Had them for a bit and loved them but hated them at the same time. Eventually returned them. Loved the sound hated that they physically put me in unbearable pain after 10 mins in my ears. The pressure and the gigantic nozzle size murdered my ears. The whole sides of my head would ache in pain.
Can this headphone support DTS headphone x and Dolby Atmos.if no please recommend me best headphone for music and gaming.thanks
All passive headphones support digital post-processing. Whether it sounds good or not is up to the user. There is no such thing as the 'best headphone' for anything. Everyone hears differently as your 'best' will be different to most others.
So can this bluetooth link to your phone and bluetooth speakers at the same time?
The bluetooth on the iFi Zen One is a RECEIVER only. It will allow you to connect your phone or PC and stream music wirelessly FROM the phone/PC to the iFi Zen One, and only one at a time.
The packaging is just as great as the headphones ! Back when I was using portable cassette players they'd always get chucked in my backpack as you mentioned, so that would have been ideal, aside from the ridiculous winding there.
VERY useful, thanks. This £84.99 currently on Amazon (UK) with a voucher, so its very good value.
really like to see how you power it and rig it to amplifier....really
Power = USB-C to PC Amplifier - it IS the amp... and I use a mini DIY 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from SK02 AUX-Out to the 3.5mm input on the SK01
I am exactly the sort of person to be enamored by that CD case form factor. Absolutely adorable and probably made for a dorky but delightful party trick back in the day. The practicality, as you say probably leaves something to be desired but god that is just the cutest little thing. That they actually seem to sound pretty good too is just the cherry on top.
Btw, Ian still trying to EQ jvc ha D990 to harman as close as I can/hear with wavelet and apo-peace, if you have and idea, will be glad to see it in your site maybe. Btw I've changed pads for bigger leather 2.5cm depth pads with inner side "dotting". Differs from shure pads, but better to my mind. Clamp, air, space.
I'll mess around with the D990 again when I get around to reviewing it. I havn't got it out in a couple of months 😅
@@GREQReviews Thank you!
Interesting pair. Maybe if you find it very cheap, just for some different experience with EQ.
I tried it with the 770 pro 250 and i found it a little low on sound, the bass a little too
Honestly that surprises me. I wonder if you're system volume is not set to 100%?
Is the EW300 for trebleheads too? I'ma basshead 😅
EWE300 is NOT for bassheads. It's more neutral, leaning to treble-head. Although, typically, I don't associate being a treblehead with enjoying shrill, piercing treble... from my POV it's more about the focus of enjoying slightly bright and VERY well extended, airy treble.
@GREQReviews well explained, thanks you. Happy New Year!
id love to see them offer a bass version like HiSenior did with the Mega5EST (that I now own and love). I would have to get it as it’s unique. I like your style and voice
The hd 250 linear is amazingly good 👍
Can any say what pad replacement I put on this jt1
Have you tried the orchestra lite with an aftermarket ear tip? Tangzu tang sancai wide bore ear tips were recommended to me as a good way to reduce the ear pressure. Ordered them but haven’t tried them yet
@chaffiebombs I have not. The ear pressure thing was never a big problem for me to, so I've not needed to find a solution to it.
Thanks for the video. Do you know which DAC chip is used on the board? Can not find it on the PCB? Thanks!
It is the ATS2853 chip.
@@GREQReviews Thanks for the prompt reply. Is it good? Comparing to 9038 or 4493?
I don't think that's a fair comparison, since the DAC chip only services the bluetooth module. I've never actually heard of or seen any reviewer comparing bluetooth DACs with standalone or combo DACs, but also because realistically you can't do it without also comparing the amp stage, etc.
@@GREQReviews Roger! I mean, in some designs, instead using the internal DAC, the bluetooth chip will output the I2S signal to external DAC for better quality.
Thanks for the video. How about the sound quality of the speakers after this fix, do you think it decreased? Thanks!
I'd say it was about the same. I didn't notice any change. Honestly, there was a bigger change in sound after changing amps.
thanks always wondered about the X-23
Pleasure to watch your reviews!
The TPH-100 driver looks almost exactly the same as the driver on the CTX-3! Wont be surprised if they were the same driver, just in a different body. And I didnt think the X-23 would be that interesting but alas, also absurdly efficient even in comparison to headphones today. Now, to get that ES-100 fixed as well~
It's amazing how bad it sounds stock, and how good it sounds after tone-correction. Night and day.
@GREQReviews I really wonder why. Also need to get you an SV-2, that thing has no right to be as good as it is
What beauties are these ones!! Amazing… very similar driver house with the old Ashidavox ST-31!
I absolutely love my Fostex TH900 headphones for their phenomenal bass-it’s deep, rich, and incredibly satisfying. I own the MK1 version, which I was lucky enough to snag at a great price. They’ve completely transformed the way I experience music.
Thanks. Hard to keep track of all the IEMs these days.
Maybe I'll do an end-of-year ranking or something...
Great review as always, I finally saved up enough to upgrade from my hexas and settled on the fatfreq deuce, they just arrived today and im in love, they sound amazing, only problem I have with them at the moment is the nozzle size, they almost hit the 7mm and even my dumbo ears are feeling them, hopefully they become more comfortable with time, cuz the sound is amazing and the semicustom shape fits my ear like a glove.
Good review 👍
Isnt the point of these to be used wireless with the bluetooth dac/amp??
Not exactly. Otherwise it wouldn't use a detachable dongle or come with a cable in the box. There are other purely Bluetooth open back headphones like the Grado GW100X and Sineaptic SE1 which I find are both preferable for the specific use case. The Deva Pro is just a desktop headphone that wants to be something more.
Running the Deva Pro balanced bakes a big diference in the imaging and soyndstage, Hifiman missed a big chance of including one. The Bluemini dac, when it works, also hightens the imaging and trebble impact.
Dude, your desk is transferring huge bass noises into the audio of your video!
It's either my deep godly voice, or maybe you're using a subwoofer that is resonating with some part of your room?
@@GREQReviews No its coming from your equipment (maybe your microphone is not isolated/or is sitting on your desk and when you hit the desk, bass noises are transferring to the recording).
Ah, I thought it might be that. Yeah, not much I can do about that with limited space, the microphone is attached to my desk. I'll try and keep the desk banging to a minimum in future 😅
i believe ULE stands for ultra low emission. reffering to their emf shielding technology
Thanks! That actually makes sense
Huh! So the S-Logic actually do something! I mean, I didn't get them because of that but rather cause 🐻
I almost got a KH-73, but I missed out on it, I do have a 53 and by golly it is such a pretty thing. Doesnt sound that good though. Given that the KH-73 and KH-83 are the same, kinda regret missing that one, since theyre actually not bad. Also theyd look good with the YH-5M next to them
The cable going out backwards encourages the cable to hug the chest and stay close to the body, to prevent it from getting caught on things. Much preferable to going out forwards ime.
this channel is gold keep it up 🙏
If you live in EU/US whats the point of ordering any jbl stuff from ali?)
On the off chance that it was genuine, it would have been over 20 EUR cheaper. I took a chance, it didn't pay off, I didn't lose anything, except a little bit of time, so I demanded to see life's manager and made life take those lemons back.
We apend so much time talking about the best of audio products its good to sometimes put it into perspective with some of the worst, as long as you can still refund it that is.
I actually have a very small collection of airline earbuds... truly the cherry on top of the burning dumpster-fire of bad headphones... maybe I'll review those one day ...
@@GREQReviews I know a person that exclusively uses a pair of earbuds she got on a plane, I've offered her better but she just refuses
Thanks ! Nice to see old mods in there. Have forgotten what has what around here myself :)
I wonder how many more lost mods I'll stumble across...
headphone, machine, oder handschuhe???
Wow…..!!!! How could you get these phones…?? They are great classics with Yamaha HP-1…
nicely summed up.
Awesome thanks. The burnt orange pads are classic. Last count I'm at 5 different models, but never had the chance to hear those 2200. As far as I know this model got a revamp colour change and became the HFI-2400. Kind of a pain to find speed swap pad replacements but a person can carefully cut out their own thin plastic tabbed rings ( trace the originals ) and bond new production pads to those new rings using a bit of sandpaper and then contact cement and voila ( hit up a plastic shop for thin styrene sheeting ) Did that with a pleather pad variant on these round cups. Will be grabbing a few more models down the road. Thanks very much for covering this one!!!
Great review! I really like your to the point approach, transparency and honesty. This combo is missing on many other channels. Insta sub. I like this unit for the simplicity and power.
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback :)
A great review 😎👍🏼
Wow, now I feel old, thank you. I own a Ultrasone PRO 750 since 2008 I think. They seem to be very differently tuned from these you have, for the sub-bass in the 750s is simply stunning; even with the frustrating level of isolation they offer, it frequently shows me stuff I can't hear in my perfectly sealed IEMS. You are completely right in saying they were made to be listened to at low volumes. I guess this has to do with the fact that all old Ultrasones were aimed at professionals (for a while, they were popular for monitoring, and that's why I got mine), thus the stupidly long cables and the sturdy build - they will clearly last forever. I noticed the audiophile people seem to love or hate Ultrasone. I am a Taoist, so I love and hate them simultaneously all the time.
3:53 this is why i wish they would have just used a 3 way switch. That way you can manually select BT, AUX, or power. This automatic BT pairing is pretty horrible.
Agreed. For some people I can imagine this being a huge pain, especially if someone owns a smart watch - their phone bluetooth is probably on all the time... so there is no way to stop the amp connecting to your phone unless you unpair it every time, which would be ridiculous.
you fucker. I've been looking for these for years
All Ultrasone isnt good I guess except Signature Pro, Studio etc.
The Edition 8 was pretty neat too.
@@GREQReviews yes
Its so cool all the creativity they used to put in headphones, most headphones today have a very standard setup, but before we had this all figured out it really was the wild west.
Hi Those two components at the driver are diodes. Since they are parallel to the driver and opposing each other in polarity, they are most likely Zener diodes, which would be used as a sort of overvoltage protection, or volume limiter. Once the headphone input signal is higher than the Zener voltage of the reversed diode + 0.7V of the other diode, the impedance the amplifier has to drive will be much lower. The impedance will sink up to the point at which the amplifier begins to clip.
Finally! Someone knows what these things are. I've been wondering about this for ages. Are there also diodes on the Beyerdynamic? I knew they were used as something like volume/overload limiters, but not what the actual component was. Thanks for clearing that up.
@@GREQReviews Indeed The Beyerdynamic diver in your video also has diodes on it. What Headphone is it from? You can actually find the 80 Ohm version of the DT770 with a passive „99db limiter“ Altough, limiting the output of efficient, low to medium impedance headphones to only 99db, wouldn't require Zener diodes. The DT770s have 96db/mW, or 99db/2mW --> P= (U^2) / R --> U = √(P*R) --> U = √(0,002*80) = 0,4V at 99db output Therefore you would only need two „normal“ antiparalell diodes. With higher volume, let's say 111dB, you would, in case of the 80 Ohm DT770, already have 1,6V. At this point it would make sense to use oposing polarity zener diodes. I think it should be possible to test the reverse breakdown voltage with a good multimeter, and calculate an approximate volume level, at which the cricuit would be effective.
@@setech6788 I don't remember which model it's from, I've had it for many years. I also had a DT790 once which apparently had passive limiters in, but I don't recall seeing anything similar inside. Interesting sttuff.
The only meta tuned iem ive tried is the hisenior mega5est but i really enjoyed it, if I didn't have the fatfreq deuce coming in i would seriously consider this one as my next upgrade iem
Helllo there! Great review! A new suscriber here from Mexico. Ive just entered the audiophile world, my very initial gear is, Phillips SHP 9600 open back headphones and the Fiio Q3 DAC, I Know this set uo is pretty humble but Im pretty amazed with the sound Im getting. I need your advice here, Im considering this monitors , and use them also with my DAC, can you explain me how this would change my music listening experience? I know rhis monitors are not headphoness, whats would be the main difference? And my last question, Im an absolute newbie, between this monitors and the Hifiman Sundara headphones, whats do you think is the best way to go for me? Thanks in advance.
Oooof... that's a very big and difficult question to answer. I think out of the biggest differences you should notice at first are the improved sub-bass response, which is something most good modern IEMs are just better at than most open-back headphones. Secondly, I recall the 9600 being quite good, but the Orchestra Lite should have better micro-detail and separation of sound. Generally, IEMs are mostly used for their portability, or for comfort reasons, especially for glasses-wearing-folk. Between an IEM and a Sundara? For me personally, it's a no-brainer. I would get the Orchestra Lite - BUT that's because the Sundara doesn't fit my head properly and I find it extremely uncomfortable to wear, as the earcups also have no vertical swivel!!!
@ thanks a lot!
