Even though the engine is not up to much, a lot of people will find the videos useful, it’s always good to see inside before you have a go yourself. Thanks for the mention, and sorry to keep hitting you on the head hahahah!
Hi Tony. That's the what I thought, plus I haven't got any other content to put out there at the moment lot.... Most welcome tony hope it helps. Thanks for the comment buddy.
Hi Jonny I know your definitely get it done like your very determined I rebuilt my 31 yr old Kawasaki GPZ I know it’s only a twin but getting parts was another Challenge. Was a very naughty boy today had a run in with pc plod at the last second I was over taking a lorry roughly 125 seen the plod in the lay-by has I pulled back in next a unmarked black Audi lit up like an Xmas tree pulled me over crapped myself asked how fast I was going I said 85 called me a liar we were doing 105 and said I pulled away from them like they were parked they I must of been doing 150 said no way to them but I was going 145 they said your a very very lucky man said why am I because I over took some more vehicles they couldn’t get a lock on me so they gave me a right Bollocking. Said next we will get you shaking like a leaf learnt my lesson today. Anyway back to your video don’t let nothing beat you waiting for the next one thanks for sharing it 👍👍👍
Hi Derek. Thanks for the comment buddy. Wow dude 145 is suicide on a public road I know it's easy to get stuck in fast mode but you've got to think it's probably going to be your last ride. Step sun new year's eve, M1 128 mph instant ban. Your so lucky dude. Slow it before it's too late. Stay safe Derek.
Another interesting vid John, are you going to take the head off the cbr engine? Head gaskets aren't too expensive around 40 quid and there is an off chance that it might be okay.. Have you checked the oil for water? and dropped the sump to see whats going on in there?.Although unlikely, the previous owner might have left the engine open and just shoved in any old spark plug to close it back up before sale. Could still be worth a look. Dunno if you have access to one of those borescope devices to have a look inside. Either way hope you can get something sorted. Thanks for the vid. edit- someone suggested pouring some diesel into the bore if its seized to hopefully free it up.
Thanks buddy. That's the strange thing there's no traces of water in the oil what so ever. But anyway I've ordered a new top end gasket set so I will be rebuilding the top end shortly. Stay safe stay well.
Hi I've seen your video on the CBR the cam chain does the engine has to come out when you're doing it because I'm thinking of buying one of these bikes just that I've heard they do suffer from cam chain rattle or can you do it when the engine is in the frame thanks David
Fairly sure your not meant to fill the tensioner with oil as you essentially hydrolock it. If you do then from what i hear you need to take the tensioner back out and drain it upside down for 20-30 minutes or so to give all the oil chance to come out before reinstalling
@@jonyr1TT No problem at all mate, I'm just about to replace the cam chain on mine so been doing a bit of research before i get stuck in and thats one of the things i have heard from a few sources 👍😊
@@jonyr1TT Just read the manual and yes it is right. You only fill the tensioner chamber of oil as a test to see if the plunger is in good working order. It should lock when moved quickly and if it doesn't then this indicates a bad tensioner which needs renewing. If it passes the test then oil should be drained out before reinstall into the bike 👍

Didn't realise external mic wasn't working when I made the video but realised it could still be heard if the volume was turned up.. I think it's still a very useful video though.

Hi. May be the tension is to lose or to tight but as I say in a lot of my videos I'm not a trained mechanic.

Hi if you're using a open link chain you could do it with the engine still in the frame 👍

@@jonyr1TT hi I have a cbr1000 f with a cam chain rattling is it possible you could have a look or do for me please. tony
I'm not a mechanic. But I do know it's about £250 for the gaskets and chain then you've got to totally strip and rebuild the engine.
Why the heck do you got to whisper in your videos
