1000's of Puria, Roti, Potato Subzi, Kheer and Tea: Free Indian Food Langar at Vaisakhi 2019, London

- ✓ You say Singh, We say King!!! We are very much humbled, in awe and honoured to have attended this event.
We visited the 2019 Vaisakhi Festival in Trafalgar Square, UK; the event celebrates Sikh and Punjabi culture and is one of the most important events in the Sikh calendar, at the event (which has a festival or Mela type atmosphere).
Following the principles of Guru Nanak the Sikhs give out free Langar, Langar is Prasad (also known as food blessed by God) so they don't charge for it.
Many thanks to the S.E.V.A. (Sikh Empowerment Voluntary Association) volunteer team who were serving up approximately 10,000 portions of the vegetarian food which was Puris (fried flatbread) Rotis (unleavened flatbreads), Aloo Subzi (dry potato curry) and tea.

In India,Sikhs as well as Hindus does.Hindus serve the food in temples as well as on some festivals.Occasionally Sufi Shrines also serve the food to the poor.

There is a saying in Hindu Epics "Annadanam mahadanam" which means the donation of food is the greatest among all the donations.Serving the food to the hunger and making his hunger satisfied with the good meal is considered as good deed,it doesn't matter whether it is done by Hindu/Sikh/Muslim etc.
