I think you are the only reviewer out there that does pad rolling and does measurements to show the effects of the different pads. There really should be more reviewers that do this...
Even I get it wrong sometimes... I should've rolled pads on those TH808's 3 months ago, but I was too focused on making a review on a new product as-is. Turns out, most owners swear by certain pads, so I missed out there.
Thanks for the great video. I have those exact headphones. The connection where the wire goes into the headphone gives me trouble. The right channel intermittently cuts in and out. I can usually over it by turning the jack to the left and right. Can you recommend how I can fix that?
Due to the age of the headphone it's most likely caused by oxidized contacts on the plug and socket. I had exactly the same problem. I bought some electrical contact cleaner spray fluid, sprayed the plug, inserted the saturated plug into the socket and plugged it in and out a bunch of times with some twisting. Then, wipe away the excess after 10-15 seconds. That cleaned it right up for me. If it's really bad, try 2 or 3 cleaning cycles, but it usually works the first time. If you don't have electrical contact cleaner, try isopropyl alcohol to start with, but definitely won't be as effective.
That drivers a beaut, ive never had the opportunity to try a fostex but i really like their aesthetic design, very retro futuristic.
A classic! Also one of the most beautiful drivers in a planar imo

Thank you! Last I checked all I have is a couple original T20 V1 rounds. Curious about sonic differences due to housings.
GREAT VIDEO.
