  • In this video I share some quick tips from my previous videos on how I fixed the trunk latch issue on my 2020 Tri-Glide. How I find neutral easily, how I steer my Tri-Glide. Also comparing stock bars vs my friend Harvey's 12" bars. Also how to reset your reverse motor if it stops working. I hope this video helps you and gives you some helpful ideas. Have fun but ride safe!

    Thanks Ed, I watched your video because I couldn’t open my trunk on my 2023 Tri Glide. I lubricated the ring around the lock and pushed the lock button in and out several times. Suddenly, the door opened. Because I didn’t know how to adjust the hardware, I left it alone. I appreciate this video. 🎉🎉

      Terry glad you got it open. Just keep a watch on how it's working. You may not need to adjust anything, but, if you do take it by your H-D and I'm sure they can help you out. Respectfully,

    During the winter, I asked the dealer to change my handlebars to 12 inches. I went to pick it up and I only rode about ten kilometers (about 5 miles) and I had a good first impression. I gave up on Harley Davidson. I begged for years for a factory built tri glide with a road glide fairing. They suddenly come out with a road glide 3! That was like being pissed on without the courtesy of calling it rain! So I'm done with Harley Davidson. I sold my 2018 tri glide that I outfitted with a road glide fairing and bought a new Honda Goldwing trike.

    Like your commentary. Bought a new 2021 Tri Glide. Added Vance & Hines slip ons, chrome luggage rack, hwy pegs, a rear bumper and taller lightly tinted windshield. Would like to ride one with taller bars to see if it’s worth the money to change them. I’m 6’2” 250 and doing fine with the stock bars for now. Had a real bad injury to my left ankle and foot years ago which causes to fall asleep while riding, so for safety I sold the Ultra and went with the Tri Glide for two up riding with the wife and long trips. Have a 2004 Fat Boy for local solo riding that I can still manage to hold up even when my left foot falls asleep. The Ultras are getting too heavy for us senior citizens, especially with a passenger! Safe riding my friend 👍

    Ed, you have a lot of great tips there, most of those thinks I have learned by trial and error over the last 4 years, I went with the 10"bars, they seamed to be a better fit for me, the bars that I chose are also 2" wider spread than the stock bars so I feel like I have more leverage on the bars when turning. I also have installed 1" floor board extension for the rider and passenger, just seams to be more comfortable for the wife and I.

    Ed, nice video, very informative. I had to start riding Tri Glides in 2013. I bought a used (300) miles on a 2010. In 2014, I lost the vision in my left eye. Some jerk hit me and totaled my bike. He tried to kill me but he didn’t so I bought a new 2017 . I tell you all this to explain I had put a set of 12” risers on my 2013 for all the same reasons your friend was telling you about. But, I was never as comfortable as I wanted to be, so when I got my 2017 I had the dealer put 14” risers on the bike. What an improvement over the 12”. Every body is different so I would suggest you try your buddies bikes for a short ride, 10-20 miles and then decide if the 12” or maybe the 14” riser is best for you. I did get a lot out of you segment on the trunk latch. I had trouble with it all the time on my 13 and some with my 17, but I have a good mechanic at Old Glory HD in Laurel, MD, who must have seen your video, lol, because he fixed mine and it has work great ever since. Keep up the good videos!

    There is video on Iron Heads page that exsplains what happen when you unscrew this pin. It increases the chances of leaks . If seal pushing against it causes it to pop open but you screw the pin out untill it does not pop open. When you pack your trunk with gear and the gear puts presure on door. It will pop open the same way the seal pushed it open.

    That was really helpful Ed. I bet by now you either like those bars or have upgraded? I am in the same situation and can’t decide how much longer to go? I need to sit up more and not reach so far forward! I feel my arms should be bent some and not straight. Your buddies suggestion of easier steering with a taller bar has got me thinking. Does he still like them? Stay safe.

      Thanks for watching Kevin. I have a GoPro Hero 8 Black. With the stock battery cover on they are waterproof according to GoPro. But because I attached a microphone to the GoPro adapter I had to get another battery cover that allows access to the small USB plug. So when I did that it's now not waterproof. The covers come on and off very easily and I care the stock one in my tour pack just incase I run into rain. So far I haven't when recording. Also I have the GoPro attached to the chin area, with a few adapters, so It's more of a front view. I hope this helps Kevin. Take care, Ed

    Hello Ed, just thought I would ask how you are doing since your surgery and when will you be back on the road? I have added some things to my 2011 Tri Glide but haven't ridden much because of the heat. And my wife and I have had three deaths in the family in three months and at her mother's funeral, seventeen people got Covid including the two of us. At 71 and having a liver transplant two years ago, it was tough. I hope to get on the road more often. I also thought I would ask you what you think about the mid step for a Tri Glide? It's expensive but I think it's a good thing for us older folks. Take care Ed and I hope you are doing great! Mike Brumbelow, Manchester, Tennessee

    • @TriGlideEd
      @TriGlideEd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning Mike. I'm so sorry to hear of all the loss to your family. It's tough for sure. Take your time getting back out on the road. One step at a time. Speaking of steps I think the mid step would be great. Yeah expensive for sure but I think it would be worth it. Mike, I saw my surgeon this past Friday and I actually rode my Tri-Glide yesterday for the first time in a little over 5 months. I just did a short ride of about 45 miles round trip. It felt REALLY GOOD!! but I do have to be smart with it. I actually used the passenger floor boards to get on my bike yesterday and thought to myself that the mid step sure would be good right now. I did a video of my ride and will post it in a few days. Good talking with you Mike. Take care and most respectfully, Ed

      @@TriGlideEd Great to hear you are doing well, Ed. I know it's been a long road for you. I may try to talk my wife into buying the mid step floorboards. I have two issues on the 2011 that I don't like. One is the buffeting that comes up beside the tank and rattles my head. The other is the heat off the engine. I removed the lowers off the trike and the buffeting is a little better. I know on the newer models it can't be done because of the water cooled heads. I have purchased a kit from DKcustoms that raises the tank one inch for better cooling. Also, I purchased the fins that go beside the lowers to reduce buffeting. Haven't installed these items yet, but I will this week. I have found out that a person can spend a fortune on these things. Maybe this will help. I also see folks installing Love Jugs to reduce the heat. Even more money! But, it's HD, hundreds of dollars! Will be looking forward to your new videos. Take care Ed and good to hear from you.
