Debo, you are playing with fire fishing with that downed forest in front of you. I'm typing this as you snagged the SECOnD lure of the vid!! 😂 Sorry buddy. The sacrifices you make for our content! But this is still making me excited to go fishing! Thanks!
We live on a river and got tire of losing lures and got the 10 oz Toothy Critter lure retriever (small one for bank and larger size for boat) and works with awesome success if you have the space to carry one.
We are overdue for a wet Debo... I haven't thrown a bladed jig near as much as past years. I've leaned toward a swim jig more this year. Another great vid!
Great video Debo, it never ceases to amaze me, how you come up with so much content, and each and everyone is a good one, thanks for all the tips and tricks, I'm living proof, you can teach an old dog new tricks.
I’d definitely love to see you break down the Abu Garcia reels and their process ranges Debo o really truly enjoyed your break down of the Shimano SLX line up of reels
Thanks for mentioning what to do when you get poison ivy. We just got a bad batch this last week. Using Dawn soap is a great idea when showering, but make sure it is the standard blue Dawn, not the antibacterial Dawn. Go Hawkeyes!
Great video and information I am new at bass fishing and yes it amazing how the bass will eat one then another what's something else so I never know what I need to uses thank you
I go with size change if fish are just swiping. I go smaller and stick with same color. If fish are engulfing the bait then I’ll go larger in same color. …. For chatterbaits, I really like the crosseyez, Picasso shock blade tungsten heavy cover. Both have weedguards. Crosseyez runs high and shock blade runs deeper.
Caught in the crotch, lookout now! Good review of the copperhead. I try not to over complicate colors, changing lures can be enough of a challenge at times.
After I lost my 4th Chatterbait fishing from the bank, I quit using them. I still have never caught a fish on one. Maybe one day. ...I do use the Z-Man flashback mini however, and I have caught bluegill, crappie and small bass on both the 1/8 and 1/16 oz. versions.
Im with you man. I honestly am begging to think the chatterbait is the most elaborate psyop ever. Everyone is lying to take my money. It definitely worked.
I struggled with catching anything on the Chatterbait when I first started fishing them too but I kept with it to learn it and it is now my go to bait. I almost always have 2 rods with chatterbaits tied on at all times (generally a darker color like green pumpkin or black/blue and one with a light color like spot remover). They really shine in late winter/early spring but you can get bites on them all year. My tip is slooooow dooooown your retrieve. You want it barely vibrating right off the bottom and if you feel it “hang up” a little on anything, pop it hard. A lot of time you will have bass following them and that quick flutter off something will trigger the bite.
Getting the bait to the fish is first consideration, followed by presentation, is it something the fish is attracted too, the color last thing I change up. If the fish sees a bait come by that it likes, it's not going to wait for a different color.
Hey Debo, I do like my ugly sticks. Pretty tough rods. As far as that poison ivy. I even look at that crap & I get it. Battled it once already this year. Dawn dish soap does work pretty good👊
I have been throwing the Yamakanuki a lot lately, in the full range of colors, from White, to the darkest Blue, and I seem to have the same success on whatever color I happen to throw. Due to the lack of rain, and the over abundance of grass, the waters have been very clear, I have been throwing White the most because I do follow the standard of brighter colors in clearer waters. So it does make me wonder if color is more critical in moving baits, than in soft plastics.
Bro what settings do you have your baitcaster on? You are launching those things out there. I can’t get mine to go nearly that far. Good video big fan of yours man.
I have done some casting vids. Bout time I do another. Nothing special for settings. I just set spiil tension so the lure falls slow/controlled. Brakes I start way up and turn down a bit each cast until you get a backlash/line fluff. Turn the brakes up a tad and get after those feesh!
#DEBOSFISHING I know you have used the Z-man cross- eyes before but have ya used the new Cross-eye weedles its gotta more like jig weed gaurd as opposed to the 2 wire gaurd on the original cross eye...now that being said it's NEW to me I guess I'd say
After one lost lure, I'd ve fuming, two I'd have to try calming exercises and not throwing stuff. I actually really like the evo, same but different than the jackhammer and nicer in the wallet. It's been said that the slobber knocker is very similar as well, but I've yet to try it.
For poison Ivy, exposure the best stuff hands down that will stop a break out if you wash ASAP is the original Tecnu poison ivy wash. Do not use the one that says scrub as it has stuff like pumice in which is very gritty and will make your skin raw and allow the oils from the poison Ivy to get in even deeper into your skin. Dawn is good in a pinch if you do not have Tecnu.
The ugly stik carbon is a heavy, tip heavy, over epoxied, medium sensitivity at best rod. Mine has been used naybe 8 times and part of the lock nut came loose. I had to repair it. Id 100% recommend getting a ark catalyzer over that ugly stik everyday all day lol. I have 40$ for my ugly stik though on a sale and thought why not test one.
@@DEBOSFishing you'll also see some other issues people mentioned to me after awhile. The grip seems to start coming apart, not uncommon with winn grips these days though lol. I use mine with a tatula 103 on it fir spinnerbaits and moving baits mostly so sensitivity isn't a huge issue but after 2 or 3 hours my arms feel the deference in weight compared to other rods I own lol. I tested sensitivity with bottom baits and I could tell a big difference in it and my 100$ 13 fishing rods and st croix bass x rods just ti name a couple. Think I'll test a halo rod next, seems Mikey likes them so I'd like to check em out lol
Idk that copperhead has me up in the air I seen someone talking about them like tackle warehouse or something like that and they show it hitting the BB’s in their hand but I’m like when water is hitting the blade and pushing it back I don’t see it hitting them
Don't worry about tourney anglers, Deborah. Sorry, auto-correct. You're a winner in my book. Now if you could only find another body of water without so many underwater hazards.
I woulda walked into the water to get those lures out! Did it many times! Otherwise I woulda lost a lot of lures that woulda cost me a fortune! But nope! Seldom lose a lure to snags, especially crankbaits and jerkbaits! Man up, go after them like a man!
This is a great channel about different lures and rigging but the real truth is fishing gear was meant to catch fishermen not fish have you ever seen a fish at the counter paying for bait or lures how about a $300 fishing rod
I have a 2-piece Ugly Stik like that I keep in my truck. Not the fanciest rod, however, it's tough and reliable. Cheers from the Ozarks.
I've been impressed with this one. Extremely comfortable to fish!
Debo, you are playing with fire fishing with that downed forest in front of you. I'm typing this as you snagged the SECOnD lure of the vid!! 😂 Sorry buddy. The sacrifices you make for our content! But this is still making me excited to go fishing! Thanks!
I was living on the edge...the edge got me...😂
Another enjoyable video Debo, you are still one of the best on UTube.
Thank you, means more to me than you understand 👊👊👊
We live on a river and got tire of losing lures and got the 10 oz Toothy Critter lure retriever (small one for bank and larger size for boat) and works with awesome success if you have the space to carry one.
You can use it from standing on the back I’ve always wondered if ya can because of the angle idk if it’ll get down at a good speed
We are overdue for a wet Debo... I haven't thrown a bladed jig near as much as past years. I've leaned toward a swim jig more this year. Another great vid!
Oh you and dizzle are both "swim jig guys" now huh...🧐

Great video! I really like that stealth blade too. I use that one a lot in clear water... Fishing has been a struggle the last month or so...
If i lost 2 baits at around $15 each i would have been swimming to get them both back.😂
If it wasn't a mile walk back I would have LOL
My friends just call me if I’m close to where they fish to bring kayak over so they can go get their lite back it already happen twice last mouth
@@curtisasmus8526 you are a true friend

I saw them first on an ad in Facebook good to know may be worth looking into 😂

Yep, good point. And you have to scrub it. Picture it lime you had permanent marker on you in those spots!
real one showing love to the affordable rods!

I just noticed these at Sportsmans the other day when I was looking for an evo. Maybe I'll pick one up and try it out
Oh, man! I can't remember the last time a ViDebo was interrupted by the compressor! Oh, the memories! 😂
Hahaha man, it has been a minute. I'm extremely to have it going again, fun stuff on the horizon I hope!

I usually go to a smaller size as well. I also try to vary my retrieve but it's such a guessing game.
@@DEBOSFishing vary retrieve also a very good one. Add in that pause or keep the rod tip high to kind of float/ bounce the bait on the pause.

Try the crosseyez. That's been the best "snagless" chatter for me so far. That blade just grabs stuff no matter what. They love to get stuck in wood 😢

@@dillonkaraduinis i would be "missing out" if i wasn't still throwing it. But i am. They just dont want it.
Leland's Lures Loc N' Knoc Lure Retriever
I'd spend the $10.00 and get something like that with as much as you like to
"Find wood....Pitch to wood"
I've used a couple. The problem from the bank is that they don't work if you're behind the object. I should grab a couple cheap pocket knockers.
@@DEBOSFishing it's worth a shot... You either get the lure back... Or you break off...

Yeah, some days I feel like I know EXACTLY what to switch. Other days I feel like a noob 😅
I would try the Gambler Komodo trailer, it helps not get hung up around wood. Not perfect but does help a lot.
Well now! I may have to get one of these lures!

Glad you tried the Z-Man. Looked like color was the key. Regardless the Copperhead still looked like a good bait. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Debo i been looking that these on fb for awhile now its time to make the buy
How much do those copperheads go for? Less than a thunder cricket?
$11.99 on TW now. I look for sales!

Yeah, I've contemplated the same. Moving by and they have to see and react. Vs pitching a lure where a fish is sitting and it just grabs it?
Weird looking 'eyes' er beebees making it look like a face. Different sound for sure. Color seemed the deal. Thanks Debo. ✌️🎣
The logmouth bass usually tree pounders! 😂
They put up such a fight 😅
What trailer you got on there. Looks like a Spunk shad???
He mentions it in the video at around 5:55
It's the missile baits spunk shad they collared with hog farmer on. Sorry, I forgot to link that!

Try black or black and blue in that muddy water.

Yasss! I've got more popper stuff coming up!
try the grass puzzle grass piece
Love the copper.
