Since you asked... there was a couple videos with the frs where you basically just drove around I'd like to see with the BRZ and Sti. I appreciate all you do Chris you're the most inspiring guy ever.
Sounds fire. Louder can be over rated, the tone is spot on. About to install a intake and access port on my 2021 sti tomorrow i have a ti exhaust . Let’s go, Subaru love
Bro ur vids r becoming godly mane @13:35 transition was so underrated and the angles u get have come such a long way. Been subbed for over a year now and it’s so cool seeing the journey you do with every car and keeping the same inspirational quote outro every time always makes my day. Just wanted to say keep up the great work Chris!
I just bought my first car but I’ve already had trucks. I bought a WRX and I’ve been following your videos ever since I watched everything on your red WRX and I just bought the LEDs. love the content!
STI is looking 10/10 so far! It would be cool to see a cinematic car edit with the FRS, BRZ, and STI in it! Thanks for doing the quote at the end of the video
Thanks for the boosted performance I actually did not know about them and by the current situation of cobb green speed this SOOOO! much of help thanks and thanks for this content
I'm subscribed brother. I own a 2020 STI, and I'm so happy I upgraded from the 2017 WRX to my 2020 STI. The STI is the better car by far. A great video brother as always. 😊
Catted and catless downpipes have it’s benefits and flaws to their own, catted obvi makes it give less toxic fumes and etc. also controls the boost a bit more, and is more tamed. Without that cat it lets all those toxic exhaust fumes mix with the engine and would make the backfire more aggressive and pop a lot, but could also result in boost creep because the catalytic converter is now deleted, so you may need to pay more attention to your boost or get a bigger waste-gate to handle the increase amount of pressure and air from the turbo without a cat. I’m sure I missed a bunch of other key points, but from personally having experience w/ both those are the major factors I personally experienced. Great context as always tho and it sounds awesome! Keep growing and doing what you love !
I have a modded 2020 STI. I would highly recommend you install Cobb or ID 1050x injectors, AEM 340lph fuel pump, Cobb or Grimmspeed boost controller, Cobb fuel stumble kit or an Aeromotive A1000 fuel pressure regulator/fuel line & rail upgrade and get the car open source tuned to avoid maxing out your fuel system and to avoid a P0420 fault code. I’d also get an IAG AOS, cylinder 4 cooling mod, and oil pan/oil pickup upgrade.
Ok Chris that final quote really hit me i needed that, i reacently bought a 2019 GT86 and got screwed over on the deal.. long story short i paid about $40k canadian for it in the end. Thinking to myself everyday about how im paying STI money for an 86 has been killing me, but i really do love my baby.
The car sounds sooo much better now!! And Idc what content you put out as long as you put out videos I’m happy. Love the vids! Much love from Garden Grove Ca!🫶🏼🫶🏼
The turbo whistle sounds crazy good!!🔥excited to see the next video and future ones. Opens my eyes and gives me knowledge and ideas on how i want to build my STI!! Videos are awesome keep it up!🦾
Just change the exhaust to tomei if you want loud. Tomei exhuast on a stock sti is loud on its own. Now with a catted downpipe its going to be extra loud and the cat will help it not be too raspy in the top end. Everytime you do catless you suffer from rasp at the top end unless the exhaust is resonated well.
When I did the grimmspeed downpipe I went ahead and did the uppipe and TMIC from grimmspeed as well since you have to take things apart it makes sense to those mods as well. Your car sounds good bro
Bruh the transition from backing up and then suddenly behind the camera had me tripping 🤣 All your videos give me inspiration for future BRZ mods. Keep it up!
Lmao @ “a few days later” lol you remind me of myself when I started working/learning these cars. Subarus are some of the best Japanese cars to wrench on.. Your STi looks awesome!
You need a up pipe and a turbo inlit take off the stock one get an aftermarket one and catalyst. Downpipe is your best way to go sounds louder and sounds amazing
car sounds great dude, i know you didnt wanna go the tomei route but its the best sounding especially with a dp. I love the way it sounds on mine, also little to no drone ! keep up the great vids.
@@sti_ken I ran a nameless for 4 months it was ok. I don’t like how after the y it drops down to 2 in piping. I had an awe touring after that loved it. Car sounded like a muscle car but too loud in socal, went to grimspeed which sounded better than nameless but droned like crazy. I currently run a Fujitsubo rm single exit and it’s Cali legal weighs 25 lbs and sounds great with 0 drone.
Dope vid as always! Sti looks and sounds good but it's definitely going to look better when u wrap it. I'm not a fan of silver either so that's why I wrapped my car a different color. Also, more vids of the frs. It's still my favorite.
If you ever get exhaust clips you're not happy with due to the mic or whatever, you can always edit the audio it in adobe audition or even audacity and use hard limiter to increase volume input and mess with EQ to change the sound till it sounds like what you hear in person that way the clip doesn't feel like a waste!
Yo Chris love the new exhaust set up. Been busy with school and finally catching up on the video. THE NEW BRZ AT SEMA WAS FUCKING NUTS. Hope you have a good holiday and keep at it my man!
oh yea sounds beautiful i mean a little louder might not hurt unlike the brz haha but it’s sounds really good i can’t wait for everything to come along and wait to see what’s coming ❤️🔥
I always had a catted dp. It's nice to have exhaust that doesn't give you a headache and feel like brain damage. I also feel like catless equal length header makes my car sound like a clapped out honda at take off. Header might be another think to look at if yoy want it louder for unequal length and a bigger turbo will also make it louder.

That would be fire!! 👀🔥
I had a 2011 STI with a 3inch catless downpipe + Invidia N1. Perfect set up IMO. It shot flames at high rpm's but wasn't too loud down low.
Geeeez 👀🔥
Thanks for the boosted performance I actually did not know about them and by the current situation of cobb green speed this SOOOO! much of help thanks and thanks for this content
Your WRX videos was one of the reasons I got one for myself. Much love, keep doing what you do!

Got you brother. ❤ Life’s too short! I felt same way about the STI price but hey for the experiences etc I wanna enjoy it while I can!
It sounds perfect honestly it doesn’t need to be louder
Loving the content. I get so hype when I see Chris posted a video👊🏻

Thought about pulling the trigger on a tomei. 😅
@@chris_borges Friend has one and seeing that you have one on the FR-S is almost obligatory you put one on the STI ngl lol
The turbo sounds when you reversed it at your favorite spot was 🤤!!
So sick 🔥🔥🔥
Been here since the OG InfiniteWerks days
Good times good times.
Keep it up Chris.
Wow that’s a throwback. 🥲❤️
Every mod you add is another one on my wish list
Just learning as I go! 🤝
Catless downpipe w the tomei is the perfect combo
When I did the grimmspeed downpipe I went ahead and did the uppipe and TMIC from grimmspeed as well since you have to take things apart it makes sense to those mods as well. Your car sounds good bro
Bruh the transition from backing up and then suddenly behind the camera had me tripping 🤣 All your videos give me inspiration for future BRZ mods. Keep it up!
Hahaha honestly was unintentional but worked out. 🤣🔥
Sounds good, bro. Keep up the good work, and I'm sure your neighbors are use to your loud cars by now.
Hahah hopefully they are! 🤣💯
Sounds sooooo sick bro keep it up and love the content
Appreciate that big time!
Loving the STi vids! Silver looks good imo! Black accents would look sick!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I loved the quote at the end of the video! The sti looks insane!🥳 I’m still looking for an sti 🥺hopefully I find the right one soon☺️
I had the same problem. Wanted it to be louder. You have to finish it up with the tomei headers. You wont regret it!
Hmmmm gotta look into that 😮
Yup Tomei ELH will definitely help
Catless downpipe FTW! it’ll be a lot louder, shoots flames and will sound even better honestlyy
Flames 🔥 You know me hahaha.
Sounds pretty good for being catted. Car looks good, and sounds good. Win/Win.
Dark purple would look sick almost like a midnight purple but not too dark would look mad sick with the brakes and rims 🔥
that contrast 🔥👀
Its sounding so clean bro !! 🔥 keep up the work ! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Much love bro!! ❤
Bro thx 9:32 my car has one and tbh I didn’t know how to use it properly lmao but now I do ❤
Got you! 💯
Brooo it’s sounds so good! And also it looks so clean😍👌🏽
Appreciate that Alan. ❤
loving how it sounds
thanks man ❤
chris always coming in hot with a banger. I love these exhaust related videos my bro!!
My fav are exhaust vids 👀🔥
Downpipes are gonna be huge
😬😬😬
Get some Equal Length header and external wastegate with FMIC and BOV. Sound would be nice, louder and more power.
EWG is definitely on my wish list 🔥
Love the Sti videos🔥
My wrx just got totaled on Sunday so I’m hoping to start the year off in an Sti 🤞🏼
Thanks man. ❤ So sorry to hear that man but I hope you’re ok through it all. Cars are always replaceable. 🙏🏻

You need a up pipe and a turbo inlit take off the stock one get an aftermarket one and catalyst. Downpipe is your best way to go sounds louder and sounds amazing
I swear Chris always perfectly posts whenever I get bored of life 😅
Hahaha got you!! 😂❤
car sounds great dude, i know you didnt wanna go the tomei route but its the best sounding especially with a dp. I love the way it sounds on mine, also little to no drone ! keep up the great vids.

Loving it bro keep it up big dog! Cant wait to cruise with you one day when you bring it over to the east coast
Bro I would loveeeee to bring a car out there…
Chris almost at 100k 😮 you came along way 🔥🔥
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You should tried the Nameless Performance catback I run a 3.5inch pipe with 4inch tips and I absolutely love it cause it sounds aggressive
Lol every cat back sounds aggressive on an sti. Tomei and awe are definitely the top 2.
Hmmmmm 👀👀
@lucian7182 true but how many people you know that run a nameless

Do you have a check engine light on after the install? After Cobb Green speed I'm not sure if all aftermarket DP result in permanent CEL.

great mod Bro... made a huge difference

My boy Chris finally

yess i love the sti content #roadto100k
Glad you like it man! ❤
You'll boost creep with a catless DP, you'll have to change your up pipe to run an external wastegate to control the boost properly.
But it sounds crazy under boost and its safer, i'd recommend going external wastegate :D
Appreciate the feedback!
EWG is where it’s at
As always enjoying your content🔥🤙!! Not going to lie tho sliver color has been growing on me lol!!
Thanks bro! And same it lowkey is but still wanna wrap it asap lol!
Keep the STI clean, and just enjoy it

Question so how do you know the down pipes that won’t throw a code for the STI and WRX?
Sounds mint IMO but what about some induction mods? Intake/Intercooler/BOV type stuff either wait can't wait to see the color change 🔥
Goals definitely!
Apologies for the long message in advance....
I'm new to the STI platform and have a question in regards to the up & downpipe. I have several big HP GM LS & LT vehicles ranging from 630whp to 1,017whp. So in no way, shape or form am I trying to build this car, but want it to run the way it should once the real tuning starts. I recently purchased this STI to replace my Focus ST, which was my daily. Immediately, the STI became the far more fun to drive vehicle than the ST ever was, and can corner nearly as stable as my CTS-V3. Long story short, the STI ran good with the patches the used car dealership done to sell the car or the previous owner stripped it before selling it because there are signs where an AOS would've been located, or possibly a DP by looking at the broken zip ties.
The car currently has the SRS non muffler axle-back "and sounds great", Cobb Carbon Fiber Intake, and an OTS map. I recently replaced the turbo inlet due to half of it being mounted onto the turbo with the bottom nearly halfway in the turbo itself, so I replaced it as well with a Perrin. Car ran fine for a few days, but the PCV valve that I thought I cleaned up pretty well stuck again. So, it's torn down again at the moment to replace with a new OEM piece. While I have a lot of the shielding off to put new clamps on the turbo drain, I want to know if the DP and UP worth it?
More than likely I'm going to go catted since I don't want it excessively louder than what it is, but wanting to cure the well known problems that exists, along with the weight, and bulkiness in itself.
Is it worth the money, what's the typical whp gains, and overall driveability/reliability of the car afterwards?
As far as the DownPipes, are there any benefits with the divorced DP and the standard DP? At the moment I'll be keeping some type of recirculating BOV. May upgrade once tuning, but don't plan to vent to the atmosphere.
Understand that the FP may have to get upgraded, but hopefully you can tell me yes or no. But the car will not see E85, and only pump 93.... Will the Injectors be enough for those few boltons?
2019 STI Base & thank you in advance for any info provided.
Remember wrx and Stis are completely different cars but! If u do catless it might be more of a hastle but just yolo it
Might just stay catted. Lotta you guys are recommending to!
With catless now with Cobb tuning your going to be running into problems with emissions and what not since your from Cali
If yer gonna wrap it… might as well de-badge it!
Did mine yesterday! Looks way cleaner. You could make a vid on that for sure🤙🏼
Bet bet bro 🫡
Sound amazing dude, love it!
thanks dude!!
wrap choice video! like colours your thinking of doing! and the car sounds sick! lots of pops and bangs for light revs, maybe running a little rich? either way sounds DOPE!
Yup some pops here and there! It’s sick.
It’s the cats that are muffling it. I got ELH with catless DP and Greddy SP mufflers. It screams.
Sounds like a real subie now 🔥🔥
Ayyeee forsureee 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Ayyy!! 🎉
How do you tune with the downpipe and not get a check engine light ?
You can’t
Does the the cobb greenspeed update affect anything with your downpipe?
^^
Change out the header and you'll be all set, the best sounding car ever
👀👀👀👀
You should do a race between the sti and the FRS
👀👀👀🔥
your car looks sick! some carbon subie emblems would make a world of a difference on that color!
Emblems are in my cart LOL!
U should get diff blowoff valves to here the turbo flutters
