Thanos knows who Tony is because remember in the first Avengers film Tony was the one who sent the nuke through the portal to wipe out the Chitari army. Thanos knows Tony because of that.
I remember seeing this in theaters and knowing we were all going to have to wait another year to find out what happened.
Later on the planet we would find 'Thaños in the baños' relaxing quite content and proud of himself. He sees himself as the hero. So a nice soak is well deserved. Congratulations Thanos.
Some times I wish I could go back in time and rewatch all the movies in the very beginning.
Thanos goal was the universal balance. He said that half of all living things will cease to exist and it is mercy because they wouldn't suffer him killing them for the same reason and no resources would be spend to fight him. He didn't expect to be alive after he used the stones for that huge thing , thats why he is stumbled after the snap . He was going to do it even if he was going to die with it.
Cap in the last fight is the only one who attacked Thanos twice. And pay attention that the second time he realises how Thanos uses the gauntlet by closing his fist to enable stones powers , so he doesn't try to beat or hit him , he tries to keep his fist open to delay him getting to wanda.
Groot is not worthy. Anyone can catch StormBraker, because it doesn't have the Odin spell. Odin's spell is only Mjolnir, and we saw the moment he put it on in the 1sr Thor movie. Before the spell, anyone could wield Mjolnir. Remember in Thor Ragnarok, in the hidden paintings in the palace of Asgard where Hela was seen wielding Mjolnir. No one worse than her, goddess of death for that, don't you think?.

not true! hela can also „hold“ it in ragnarok, when she catches and even breaks it. she once was already chosen worthy to wield mjolnir so I guess it stayed on her somehow.

@@valenteezy3070 Hela doesn't hold it, stops it, and breaks it. Demonstrating her power and strength. For example, when Thor puts Kjolnir on top of Loki, Loki is not "holding" Mjolnir, Mjolnir is on top of Loki. Likewise, Hela doesn't wield it, she stops it.
I think most people on reaction forget this.
Mjolnir: it was cursed by odin so that anyone who's not worthy can't lift it
Stormbreaker: no curse , so anybody who can lift it can.
also fact : that is red skull on vormir, he was sent there because of the tesseract the space stone
'Thanos will return' got a huge laugh in theaters. The last shot of the Nick Fury communicator on the ground showing the hero icon of the distress call he was sending out got wild applause. This was the Thursday nite preview night showing and all us nerds knew what the logo was and what hero it was going out to. The MCU at its height, baby.

Here are some answers to some of your questions. No you do not have to be worthy to wield stormbreaker but you have to be physically extraordinary because ordinary humans can't handle the power of the axe. A example of this is if someone like a super soldier where to hold stormbreaker they would only be able to wield it temporarily because even they're not strong enough to handle the power of the axe. Bruce built the Hulkbuster suit in wakanda because it was Bruce who built the Hulkbuster armor in Avengers age of Ultron. The only features Tony design for the Hulkbuster armor was for the fact that it would be deployed from space with it Veronica traveling armory with the feature of its limb could be replaced wind damage also that the armor would fit over his regular Iron Man suit.

On Quill losing it. Out of all those millions of times Dr.Strange would have known to keep Quill away from the figh or have Mantis sleep him. Dr Strange theoretically could have portal sliced off the guantlet . He didn't because it had to play out like this.

you have to be worthy to pick up mjölnir (the hammer) because it was enchanted by Odin, the enchantment can actually be seen in the first Thor movie when Odin banishes thor and casts him through the bifrost. stormbreaker is not enchanted by Odin so worthiness doesnt matter.

Nebula grew up with the same backstory as Gamorra - an orphan caused by Thanos purging half her planet. Thanos had the girls compete as they grew up. Gamorra never lost. Nebula had another body part replaced by a piece of cybernetics every time she lost as a punishment. So, yeah,she’s a bit conflicted.
I feel that a lot of people fail to realize that Thanos is such a great villain because his plan actually makes sense. Think about it: the way an eco-system works is that all the species involved regulate each others population through predation. Nature has a balance. Thanos seeks to be that balancing force on a universal scale to prevent what happened on his home world. And compared to starving to death or being eaten alive by a predator, simply being snapped away *IS* in fact mercy.
Yeah thanos is strong, but ya'll gotta seprate his own strength and the powers of the infinity stone.
Remember the stone is only used when it is the one glowing, and it's cool that he uses combos of the stone to outsmart his enemies, like when he throws the moon, the power and space stone is used

Strange didn’t see ALL the ways because he was interrupted while he was doing the thing. I still say that had strange not given the stone, Wanda had already ended it. Strange saved his own ass and saved Tony to die at a later date.
Strange told Thanos to spare Tony's life, and he did.

Thanos wasn't looking to gain any power. In his mind, the universe is running out of resources, and he's watching people suffering on planets. So, his resolution to the over-population issue and lack of resource issue was to randomly remove half of all living creatures in the universe. So, now he is happy on his farm, by himself, because he believes he just saved the entire universe.
Thanos reasoning though harsh ... males sense.... u will see why when u watch the eternals movie.
That's why Thanos said toughest choice requires the hardest will . . . .

Thanos basically admits to being at the mountain before but couldn't get the soul stone. That means that he killed half of gamoras people forced himself to love her just to kill her for the stone. If that's not evil, I don't know what is.

The Snap decimated half the universe. So every planet, every creature, every animal. But the one hope the universe has is that it hasnt lost all it's heroes. More importantly, the remaining Avengers, the original 5, Steve, Tony, Natasha, Thor, and Banner, remain to lead the rest of the heroes in a batlle against Thanos that wil be one of the greatest cinematic battles ever in comic book movie HISTORY!
I read the original comic that the plots based on, and its a bit more convoluted than this, but they rally crafted a great treatment to the story. When we saw this in theaters, the toughest thing was hearing little kids clutching their parent wioth tears in their eyes when all their favorite heroes just got snapped away. It was one of the first MCU films where the villain actually WON. Like left the heroes defeated, dejected and beat down emotionally as wel as physically. I mean we knew Avengers Endgame was coming, but this movie was an emotional gut punch to us!
Also, this Endgame would be the very last cameo we ever saw Stan Lee in before he passed away in 2019. Rest in power, Stan "The Man" Lee, one of the Truest of "True Beleivers".
Stormbreaker is not the same weapon as Mjolnir, and it does not have a worthiness enchantment attached to it. So anyone can pick it up, and wield it.
Stormbreaker is not enchanted, so one doesn't have to be worthy to lift it.
But you need God power to wield it, or else it's power will fry you.

You completely missed Thanos objective 😂 he's actually the protagonist. Worlds, according to Thanos from experience, dies from overpopulation because there wasn't enough resources to go around. So he started culling planet by planet, killing 50% of the population to save them. Notice he never actually kill anyone if he could help it. So, according to Thanos, getting all 6 infinity stones and doing it with a snap instead is mercy. So at the end he completely his mission and retires.
There is actually real life example of an entire civilization (almost) dying out because they ran out of resource.. Easter island.

Odin actually enchanted Stormbreaker in the comics and gave it to Beta Ray Bill, a hugely popular character amongst fans. There is an Easter egg in Thor: Ragnarok of Beta Ray Bill's statue/bust being honored as a past champion.
