You need wall screw anchors for the 2 holders for something as heavy as that tall wooden ladder unless the screws were going into wooden studs within the wall.
That's funny ,I was watching a video earlier about the Tower of Babel story , how God mixed up people's languages because they didn't want to spread all over the earth.
There should be a word to describe the tiny stressors that plague us every day, i.e., a lid that's difficult to get off and on, an uneven surface to set things on. It's so satisfying to watch you amend these tiny annoyances and inspires me to address my own to create a smoother flow.
I thought I was the only person that got annoyed with such tiny things. I got annoyed that the laundry detergent handle was too narrow. Maybe we can invent a word. Maddening mental minutiae.
This latest video shows you using several hand-held tools. I´ve never had the courage to learn how to use these and would love to see you make a series of videos showing the basics of how to choose what, and teaching on proper use. Even simple touchups like filling holes, using silicon, etc. are all of interest to me. Hope you will consider this.
@@BenitaLarsson I'd love to see this too! I used to be quite handy 25 years ago, but when I got married I sort of let my husband become the handy one of the house. Now that he is older and ill, he can't do things anymore and I need to relearn my old skills!
Such creative solutions! To prevent cables / wires from becoming tangled try coiling individually, use a velcro cable wrap or a simple ponytail elastic hair tie to secure.
Yay! Another visit with Benita! Topping your end table with a piece of wood is the perfect solution. It also warms up the piece by introducing a natural wood element - very pretty. ❤
Thank you, Benita. Great ideas, as usual. I particularly liked the artful and industrial way to hang a ladder. It looks great and is very conveniently located.
I have a round vintage wicker side table that I adjusted to not be annoying to use. The top sagged and the diameter was squished and not perfectly round. I traced the “squished circle” with paper and had a custom piece of safety glass cut to fit. Now items placed on it don’t tip over and it’s easy to dust. 🇨🇦
You have a keen eye for the simple and useful changes. I loved the idea with your ladder and it looked like wall art after you painted the straps! My first thought was your bathroom is so tiny compared to your old apartment bathroom. Thinking small and outside the box with the brush holder was so clever to me and also so useful. Thanks for sharing your make over ideas and I hope in the future you share more how your making the changes and the supplies you use.
This channel is the one channel where I can like the videos even before I watch them, and it’s always correct. Comforting and inspirational at the same time.
I love making systems that work for your daily flow. I had to get a Nespresso for my fiancée for his kitchen-less office. He likes coffee but making coffee low waste was such a time suck and he’s not good about washing the dishes, much less so when there’s no kitchen. He is good at recycling though, so the Nespresso seemed to work for his lifestyle. He has a coffee station with the Nespresso and bunch of mugs on a mug tree. He uses compostable stirrers and bottled syrups and water. It’s easier for him to carry a mug home to wash than a whole coffee pot. When the mug tree runs out he restocks the mugs with clean ones to last the week.
Wonderful ideas are two favorites the first was taking the box lid and making a hole to comfortably remove it and using the ceramic knot on the other. The most brilliant second one is going to the kid's section of Ikea to make shoe storage. I have been so disappointed with the small space that is available from huge pieces to ones that truly were not pleasing to the eye. Thank you for this wonderful video full of other great ideas.
Each idea is so good, it was hard to choose a favourite, but mine would be the clay handle on the wooden box: so stylish, unique and practical at the same time. Well done!
I have the same toilet brush, and like you couldn’t find a discreet garbage can. I’m going to use your brilliant idea! You really are so creative, and I enjoy your content.
So beautiful! I think the beige/linen accents are a nice alternative and complement to the grey accents that you've had in the past. Everything still looks neutral and calm, but with a little bit more texture and natural variation. And I'm super impressed that you covered the doors in the floor -- what a good workout!
I don’t tend to post comments as a rule but I look forward to your videos Benita and often rewatch them. This one was gold. I love your style and ideas. Thank you.
I love your attention to detail, it's so calming to watch you tend to simple things that make a soothing aesthetic in your home. Very helpful ideas, thank you!
The hanging ladder--also makes a great base for decor (e.g. stringing fairy lights/hanging fabrics, etc), I love being able to "multi task" decor with practical! AND, I jumped on your cat bed in a basket from your earlier videos.... As always lovely, helpful, thought provoking content Benita💗
Just watched this video. I totally find your minimalist game totally on point. I was just telling my mum if Benita visits our home she will get a shock looking at the visual clutter 😀find your vlogs so therapeutic
If you put the tape on the lid and do the pencil markings after, you would be able to take them off with the tape :-) I do that quite often to avoid cleaning up markings. Thank you for this great video :-)
I love the way you hung the ladder. It looks great and is functional.👌🏻I also have used your suggestion from past videos about putting some furniture on wheels to make cleaning easier. Life changing lol! Thanks for your videos, love them!
I found a well-designed, large ice bucket with lid to use as a small trash can. It features “Chessie,” the mascot for the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad in Virginia. Keeps my nosey dog out of the trash!
These are my favorite videos of yours! It's inspiring and encouraging to see that we do not have to live with the tiny annoyances that drip anxiety into our days. I have so many of these and now feel inspired to solve some of them. Thank you!
Nothing makes me happier than finding inexpensive storage solutions! Having lived in a small apartment for many years I have employed many similar techniques, but it's still fascinating to watch others do the same ! I'm not one for collecting soft toys but I bought a small blue corduroy Miffy which I love. I came across a shop which sold every size and colour of Miffy the bunny and couldn't resist ! Pleased you have settled well into your new abode 🌷
I love the painted ladder on the wall. Making functional/utilitarian items also aesthetic is always so interesting to me. I also must admit that I love the pretty green blanket! Green always looks extra beautiful against your neutrals. I bet Bonus's black and white fur also compliments it nicely. Mrrrowww! Really enjoyed the box treatments too!
So happy to have a new video from you! I love already the first idea, and how you solved a problem by taking something away rather than adding something! I totally thought you were going to add a knob to the box lid! I should have known you better, Benita! ❤😊
Thanks, Benita! I really liked the idea of the little box hiding the chords and plug extensions - I may have to copy that one! 😀I have several small lamps across my apartment for a warmer and less intimidating ambience than with headlamps, but I hate the wiring (I bought most of my lamps before discovering USB chargeable lamps, oh well...), so this idea might be the solution I have been looking for.
What a creative and inspiring video! What a great reminder to look at what you have and change what annoys you. You definitely have a talent for creativity and details. 👏🏻
Benita! So glad to have found you after all of those years since your blog ended! It may take me a while to catch up with your channel, but how excited I am to see you again! I'm so sorry about your Mom... Hope Wille is doing well. xoxo
Such a great idea about the cutting board! I’m definitely going to Systrene Grene this week to get one myself. I’ve been using a tray for so long, but this idea is perfect!
Same here!!! I have the same containers and used white felt rounds on top, but after some years they get a bit dingy, so I’ll try a wooden serving tray instead! Thanks Benita for all this lovely inspiration!!
A lot of comments loving the ladder to my surprise and over the pets dining area. As a minimalist, not my thing. Industrial - yes. I don’t think it will stay there long. The Ikea dust bin however, brilliant. I have the brush and love the Matt white. Always look forward to hearing your voice. Thank you.
It is crazy how I have found someone across the globe that loves all the things I do. I have been watching your channel for quite some time now and am always delighted when you mention something that I love (in this video, for example, Bryan Nash Gill) since I have started. So much so, I believe we might have been separated at birth. But the closest I have ever been to Sweden is when I was an ESL teacher in Lithuania five years after their independence in Mazeikiai. Thank you so much for your continual calming videos that provide so many great ideas. Sending well wishes from the shores of Lake Ontario in New York State.
I kept seeing a tall plant for the corner. Love the hanging ladder. I love when something functional is beautiful, artisanal. The cat bed is great, another way to use what you have and not have one more thing to manage. Great progress, nice warmer tones too.
I found your channel today and love the calmness. I am working to downsize after inheriting things from my family. Your minimalist style calms me so much! Thank you.
Excellent ideas! I love how much thought you put into your solutions. I try to make my everyday as enjoyable and pleasing to the eyes as possible as well.
Love the idea of keeping the bag on your peg rail. I keep a pretty fabric bin on my stairs for items I’m getting rid of. Once the bin is full, I force myself to deal with the items right away. I do the same in my closet with items that may have a stain, or need repaired or altered. It’s a great way to contain all the items that tend to sit around!
Bonjour Benita.
Love all the ideas!!! I will be using many. Your apartment is gorgeous...and you are so handy with projects. Please consider doing a video in regards to tools. Every second Tuesdays with Benita are therapy days. Thank You.
painting fabic - I have used standard artist acrylic paints with great success - I mixed the paint with water 50/50 and stirred vigourously. I trimmed a stiff bristle artist brush (flat tip shape) and scrubbed the paint into the fabric. I kept mixing the paint/water as it tends to separate, and the final piece comes out a bit mottled (not perfectly flat color) but I think it is pretty - the big thing is that it is totally machine washable. With fabric paints usually it is not washable.
🥳 Hurrah, it's Benita Tuesday again ( my name for alternate Tuesday's when your videos drop 😂). I'm really not much of a diy-er, but am continually inspired by you to tweak and improve around the place. Kitchen cabinet reorganisation ☑️, evil tangled cable tracking ( in progress )... The attention to detail really does make a difference, yay! Who even knew it was possible to cover IKEA cabinets....? It made such a difference using a different texture. Oh, I'm learning Spanish to read more Latin American fiction in the original...🙄 is the plan ! Hope Spring comes to Stockholm soon! 🌼🦋🌱
I am also learning Spanish. I would love to know which authors you aspire to read. I love to read. I have a beautiful edition of Neruda’s odes and it is bilingual. I would especially love to know of Latin American women novelists.
@@flyingcloudsmoore1313 the best writers for me are/were Peruvian: Manuel Scorza and Mario Vargas Llosa. Then the many Argentina writers, starting with Borges who-knew-it-all. Then the Spain’s glories: Lorca, Antonio Machado, Miguel Hernández.
Great ideas. I noticed the rocking stool you used with the computer. Please share where you got it. I think it would be a comfortable work 'chair' for me.
Great simple ideas that work... without any fuss..and have the recycling advantage...great way to use what you already have. I have always saved the clear plastic tray when bought at Christmas or birthdays Ferraro rocher chocolate ...they are usually quiet shallow and. You can use top and bottom in different places or close or stack them . I will be lovely to see how you transform everything when your new kitchen is installed..so exciting.. thank you for sharing Benita...it's always lovely to listen to your voice too.
A couple of comments - you could use a tall plant stand to put you plant on to keep out of reach of cats. I’m not sure if you already do this but you could grow grass for cats to nibble on. Also the artist’s name is Bryan Nash Gill - your print is a perfect homage to his work :)
More delightful inspiration! I have spent two weeks in my new home and, while I wait for my things to arrive on a boat and my kitchen to be installed, I'm using boxes for end tables and washing my dishes in the bathroom. I'm so excited to get everything in one place, add some storage pieces I've sourced locally, and really nest. I feel like I'm settling in in parallel with Benita. This video was just lovely, as always, and so inspiring.
@@MyFocusVaries It's a bit nerve wracking. I don't think they've even set sail yet and they were packed at the end of January. I miss my books the most.
I really enjoyed my trip to Italy. Rome was amazing, especially when we went on our private golf cart tour of the city. I highly recommend it. Well done on your projects. That's amazing that you found linen ribbon that exactly matched the fabric for the doors. Thanks for sharing 🥰🌱🌷💐💗✝
Hi Benita, I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Perfect solution in your entryway! I’m studying French with Babbel for my trip to Paris next month. I’d like to know a few sentences. Always happy to see a new video from you. ❤
Your new cabinet looks fantastic with the pottery hanging! Lovely to see you settling in. Watching the video I thought, I can’t believe Benita can tolerate those distracting red straps. Sure enough… 😊
Hi Benita, I hope you are well. Thanks for the manual reminder. I'm off now to throw all mine out of my overstuffed sitting room drawer. Many hugs from Shetland xxx
Amazing ! Some really great ideas there ! Im still playing around organising and decluttering after our move . So look forward to your videos ! Thanks Benita 💐
I enjoy all your videos - very calming. Today I found I had a few lightbulb moments whilst watching so I’m off to do a couple of little changes that will make all the difference. Thank you 😊
Wow, love all of these ideas and some of them are genius 👏 Particularly love the slim waste paper container for the bathroom and the timber table top. Also.....that ladder looks like a piece of art on the wall, love it.
@Benita Larsson So much so that a ran to my kitchen to see if my unused round charcuterie board would fit on top of a rough small side table I have but alas it was too small 🙄😄 Added ' give the old table a lick of paint ' to my 'todo' list instead. 😀
That was great, I love a good home hack! I don't bother with a bathroom bin anymore. I just stick a hook on the inside of the sink cabinet and hook over one of the clear bags with handles they give you at the airport for your liquids. It works well and I don't need to buy (or clean) an extra item. I also got one of those silicone loo brush holders that sticks to the wall which makes it easier to vacuum and mop the bathroom. I liked all of the hacks - the cable box looks fab. I used a white stationery box to hold an extension plug block once. I just made a slit for the cables in the back and hid everything inside.
Dear Benita! Wow!! You’re so skilled! Such great ideas! Love watching your videos and seeing how your apartment is developing! Interesting how it will go on! Cheers from Iris and have a good week!😍🤩
The ladder hanging idea tho...!!! This is very 'Quaker'... that community (I think it's Quaker, maybe Shaker), hangs their chairs and everything to get them off the floor. This utilitarian solution ads such a chic design element to the space... it's got a fun contrast to the more modern kitchen finishes. And the wheeled cupboard is... just beyond cool, and so pragmatic... as always, you provide such amazing inspo!
It's the simple & most obvious nuisances that nag at someone the most. It's always a thrill to find solutions, sit back & enjoy the results. The wooden box hole, bathroom trash can, side table timber tops & DIY shoe cabinet were my fave features today. Have a good fortnight Benita & Bonus.
These are great tips! Thank you for sharing. You mentioned in a previous video that you lost your mother before Christmas. I am so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to lose one's mother. I lost mine two years ago and I miss her very much. Courage to you.

Spanish is such a useful language to know!
Lovely you kept your childhood blanket.

Great ideas. I noticed the rocking stool you used with the computer. Please share where you got it. I think it would be a comfortable work 'chair' for me.

@@BenitaLarsson Thanks for getting back to me about the stool.
Such a great idea for the trash can! I moved snd had the same problem - thank you!!! Love your channel.
Dzień dobry !
Jak zwykle ciekawy film,dużo inspiracji i Pani spokój...
Oglądam i odpoczywam.
Pozdrawiam ❤️
Great simple ideas that work... without any fuss..and have the recycling advantage...great way to use what you already have. I have always saved the clear plastic tray when bought at Christmas or birthdays Ferraro rocher chocolate ...they are usually quiet shallow and. You can use top and bottom in different places or close or stack them . I will be lovely to see how you transform everything when your new kitchen is installed..so exciting.. thank you for sharing Benita...it's always lovely to listen to your voice too.
Yes! I’ve used those so many times in the past too!
A couple of comments - you could use a tall plant stand to put you plant on to keep out of reach of cats. I’m not sure if you already do this but you could grow grass for cats to nibble on. Also the artist’s name is Bryan Nash Gill - your print is a perfect homage to his work :)
I know, as soon as I pressed upload I realized I got his name wrong😬 And I do grow cat grass all the time.
Ooh, exciting times for you!
"waiting for my things to arrive in a boat" sounds so intriguing
@@MyFocusVaries It's a bit nerve wracking. I don't think they've even set sail yet and they were packed at the end of January. I miss my books the most.
I like all of your ideas. I find your voice very calming as well.
🏠🏠Nice, everything looks great! Simple and functional
Wille and I loved Rome too! We went when he was 9 and was really into Romans.
Hi Benita, I learn something new every time I watch your videos. Perfect solution in your entryway!
I’m studying French with Babbel for my trip to Paris next month. I’d like to know a few sentences.
Always happy to see a new video from you. ❤
Have fun in Paris!
I speak portuguese (i am brazilian) and i love learn english with you! kkkk You are my teacher (i learn hearing you!)🥰❤
Aww, that’s so sweet!
You are very clever and handy too! Several of your projects gave me some ideas - Thanks.
Your new cabinet looks fantastic with the pottery hanging! Lovely to see you settling in. Watching the video I thought, I can’t believe Benita can tolerate those distracting red straps. Sure enough… 😊
Haha, yes they were way too red!😅
Thank you gif these ideas and inspirations. You have a beautiful home!
Wow! Ingenius! All of them! Benita, I have been following you for almost 15 years and you never cease to amaze me! Thank you!
Aww, thank you, that’s so sweet!
It's SO much fun to see all the little solutions you come up with
Love it! ❤ Beautiful made video! Benita, never disappoint with quality made videos.❤
Thank you so much!
I love your creativity & the simple stylish ways you do things! Love this video❤️
Thank you so much!!
happy women's day♀️and greetings from germany dear BENITA🌞
Hi Benita, I hope you are well. Thanks for the manual reminder. I'm off now to throw all mine out of my overstuffed sitting room drawer. Many hugs from Shetland xxx
I'm glad you found it useful! And Shetland, dreamy!
Amazing ! Some really great ideas there ! Im still playing around organising and decluttering after our move . So look forward to your videos ! Thanks Benita 💐
Hello Benita, Wonderful ideas! Your apartment looks beautiful and so you!
Thank you so much! 😊
I enjoy all your videos - very calming. Today I found I had a few lightbulb moments whilst watching so I’m off to do a couple of little changes that will make all the difference. Thank you 😊
I'm so happy if the video left you inspired!
Great ideas. I love getting small projects done like this. Thanks for sharing!
I so appreciate your attention to detail & it is indeed satisfying when you find solutions to all the 'little things'!
It really is so satisfying!
Wow, love all of these ideas and some of them are genius 👏 Particularly love the slim waste paper container for the bathroom and the timber table top. Also.....that ladder looks like a piece of art on the wall, love it.
Thank you! I'm so glad you like the ideas!
Glad you enjoyed! And thanks for sharing!
A Sagittarius will say: "I'm not into astrology at all.." ♐ 😃
Thank you Benita, as usual it's a treat to watch your video! Greetings from Canada!
Haha, really? I had no idea!🤣
Wow! You’re super creative and hands on.
Love your apt. Vibe...serene.
Laura
Dear Benita! Wow!! You’re so skilled! Such great ideas! Love watching your videos and seeing how your apartment is developing! Interesting how it will go on! Cheers from Iris and have a good week!😍🤩
Yay, thank you so much!
It’s Shaker and I’ve always been inspired by them🙌🏻
Watched twice - so creative! Made some immediate, easy changes to make things much nicer. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
Very nice, thoughtful and functional tweaks that work for you. Love the hole in the box lid idea.
Glad you enjoyed it!
These are great tips! Thank you for sharing. You mentioned in a previous video that you lost your mother before Christmas. I am so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to lose one's mother. I lost mine two years ago and I miss her very much. Courage to you.
Thank you so much!
