As a Breast Cancer survivor of 30 years, I know too well of the victory and challenges we've been through. Your precious home reflects the beauty and fun of the holiday season 🥰🥰 Merry Christmas and cheers for a wonderful 2024
Please be kind. This Lady has opened her home for all to see and enjoy. This is a beautiful traditional home and I really love it. I had a chaotic childhood and believe me, she is an amazing woman who changed the direction of her life and created a warm, inviting and peaceful home for her family in spite of the many challenges she faced. God bless you and your family.
Suzanna has a beautiful home and a beautiful spirit! Not many people would have been concerned about decorating for the Holidays to cheer up their family while waging a life threatening battle against cancer. That selfless act also started a wonderful collaboration and friendship with a talented designer, and how can there be anything wrong with that? The real accomplishment at Christmas is to create a beautiful, warm, welcoming environment for family and friends , and Suzanna has accomplished that with the help of a friend. I'd say she perfectly understands the spirit of the Season!😊
I don't know where you got the 'not many people would have been concerned about decorating for the holidays' from. Most parents wondering if they will see another Christmas make sure they share that most magical of holidays having the best possible memories. I've seen Christmas in July with a young woman for her 3 young children, her last with them. The only thing 'most people' don't have is the money required to hire a designer to do it for them.
Hi, let me first say that I am very sorry about your friend who passed away. What a generous soul she had! I didn't mean to offend, and I believe that I have conveyed the wrong impression with a poor choice of words. I should have said "many" people instead of "most" people . Also, I didn't mean to imply that the lack of concern would be due to indifference,. But it has been my experience that people who have been gravely ill for a long time are often robbed of the physical and emotional strength needed to focus on creating joyful experiences for their loved ones while they are barely clinging to life themselves. I ,also, have witnessed the interaction between dying parents and their children. These moments have often been filled with sadness, love, and tenderness. But the focus, during these times, has never been,( in my experience at least) the creation of joyful memories . And that is what I found uplifting about Suzanna's story. Ultimately, all I meant to convey is that I do admire her spirit, as I do that of your friend, and I am also very happy that she had the means to create these magical experiences for her family.
@@susannaquinn6261 it is so rare that people display all their family and friends photos now, and to me, our people are the reason to celebrate. Books are so important and personal libraries add so much warmth, knowledge and conversation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. Wishing you all good things!
Loved meeting the white house decorator--very inspiring. Love your taste in art as well. And Yes Gen Xers are resilient. You are a beautiful testimony to that fact.
First of all just wanted to say, you are a testimony of God’s grace and mercy. Your home is a beautiful sanctuary and inspiration to people that enter. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Can't we, indeed? I can exercise my right to "Mute," or to not watch. I love hearing the story and the trials and tribulations of the journey. These are powerful stories, not always sunshine and roses but resilience seems to win out and i say "bravo" sometimes through happy tears. Thank you. ❤️🙏🌄🌻
Can’t we just watch without the snarky comments. So what if someone uses a designer/decorator? What they choose to spend their money on is nobody’s business. Plus isn’t this a design channel? Half of the videos on this channel are of designers’ homes. Using a decorator should not be looked upon with disdain. The homeowner is also involved in the process. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything. That rule should be followed for comments as well. Love this channel.
Sister wife! I love it. My father spent Christmas with us every year. My mom, stepdad, my father, and all the children from both marriages. We thought nothing of it and it was absolutely wonderful! They got along better than they did with my mom! hahahaha
Gorgeous home!!! Such a gracious hostess ...........love the fact she included the designer which she is amazing as well. Stunning home..........and a great example of how color can be classy and elegant. Susanna is one of the best orators as she gives us a tour of her home..........not to mention..........she must be a saint if she celebrated holidays with her husbands ex..........hats off to her!
Your home is beautiful and inspiring. I was even more inspired by your story, which I googled right after you told us about the wobbles. I am 51, and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two months ago. I was shocked. I felt bloated, and that was it. Still trying to process it all. Had surgery where everything was removed, but feeling a bit lost. Wish you had some kind of meet-up, I would LOVE to get a chance to hear you speak, and speak with you. I am right outside of Baltimore. Thank you for your bravery and for sharing so much with us.
Loved Suzanna and her Christmas home tour. This one is my favorite. Getting to know her and why she does Christmas big for her family and friends is special. She loves her people. She says they helped her beat cancer. Her Real Housewives comments cracked me up. I too love animal print and I won’t apologize. It was great meeting her designer. She is lovely and so talented. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a friend. She should have a show or TH-cam channel. She could tell a lot of interesting stories about her White House years. Great video.
Susannah’s home was one of my faves a few years ago when it was first on here. So happy to see it decorated for the holidays. She comes across as a self assured and strong woman which makes watching an extra treat. 🎉
I’m so glad I kept my old fake tree when it grew tired. This year I put it outside and strung lights on it. The other night we had a terrific rain and wind storm and it blew over. Once it stopped raining I took away the supports which are needed for indoors and just pushed the “trunk” into the mud. It’s not going anywhere and looks great!
I love this tour. It was refreshing to see two women who are relatable. I am no where near that style or income that it takes to maintain a home this beautiful. However, with this type of tour it’s fun to pick out little tips in general for my townhouse. I loved your Decorator. She’s so charming. Bless you for fighting the terrible disease. Sadly I have lost three family members, bets to,cancer this year alone. I so enjoyed the stories that you both shared. I was born in Washington DC in 1946. All of my family and Ancestors have been buried in Mt. Olivet and the Congressional Cemetery. DC is my home although I live 3000 miles away. I have visited many times for work and stay over for the weekend just to walk the streets and take photos, go to the museums and breathe in my lovely home city. Thank you for this tour. I have lived in my home for 33 years and it’s always nice to get new and affordable ideas. Merry Christmas. Donna
I love her home...I have neutral upholstery as well makes a great backdrop for decor. Watched her other home tour a couple times. Enjoyed seeing her decorator and hearing about her background. Susanna is a very classy lady...you don't see too many these days. Especially in Southern California where I live. Too casual hardly anyone dresses up anymore or makes an effort. My mom being divorced didn't have a ton of money but she always looked nice and as kids made sure we did too. We had less but what we did have was good quality.
Lovely home and the decorations are divine Im a christmas person I love decorating at christmas time I cant forget I got a new tree one year as soon as I had finished decorating it and turn the lights on OMG there comes the tree tumbling over I was shouting help help for my son but it was too late I had a good laugh Congrats on your recovery from cancer
