Wow I've played 15 hours into this game and had no idea about the fanning fault. And I was treating the Wyvern blasts as landmines, not a sticky bomb. Thanks the the tips!
If u get a chance. 3 vault the mine on a monster. Then use a rapid fire shrapnel or spread ammo... The monster usually gets knocked over, then place barrel bombs in areas you want to destroy the monster, continue the carnage... In world I barely used the bowgun, in generations it was my go to weapon after Lance.
Yes the wire bugs addition changes entirely how the LBG plays out. Without them bugs you are like a turret, with them you are like an air strike drone lol
I've found that slicing ammo is another really good ammo tyoe to pair with your wybernblast. Between that and piercing I feel like a true big game hunter
Just FYI this works extremely well with rapid fire slicing as well. You basically don't even need to aim well just hit the monster somewhere. Really usefull for poeple who aren't experienced with the switch.
Been looking through a bunch of these bowgun videos since as a MH Ps2/PSP Vet I almost only ever play Greatsword, Hammer or Lance. I'm enjoying the pew pew so far but no one ever covers silencers or long barrels.

I already have several weapons maxed with a few good builds focused on stun/staggers and an insane high affinity. Now, currently messing with the Swagaxe since that's honestly the coolest looking weapon imo especially when it morphs. Still haven't tried CB so we'll have to see which is the true hybrid melee weapon. So lots of melee close DPS, but still haven't had any ranged, until.. playing Rise. It seems every group I run into in randoms have at least 2 running lbg, and that's not a bad thing. We were KO'ing quicker, able to ride immediately, and capture all in sub 10.. each time. I might have to try out this said LBG. Bow looks real fun too, but there's just something about that LBG I tell you.. much thiccy than a bow.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial not spread ammo right? shrapnel, it can detonate from mid to close range because it peirce and has such a large spread like almost full screen. @@Forbidden_Chocolate Can confirm it's super fun to play the light bowgun now that I own the game, it's very fast and agile but dishes out big damage. Different guns give you bonuses to different ammos. My favorite is bonus to pierce ammo it fires multiple at once for the cost of 1 ammo per shot.

I don’t know what you’re talking about with the wyvern blast only having three shots before disappearing when placed on the ground. You even got 5 blasts from it as you were saying you couldn’t at 5:05. ...Unless you mean that the monster would just move away from the wyvern blast after you place it and you only get around 3 shots out of it anyway, which yeah that happens way too much and I am gonna stick the blasts on the monsters a lot more now that I know that’s a thing so thanks for that
Yes I made a mistake on that one. I always felt like I was getting 3 but later I realize is 5. But definitely don’t stick them on the ground, right on the monster is OP lol
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial yeah I started putting them on the monsters and using pierce ammo after watching this and it’s really good. Now the only time I’m putting the blasts on the ground on purpose is if the monster is asleep, because then you can place all three in one spot and rush the monster with hundreds of damage if you’re fast enough to get all 5 shots out before it moves.
Does the color of the target aim effect the damage output? The color changes to I think white, yellow, orange or red. Which color/Which distance gives best damage?
You want your reticle to turn Orange and have another circle inside of it. That will mean you're at the ideal distance and will deal maximum damage. Yellow is like half damage and white is negligible.
I normally just stick 2 or 3 mines on the monster and then detonate them with shrapnel ammo. The range on shrapnel is oddly high and it does respectable damage on mid to large monsters it honestly feels like pierce if it had a baby with spread ammo. paired with rapid shrapnel it pumps out pretty good damage and seems to do more if the monsters parts are broken normally doing about 10ish ticks of 5 to 8 damage for me so somewhere around 60 or 80 damage per shot with low effort when it comes to aiming and depending on the gun the fire rate is fast as hell. Normally im a pierce guy but lest early game shrapnel paired with mines is hands down my favorite strategy.
