Scriptura.

there is a big difference between the Scofield Study bible and this one...though I like the Scofield bible very much... Most ..... like you have a complaint.. because they feel study bibles are pretty much "one sided".. in their ideology.. and note presentation.. and you would be correct in thinking that way.. regarding the Scofield...Dake's ..Thompson's... Spurgeon...Matthew Henry AND Ryrie... study bibles.....
the complaints I have heard regarding Scofield?.. he's a dispensationalist.... SO?...
Ryrie... he is one also. .SO?.. Dake'?... well he's a Pentecostal.... Spurgeon... ?... he smoked too many cigars... Matthew Henry?.. to antiquated in his mentality..
You or people in general can and will always be able to find fault in somebody else's ideology other than their own..
but THIS bible... just like the King James.. has a whole team of scholars behind it... so it is Not just the ideology of ONE person.. but it is compiled by a committee that critiques each other's work..... you will Not get One.. person's point of view.. from this bible.. You will get information gathered and compiled.. by a group of individuals...that will Not be one sided...

I used to carry the Thomas Nelson study bible to church back and forth... but I found that most of the time.. I did Not use the study notes in church during the preaching.. and so.. I found a good readable KJV that was easier to carry just to take to church... I do appreciate the older renditions of the Nelson study bible a bit more.. since their font size is a about 1 point larger than even this newer illustrated supposedly "large print"... edition... and the print in the newer illustrated one is Not quite as dark.. the print in my older Nelson's is BLACK.. where as this is sort of a light black..

I found the Notes in Thomas Nelson to usually more explanative and in line with independent Baptist views.

The biggest problem with the 2nd Edition is how it spells the word spirit.
The 2n Edition has a small “s” for Spirit of God meaning not the Holy Spirit but rather an angel or some thing like it in Genesis 1:2 whereas in the Full Color Edition the same verse is a capital “S” meaning the Holy Spirit.
A small difference in spelling can make a profound difference on how to interpret Scripture!!

Amen, that's a problem with the publishers not the King James Bible. I'm just pointing this out for anybody else who might see this and use it as one of their reasons to attack the KJV. They do it all the time but in all actuality the AV 1611 is God's perfect, preserved word. Every jot and tittle matters.

@@oshea2300ou should read the Challoner Revision of the Douay-Rheims Bible. Then we won’t have to listen to your yelping as you dance on the flames. Or study Haydock’s notations to the Douay-Rheims. Then you will finally be on the right track!

Very interesting indeed. I would like to have a KJ version using a lot more maps. Example- Map of Israel , naming all the cities, towns, and villages mentioned in Scripture- (Gen. 14:5-7) REBELLION: concerning the conquest of the giants (V7) And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar. “HAZEZONTAMAR” Would you know that this ancient name of Engedi is in Syria.? It was a sizeable city when Hebron was built (2 Chr. 20:2). Yes, I am sure that many of these tribes moved onto their land started as a small village, then within a few generations became a town, followed by becoming a city. Doing a google search makes this even more inaccurate, but using the Israeli map search reveals a settlement Mezad Tamar instead and on this map shows an Israeli national trail running past this site. Then we have a biblical word En-gedi in (Ezek. 47:10) was located at about the middle of section of the Dead Sea, on the western bank. (V10; 1 Sam. 23:29) En-gedi, means the fountain of the kid, was a city, originally called Hazezontamar-tamar and it was the home of the Amorites. The fountain which comes out of the mountainside about 400 feet, above the sea is still called Ain-jidy, from which the city took its name. Near it are the ruins of several buildings. The old city site was on the level ground at the seashore, which is still strewn with ruins. The wilderness of En-gedi included the wild and rugged mountain regions extending from the city towards Hebron, Tekoa, and Bethlehem. It was and still is the home of wild goats; and in every ravine are immense caverns in which David and his men could have hidden from Saul (1 Sam. 23:29; 24:1-2). Some could have held all of David’s 600 men (24:3)The cave of Khrureitun at the upper end of the wilderness would hold as many as 3,000. One great wall alone is said to be 45 by 120 feet and with an arched roof. Such caves are to be found throughout the East, especially where limestone abounds. The word En-gedi in the Bible is mentioned 6 times in Scripture. Now in the book of Joshua 15:20-62 mentions all the cities of Judah (key verse 62) And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages. All these cities all on one map in colour with these Scriptures mentioned would be more powerful in bringing the Bible to life (125 Cities of Judah in Joshua 15:20 - 62: 38 Southern Cities, Villages (V21-32) 15 Cities with villages (V33-36)( 16 Cities with villages versus 37-41)(9 Cities with villages verses 42-44). but today we see En-gedi, it is a Kibbutz in Israel, founded in 1953 with a population of only 588 people in 70 years, located on the edge of the Judean Desert at a historical site. Marrying up the OLD with the NEW makes maps come alive. Just saying.

I see what you mean. They are trying to correct the Scripture by saying the "oldest and best manuscripts say", thus casting doubt on the KJV. We know that what they are actually referring to is the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus which are definitely not the "oldest and best". I'd say that is a bad footnote.

I like the Bibles that have what I call Goodies (and I don't mean those three outrageous blokes from England in the seventies), that is, the additional material, like the dozens of pages they had at the start of the 1611 King James, but I would put them all at the end of the Bible, as they mainly do in the Thompson Chain Reference and the Ruckman Reference - but be aware of the distinction between the words of man and the Written Word of the Living God. Note of course, that as much as Paul is our Apostle for the Church Age (to the Jew first, then also to the Gentile), not all he has written applies to us doctrinally, and it also does not mean that we ignore what the other writers have said, where it can apply to us.
