That idle issue could be a bad tune from the previous owner if they had FBO before reverting it back to stock. Love the look with the coilovers and the fitment is on point, honestly a track stance would be clean and when you add more power to the car it will be perfect! Yeah, my 21 Wrx does the same thing, got mine with 7 miles and it always did the fluctuation but only when the ac is on, doesn’t do it if the ac is off. Oh and , mines also ice…..when it’s wet its fkn weeeeeeeeeet! Goood choice on the color, even tho you don’t dig it from the bat.

Hey Chris my 2012 sti had the same issue for a while it’s not the ac. If the other previous owner did any sort of tuning the cars not liking it. Congrats on the new project.
The idle issue is normal, it’s probably the vacuum fluctuating, you can give it a tiny bit of gas and you’ll notice the vacuum pressure drops and it idles normal. This is also more common with ac on, so don’t run ac on a cold start wait a minute or so

Oh man ever since owning my Impreza almost a year but it had a engine swap and I myself fully rebuilt my trans took it down and took it apart had to split in half to swap out the input shaft it was a pain just for that seal, installed a new clutch my first time doing any of this but man my car drives awesome!
I’d suggest you take it to a dealership before doing the accessport, or tapping into the ecu.. dealership didn’t want anything to do w mine after they seen it’s been “tuned” more aggressively.

As for the fitment and ride height, I think it honestly depends on your end goal, for my purpose is a bit too low since I drive cars really hard (Still remembered mom's face after I blown off 3 hubcaps on my first canyon drive in my mom's corolla a week after I got license in 16🤣) and I often found that a low ride height made my car scrape a lot, unless I use very stiff springs which made the car unbearable on California bumpy city road lols. I smashed the oil pan after I caught air in that infamous dip at otay lake road and I learned the hard way oof. But if you aren't driving like a maniac and are not doing a tone of canyons driving, the ride height looks pretty good. After you put some wheels, it will look perfect as a show car that are also fun to drive! looking forward for more videos, keep up your good work!
My frs does the weird idle thing too, especially when the AC is on. I’ve just left it and it’s fine. I think it only happens with the ac. Sounds like it’s gonna bog down and then doesn’t

I got a 17 sti never experienced that & my buddy has a 19 sti & he has the same “ issue “ very common that I have notice from the 18+ coming from a subaru tech 🤟🏼cars looks clean btw
You can add fog lights to these 2018+ I did it on my 2019 because the headlights suck and my sight was so much better with LED fogs. Look into it if you’re interested !

Hey Chris, I have multiple subarus and all of them have the same idling issue your having, it's perfectly normal for subarus and it's usually worse with the ac running, hope this helps.

The idle is normal if you put the ac on and it’s idling you’ll hit around the 1.2k rpms no need to worry completely normal

I had that same idling issue on my 2020 Sti, after a bit my camshaft 2 sensor gave out, it’s common in our cars but it might be that.
