10,000 Free Potato Curries served with Roti or Puri | at Vaisakhi Sikh Langar | London Baisakhi 2022

- We visited the 2022 Vaisakhi (aka Baisakhi) Festival in Trafalgar Square, UK; the event celebrates Sikh and Punjabi culture and is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar.
Sikhs give out free langar, langar is Prasad (also known as food blessed by God) so they don't charge for it.
It is very much a welcome return to Trafalgar Square after being at City Hall and More London Riverside.
Many thanks to the S.E.V.A. (Sikh Empowerment Voluntary Association) volunteer team who were serving up the delicious vegetarian food which was Puris (fried flatbread) and Aloo Subzi (dry potato curry).
The S.E.V.A. team (based in Ilford, East London) regularly set up a street kitchen to provide free food for the people (on the streets of the United Kingdom) who need it the most.

In Victoria (Australia) we've got a group of Sikhs who turn up at all kinds of natural disasters in a van and give out free food! They will drive hundreds of kilometres Everybody loves them.

This is called indian Sikh community, who do good karma by providing free good indian food. Sikh community is always famous for providing food in every country, where he lived, becz his guru given good education.

I wish they would start using Pattal, in older days, langar used to be served in plates made out of leaves and after eating all that garbage would be turned into compost, since they are just dried leaves that are used for making plates. Beneficial to the environment and free manure for plants.
What a great concept these Sikh community have, serving humans simple food with a smile....Hope other religions learn from this!!. if there is a way to help mechanize their service they can serve whole world!
