I'm so old and sad I really enjoyed that. I have an Eko 6, the old Ranger. Got it in 1972, we're both hanging on. Lovely interesting collection Dave. 🙏🎸❤
No Gibson, PRS, Kramer, Taylor, Martin, or any of the like. I can't afford those high dollar name brands much like all the rest of us. Dave shows us all what can be done with good, well set up instruments that "gear" snobs would turn their noses up on. Other than his Oswald's(BTW they are awesome Dave) the rest are what most of us have to work with. I salute you Dave on your nice collection of guitars. Thanks for showing us that playing well is not bought by tons of money or in a name brand stamped on a headstock. BTW Dave, you need another Strat!! LOL!! 😉🤣

I get so caught up worrying about what other guitarists will think if I play my Squier or my Epiphone. And I wish I didn’t get so wrapped up in that rubbish. Does it matter what the guys on the forums and what other musicians at the gig think of us? No it doesn’t. We love what we do and that’s all that matters. Thank you sir.

Dave, if you were in the market for an American Fender Strat, new or used what would you go for? I am in the market and being realistic and not looking at pricey custom shop or vintage guitars. I have a couple of good Squiers and love them for the record. 👍🇦🇺
Dave you’re a great guitarist and a beautiful human being. I love watching your videos. I’m truly happy to experience every single of them because I can feel it that you put a big part of you in every each of them. Thank you so much for doing this. I wish that someday when everything comes back to relative normality I’ll be able to jam with you❤️
Ha ha ..... loved every minute, but as time was going on I began to think 'he won't have time for the amps', oh dear, I wanted to see and hear about them! Then the big reveal! A whole new video dedicated to them - can't wait! You look so comfortable and so much at home (no pun intended) in this setting. Oh, by the way, thought the wall hangers were, erm, interesting!! So, well, you, I guess. Oh, oh, loved the playing, such feel and always resonates emotionally with me.
Hey it's really easy to fix the string alignment on that Fender squire. Just back off the neck screws about a half turn then you can move the neck back and forth in the pocket until it's correctly aligned and tighten the screws again. You can loosen the strings a little but I never have to do that. I build guitars and repair them as well and I've had to do this to a bunch of Fender guitars. Don't worry it won't hurt the guitar at all and it will sound a lot better after you do it because the strings will be over the pole pieces where they belong. Hope you see this comment, nice collection by the way!
I really enjoyed this Dave guitar-world tour! It was fun how there seemed like there was always another rack of guitars to show. We're not done yet...heres another rack! You have a lot of wonderful strats! I love hearing the guitar stories about each one :) Have a good one dave!
Love it man, got a question- 2 or 3 pedals to get similar machine gun tone, im on the cheap. Does not need to be perfect, just close. Mim strat player series with custom shop tex specials through katana
I got the Legend Aria Sunburst telecaster from Dawsons in Chester 1993 still got, just brought it down to play got me back into playing again after a 10 year break, great guitar.
Man, I love your passion into music. It's awesome to see someone like you, who still cares more about just pure music, rather than just making music for fame. Also I have a question, I started playing guitar half a year ago. I wanted a gear similar to John's but budget-friendly of course :D So I bought Squier Classic vibe 60's strat and Katana 100 1. version. Do you think I made the right decision, or would you recommend me something else? Also I think of buying Ibanez WH10V3. Do you think it's good? Because I've seen some videos about it, and they say it's not as good as previous versions. But since the old versions are quite expensive, I'll have to stick with V3. Anyway thanks for your videos, you deserve way more subscribers, because your work is immense. I'm not a native speaker so I learned new word from this video, word immense :D An awesome education material
Hi Dave, Sorry for long messsage but if you do come across it, I love your 2002 Mex 60s reissue,. If I was getting a new guitar how would the new Vintera ii 60s Oly white stack up against yours? Im in the market for both a vintage and a modern instrument but not sure whether I want a Vinatge strat with a modern tele or a modern strat with a vintage tele haha. Either or would be great. Defo a Rory fan so the new AVri 61 strat ticks that box. Im very lucky to be fornutate to finally have saved enough to afford an American Vintage ii 1961 but for that money I am leaning on just getting the Vintera ii equivalent and then have al that money left over for a tele. (Love the Jason Isbell tele you demo'd in one of your videos btw) Anyways long story short what would ya recommend? - pull the trigger on the AVri 1961 or get the Vintera ii strat? Or go the other way completely and get a Pro ii Strat and cure my itch for a vintage spec instrument by saving up afterwards for one of the vintera ii teles. So many decisions haha. Vinatge strat with modern tele or modern strat with vintage tele? Love your channel. Favorite youtuber by a country mile.
Nice video dave ..sprang rite back to a good outcome..like your collection ...looking foward to your second part (amps) to this video...playing in the dark realy added to the vibe of your instrumental...excellent an powerful phrasing also...inspiring
Nice collection. I have a few guitars but I’m really obsessed with the Stratocaster. Such a beautiful guitar and each one sounds different. I also love how you can adjust them to your own personal preference.
Dave you are truly an inspiration. Some days I find myself looking at the guitar and not wanting to play because of how low-skilled I am. I look forward to being able to express myself on this instrument like yourself. Keep on playing, I will keep watching :)
That Columbus is like an Epiphone Casino, John Lennon bought one because the break up point was exacly where the distortion point of being hollow was and so gave a unique tone
I have a 60 strat and a MIM strat and they sound so close that I couldn't tell from a blind test...tone comes from the hands but a vintage neck does feel amazing to play....Dave is a killer player on anything but I fancy his 62 ;)
This is no ordinary video. This a documentary!!! Hahaha. Love the ¿ethereal/ambient/Gilmoure? intro. Also Squier Bullets are the GOATS of cheap electric guitars. Even the new ones. I'm bias since I own one but it just great. Thanks for the video Dave. Have a very good evening.
It's a guitarnival!! Guitopia is finally upon us! Guitarnivors unite! Guitarmageddon is coming! OK, OK... I'll stop with the guitar puns... Seriously, that's quite the guitarsenal you have acquired there Dave! *I'll see myself out.*
You don't have the Subzero with the P 90 anymore ? The paradigm ..? It doesn't stay in tune very well but it sounds really good ...i'm surprised , i thought you had kept it like you said in your video about it ..
Watched the entire video. Brilliant. I love frusciante and Hendrex style. So love your videos more. I have an epiphone dot and an epiphone les paul standard pro so need a strat. Gonna get a Mexican player. I'm currently learning and your really helping me. Ps. Loved your appearance on Andertons. Brilliant 👏
Great collection man. You got some real gems in there. Couldn't help but notice a conspicuous absence of PRS. As a fellow Fender junkie and Strat lover with a limited budget (actually in 15 years was never able to bond with any hh guitar other than an hh Jag that now needs a complete electrics overhaul) I recommend you try the PRS SEs. I had Epiphones and ESPs lps, sent them all back to the store. Didn't like the feeling of the neck, humbuckers sound dead... A couple of years ago decided to try again and got a hardtail 22 fret PRS SE (a Paul's guitar), and it changed everything. Superb neck feel, very expressive pickups, got nothing bad to say about it. It's life changing. Something else I've been meaning to try out are the G&L strats, but haven't had the opportunity yet.
My strat was made within a month of your white one. I don't know what was going on in the MIM shop in early 2000's but whatever it was they need to bottle it. Mine was a sunburst strat. I actually stripped the paint and painted it a Lake placid Blue. But I love LOVE LOVE that guitar. It buries all other strats I've played. That's why when I see you show so much love to your white one, I GET IT. I seriously wish you could play mine I could play yours. I'm really curious how close they are.

I’m sad to say i’m not sure as i have never tried one to compare it. Sorry.
You can put a small o-ring on the pot to help keep the tone knob from moving on that Hendrix Strat.
Dave's tour is really interesting. A lot more fun and relatable. Enthusiasm !!!
My take away: there are two types of scratch plates: Mint Green, and not Mint Green
There a beauty nice guitar collection !!!!!!
Dave you are truly an inspiration. Some days I find myself looking at the guitar and not wanting to play because of how low-skilled I am. I look forward to being able to express myself on this instrument like yourself. Keep on playing, I will keep watching :)
All of them beautiful guitars but Columbus... I fall in love with her.
Thats easy to do.
I don't like tomato soup...HAHA. Love this guy! Awesome collection dude.
@davesimpson what happened to your Vintage v100 gold top??
That Columbus is like an Epiphone Casino, John Lennon bought one because the break up point was exacly where the distortion point of being hollow was and so gave a unique tone
I have a 60 strat and a MIM strat and they sound so close that I couldn't tell from a blind test...tone comes from the hands but a vintage neck does feel amazing to play....Dave is a killer player on anything but I fancy his 62 ;)
I just want to say that I love your channel very much.
That’s what happens when you combine a heavy plectrum with a break up... And a breakDOWN!
Good job making that funny!
I love how you have a bunch of junker guitars but play better than almost anyone else on earth!
The Oswalt bits are just so killer!
Want!
Fun thx Dave!
Just curious to know why you prefer Oswald guitars over Fender Custom Shop. Cheers ✌️
It's a guitarnival!! Guitopia is finally upon us! Guitarnivors unite! Guitarmageddon is coming! OK, OK... I'll stop with the guitar puns... Seriously, that's quite the guitarsenal you have acquired there Dave!
*I'll see myself out.*
WTF HOW ARE YOU NOT AT 100k? I swear I tought you were, you deserve soo much more
Your friend Bob is a truly generous soul.
Dave! You have "miami blue" strat isn't it? What you can tell about it and what model is it?
You don't have the Subzero with the P 90 anymore ? The paradigm ..? It doesn't stay in tune very well but it sounds really good ...i'm surprised , i thought you had kept it like you said in your video about it ..
As a first time viewer, I thought you were Guthrie Govan from the thumbnail. Awesome playing.
That Vintage SG is the bomb!
