- This video shows how I replaced the stock slip-on mufflers with Cobra 909s on my
2024 Harley Davidson Tri Glide in my backyard.
There's a comparison at the end.
Tools needed:
A 1/2" wrench and a 9/16" wrench.
A rubber mallet is handy for persuading the old ones off.
I also used an impact gun with a 9/16" socket on one of the clamps, but it's not necessary.
I'm not a trained mechanic, just a guy in his backyard.
Follow the installation instructions and use common sense.
This is an easy swap that anyone should be able to do.
I chose the Cobra 909s after reading reviews and looking at prices. I'm looking for that lower sound without blowing out the windows when I go through town at 4am.
I ordered them from PartsGiant around 5am Monday morning. They were shipped out Monday afternoon and I got them on Tuesday. Shipping was fast and free. This is my first experience with partsgiant and I'm happy. I am not affiliated with partsgiant in any way.
I was going to lift the bike off the ground a few inches (on jack stands) but after I got under it, I decided I didn't need to.
I like the Cobra 909s. I think they look and sound much better.
If you see something I could have done better, leave a comment and let me know.
At around 13:55, are some before and after clips so you can hear the difference. The clips are from 6 ft away, same camera, same remote mic.
You can really hear the difference with earbuds or good speakers.
At around 15:16, I'm going over the mountain at about 55mph. Same camera, same remote mic (clipped on to the license plate) used on both clips.
For the video:
cameras - Insta360x3 (mostly)
- GoPro Hero 5
- an old GoPro style dive light
mic - AxcessAbles Lavalier Clip On Microphone from Amazon and the Insta360 mic adapter.
edited with Insta360 app on my Samsung Galaxy s22

It's very difficult to display sound differences but you did well with that. Also, I love the fact you decided to do this on your own and not pay big bucks to the corporate man. Great job with the video also. Ride safe.
great instructions and no obnoxious music
Much better sounding
They sound great. Also like the bumper. Where’d you get that? Thnx
It's a Harley part. I think it was added by the dealer.
@@Mark-io7dx …thnx
You do know it's the hardest thing on a motor is to stop it and start it stop and start it all the time and revving it up
🤣🤣🤣
much better
You did a good job but I don't hear any difference Bobby wasn't worth the money you spent on it
