1. Spook
2. Ripstop 9
3. Super fluke in Arkansas shiner
4. My favorite bait of the year: A knockoff Yo-Zuri Tobimaru jr. It's a jerkbait, but if you reel it slow it's like a glide bait, and if you reel it fast it glides, shoots off to the right, glides, shoots off to the left. Somehow it gives the same amount of waggles before it shoots to the right and then to the left. It's crazy.
Megabass SV3 Spinnerbait, Chatterbair EVO and the Mayor swimbait killed it for me this year! Great stuff as always!
@@Obsessed.Anglers mayor is so good!
@@Obsessed.Anglers ridiculous how good the SV3 is
@johnmango6056 true story man! I slayed on it and they don't bend out and just get bit!!!
@@Obsessed.Anglers the durability is unbelievable
Debo I’ve been wanting to thank you for a great day that I had about two months ago. You put out a video using a popper and you kept talking about how good that lure has been for you this year. I was listening while driving to do some bank ‘feeshing’ and you reminded me that I had been killing it early season with the popper, but hadn’t used it in a while when it dried up mid summer. But you kept talking about how it was still working for you so I told myself, I’m gonna tie on a popper and I ended up slaying them all day! It definitely has been my best Lure this year!
@Toadhunt1322 man, that makes me feel great. I'm glad my vid could help motivate you to throw the popper! Still a great lure!
I didn't love the bronco bug myself but I was getting skunked one evening threw it on weightless and smoked a 3hlf pounder and a 2lber back to back ..I'm in WV tho .thanks for the kids DEBo
My top three lures for 2024
1) OSP Dolive Beaver
2) Teckel Kicknocker
3) Bass Puzzle Grass Piece
These 3 Lures combined for over 1000 fish for the year of 2024. My biggest fish caught this past year was an 18 pound striper in the Colorado river on a Raid Japan G-dash bluegill pattern swimbait. Thank you for the video Debo looking forward to watching all of your new content, this is definitely one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Hopefully you had a wonderful new years and that all is well in your world. Tight lines bro appreciate everything you go for us feeshin friends !!!
The grass peice looks awesome for sure
What size dolive beaver? Was you fishing it on a free rig or Texas rig?
Loved the swamp lord this summer. Didn't get on a great popper bite but always had it tied on. Also learned the neko rig this past year and had it constantly tied on. Wished I spent more time with a bunch of techniques but had to catchem when and how I could
Oh yeah, I love these end of year/ new year best of type videos. Love the content!
Thanks for the video Debo. My go to bait/lure this past year was the small swimbait on a ballhead jig. 1/8 ounce angler tungsten eclipse with a Bass Munitions 3.5" or a 3.3 Keitech. And one that didn't work for me was the was the squarebill. Not for lack of trying or throwing it, just not much success this past year.
Happy New Year buddy! So happy you are in a yak! I remember when you said no way to kayak fishing. I would like to see you do the KBF State Challenge Series every month! Try that Freeloader on the Owner Range Roller or a Gamakatsu LG Horizon Head. Thanks!!
Love the reviews and definitely picking up some swamp lords! Thanks Debo
The swamp lord was my best frog this year.
Definitely will be throwing more topwater this year because of you. I wanna get my first on a popper.
Dude you might be able to do it at a pond when it warms up!
Use popper or suspending jerkbait. And cast out there wait 30 reel two three times wait 20 repeat reeel 2-3 times wait 10. Usually between 30-20 seconds and reeling before ten I get huge bites. I was killing time on suspending jerkbait in southern wi two days ago only. It was 30 degrees
The second the water warms up (March) and pop it from the bank and they’ll 100% slam it!
i just got my first largie on a whopper popper style lure tonight around 10pm 45°f out 😂😂😂 surprised me
Excited for the live!
I am with you on the Juve craw, I caught zip on it. I did buy a Megabass Vision 110, but haven't thrown it yet.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Chatterspike, although it wasn’t a bad bait, per se. Just wasn’t as impressed as I anticipated. I’ll stick with the Kamikaze SWIMON.
Why would anyone want to cancel you ?
Great videos.
Absolutely the topwater popper was my favorite last year and I caught a lot of little fish but caught fish. I’m going to have to try the Berkeley Frog this year also, not much Luck with a Frog but I Love throwing one lol it’s AWD in the River. Great Video Devon…..
Ready for Debo 2025!!! Year of the Mega Dinks! Love the vids keep them coming! It was a popper year for me had a blast throwing the SK Tiny popper
Stay safe on that kayak this spring make sure you have a plan if you flip it in that cold water. Love from South Dakota
@trenttegethoff3616 I have assist straps on that baby now. Learned my lesson!
Dude you’re spot on when it comes to the free loader and the spike. A super rigid straight tail bait is the absolute last thing I want in a chatterbait trailer.
@johnmango6056 glad I'm not the only one lol
Thank you for the information and video if I get to more fishing this year I can give a answer
Hey Debo, definitely the Rio Rico popper for me. Pricey? Yes, but it caught me a lot of fish. Also, the Yum hellgrammites were good. Agree with you on Rapala Ned blt & mayor. Still have yet to try the boyo 👊
This was my first year using the megabass magdraft and I loved it! So much fun. I was surprised how many fish it caught . The fluke was also super fun for me this year and the obvious a frog ..
@@ILhunter23 i need to toss the magdraft more
Swim Jig and swimming worm were my top producers this past year, the spinnerbait was something that I didn’t catch crap on this past year which is strange
Same with me with the Juvy craw. thing sunk so fast and to me was pretty steep for a soft plastic.
So I am not sure, but I think the chatter spike and the free loader as chatterbait trailers were meant to fish in colder water situations. I have some freeloaders that I bought just for the chatterbait. I actually did not get to use them last year for that purpose. Also wanted to say one that is a staple for me and comes out every time I go fishing is the strike king caffeine shad. I have caught a fish on that thing almost every place I go fishing. From ponds to lakes to rivers. The only thing I do not like about it is that I can at most catch 3 on average bass per bait when rigged on a 3/0 or 4/0 ewg hook.
Thanks for all you do and love your videos!
I can’t wait to try the poppers Debo hooked me up in a generous giveaway. I have never really thrown one. 🤩
The 5" Thin Yamamoto Senko was killer for me as a finesse wacky. Bought some off a suggestion from a video & caught a bunch off of them. Thanks for the vid Debo!
I just got some myself probably from watching the same video 😂 did you use the recommended hayabusa hook with them?
@@Ukcat24 No, I use a VMC #1 Neko hook that I already have several of. I do use a small 2MM or 3MM Crossover ring. I might try the Hayabusa hook when I have to reload on terminal tackle for the Spring. Big Bites has a thin worm that's a little bigger that works well too. Good Luck!
@ the vmc weedless neko has been my favorite standard 5” wacky worm hook for years. Great hook
First- megabass 110 is my favorite lure lol.
My productive: won 3 tournaments this year, one of them with my pops 3k on the cleanup craw I love the gp/black n blue i now have every color. My favorite lure has been the uv speed craw but the cleanup craw is a confidence booster!
@FutureBassmaster4469 I know, I definitely have a lot of people frown at me when I say rhe MB 110 is overrated. I just wish it was $15 or less, then we could talk LOL
Re: poppers- I used a popper almost daily at the places I fish(rivers and lakes) in TN. I could not BUY a bite last year for some reason!?! Switch to spook style, and boom fish on! I was killing it with the pop-frog and popper the summer of 23 too. I think it was because I bought 10 new poppers (bfs and up), new hooks & new enthusiasm. The fish were teaching me to stop spending my money…. 😅
@wineghost317 hahaha it's crazy how it works like that sometimes. I had ZERO luck on a buzzbait this year. Usually I always have a few good days on a buzzbait???
I have to agree the little mayor on a finesse underspin was the bait of the year for me. Specifically on a bfs setup. Caught more bigger fish than i have in my whole life including my pb at 6.5lbs. Great video as always Debo
@@kyleskaggs7458 those mayor's are so good!
You got me onto the popper bite this year after I watched your video and was hurting for a topwater bite . Frogging has been slow the last 2 summers, maybe due to lack of rain?, but rebel pop R did awesome and whatever the googan popper walks real well.
@sly4139 yeah, the lack of rain messed a bunch up. Places i used to fish shallow are way down and that cover is completely out of water. Fish are just in different spots. BRING BACK FROG FEESH!
I plan to pick up some top spins and Swamp Lords. Thanks Debo.
Appt New Year! Great reviews. Thanks
The Karashi by mega bass was a good one this year ..the bellow gill shocked me ..few others ..same on the freeloader ..I do think it shines on a jig head strolling ..gets more I’ve that roll they like
Baby DBombs in dill pickle on a Texas Rigged Woo! with the VMC Redline EWG did amazing for me, Bass and Crappie a few times too
My Fav is the Z Man Original Chatter 1/2 oz in black and blue with a 10,000 Fish Yoto Worm trailer in 4.75 in the same color. Catches fish from the start until the end of the season.
Debo, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years now and appreciate what you do. We both started kayak fishing within the last year and we both bought Titans. How has your lure selection changed since you have been kayak fishing? I am definitely able to fish a ton more lures now that I couldn’t before without getting snagged all the time from the bank.
@@thereelbenmills yep, can definitely fish those deeper lures out on the yak vs bank!
2.5" rapala crush city mayor is already out. I have a pack I bought during the Christmas sales on tackle warehouse. Awesome little paddle tail.
Happy New Year Debo! Yum Thump 'n' Dinger in Junebug was fire for me this year.
1) Berkley Stunna caught more nice bass for me this fall. The Maverick caught more smaller bass and perch.
2) 3/8 chatterbait with freeloader trailer . This was my first year throwing chatterbait. Looking forward to trying other trailers this year
3) Rattle trap
4) Zman soft plastic frogs
5) shallow crankbaits
I've had a lot of succes with the new Yum lures for Smallmouth up here in Canada.!
My new favorites is 13 fishing crank baits and the finisher by berkley.
Always have one rod with the hellgramite. Usually the smaller one. Catch dozens without changing it. The Nikko lasts me a couple of months.
My best bait for the year was the googan mini bandito bug, green pumpkin. Always worked when nothing else would.
I absolutely loved the freeloader-for smallies and largies in lake Champlain. But I can say they worked best (for me) on chatterbaits when I trimmed my skirts and fished weeds and grass. It hunted better and simply just worked. (Prior to figuring that out I almost gave up on em, but they did well). Also, I used them for drop shot as well and it worked great--usually got hit quickly , but again, smallie territory up her in NY. Keep the great videos coming and the split ring tip on the hellraizer is going to be useful as I felt I was fishing it wrong…damn thing got hit and I didn’t land 3/4 of the fish that hit it (except pike, which showed it wasn’t the most durable bait lol)
@jerodjmoore hmm good tips on the freeloader, I'll try trimming up skirts!
Freeloader was designed to have subtle tail whip but I also struggled to catch anything with it.
Lures!!! A gold bladed buzzbait, a Core Tackle swim jig, and the X Zone Neko Ned on your weedless heads were my best lures this year. Worst lures would have been all crankbaits. I never found a pattern with them. It's definitely one I plan to put in more time with this year.
@chrisrus53 man I had zero luck on a buzzbait this year!
I too have not caught a thing on those free loaders but after watching this video you brought up a good point they may be good for some ned rigging... what do you think @Debo's Fishing?
@KEZFishing hmm maybe? I think they could be good on a power shot or scrounger head. Underspin too.
What is your favorite chatter bait trailer to mimic bluegill? Also Would you suggest the hags hurricane vibrating jig or the z man original chatterbait?
Throw lil black small jigs on the hook or a lil trout magnets on there. Looks like a leech might work? Or nah?
@Calvin-m5r5t i like a small paddle tail. Like the little dipper in sungill color. Otherwise a fluke is always great
Got my family into topwater (especially the popper from rebel) they love it , especially seeing the blow ups , and even if they miss the first time they get lots of chances after the first strike
Can’t wait for spring , going to try that Finesse free rig stuffs
@@OutdoorMinnesota topwater blowups are always a great time!
Thanks Debo, great insights as always. Curious about what you think about the new Stunna 100s, specifically thePlus 1. Bought 3 from Berkley. They look great out of the box, and they twitch great, but there's something wonky about the weight transfer. When suspended at rest, they sit VERTICALLY in the water, nose down. Not at an angle, mind you, but nose down: not natural at all. If you pick up the bait and tilt it so the weight rolls back, it sits correctly. However, on the first twitch, the nose goes straight down again. I contacted Berkley, and they're solution was to send me 3 more baits, al of which functioned the same. I've been experimenting with different hooks and split rings and have a workaround, but you'd think they'd come out of the box ready. Interested in your (and other's) experiences. Thanks
Thanks for posting this. I was about to blindly buy 10 of the regular 100s because the 112s are nice. This made me remember the cull shad release with a bunch of bad baits let out into the wild. I'll order 1 of the regulars and go from there lol.
@LETTUCEbeeCEREAL maybe to 100s are cool. But the plus 1? No bueno
@jonorech hmm I've fished mostly the regular. I did have a couple good days on the +1 and don't remember that being an issue. I'll have to try more. I wonder if it was a bad batch?
@@DEBOSFishing maybe, but when the 3 didn't work, they sent me 3 more. Same results. Maybe I should just keep fishing them as is thanks for letting me know they worked out
These Best and Worst baits are very helpful. Thanks!
Happy New 2025🎇🎆🎊👊🏻👊🏻🎣🎣🤟🏻
12:14 Hellraizer wasn’t meant for freshwater bass. I found it shines with stripers and saltwater schooling fish with the straight/ eratic retrieve and vibration, and the oversized treble, when they’re busting on baitfish this is a dynamite bait for those schooling saltwater fish. Bonita, albacore, stripers, sea bass, peacocks.. I was hoping this would be a good lure but I didn’t catch a single freshwater bass on it, but recommended it to a friend who fishes saltwater letting him know what kind of situation to throw it in, and he loved it and had sucess on it
Frogs, swamp lord and the small scum launch frog have become my favorites as well. They come with soft bodies right out of the package. … the rapala maverick jerkbait, bronco bug, and mayor were a surprise for me, so far they all work exactly as advertised. … for me this year top baits were lipless, swim jig, drop shot, and free rig. And baits that were meh for me were the choppo, underspins, and stick bait. I don’t think I caught a single fish on these baits this past year.
I want to try those crushcity baits.
Also I didn’t like the freeloader and i caught 100s of fish on jighesd minnow, not one on a freeloader, but i did find use for it on a Smeltinator underspin, it has a subtle action and gives off quite a bit of vibration with the underspin and the micro vibes from the body of the bait. I wish they made a 3.5”. I’ve yet to try the mooch minnow, I have them.. I think they’re going to also be good on a underspin and also a Ned. I think the BLTs paired will either a 1stGEN jawdropper, if you haven’t used that head yet you have to , it accounted for multiple 4-5 pound smallmouth and a ton of quality size bass. Vertical jigging it over laydowns seemed to be a super effective way to fish it, if there was a laydown that extended to the bottom of the lake/ river.. I’d drop that down and just jig it and like a ice jig it does figure 8s, sits up on the bottom like a Ned, and sits horizontal when suspending it if you’re using a BLT or a Baby Z Too. And it’s great for “whinding” -much like the Duo Realis BR head, half the price. They’re 🔥
Was watching some of you old videos and saw you unboxing the Berkely Jester and I thought it would be a good free rig bait
@pwrfishing2515 man, i don't think i ever tossed those 😵🤦♂️😵
Two surprising new staples for me this year: (1) Missile Baits "Bomb Shot" for post-spawn largies in late spring (absolutely killed on a drop shot for months on end), and (2) the Lucky Craft 1.5 Squarebill (winding through schools of shad for aggressive bait chasers in the fall)... Neither of these are new baits, just ones I decided to really dial in this year (similar to your popper and fluke streaks, I think). You've definitely inspired me to pick up some of those "forgotten" techniques this spring. Aso acquired my first true BFS combo, which I'm itchin' to try out!
@@XanderMap it's funny how you pick up "old" baits and focus on fishing them...and boom...see how productive they can be!
I had good luck with the Ima Flit and 6th sense Provoke.
The Ned blt did good for me too Jacob nailed that one
Had the same experience with the bronco bug though I couldn’t make that work for me
Swamp Lord✓, but my best was the jackall tn60, specifically Threadfin Shad pattern
The favorite lure of the year was the Zman micro Ned I've got dinks on it, and I've got 2 and a half pounds on it it works for me, and walmart sells them so you can get the also anywhere
Can’t believe you didn’t have the Thunderhawk Sargeant as one of your favorites!
@bradwehrle7486 was a good one for sure, but was situational.
Maybe it's my area, but I've tried at least 5 different water systems and can't get a single bass on those OSP Dice Rubbers. I've had lots of Bluegill nip off all the appendages though.
@@InnerCityPigeon i haven't gotten on the dice train. I made some to try and never did LOL
I mainly fish for smallmouth and the juvy craw did not produce a single time for me either.
The only small mouths I caught this year was with a jig and I fished it slow and popped it very slightly.
The smallmouth around me are smart and scare very easily. Gotta throw light baits that don’t disturb top water. Or u have to wait for an east wind.
I haven’t had any success on smallmouth with anything besides a white jig and one with a wacky warm with seedless ewg hook.
Btw im going to be start harvesting my five to help the growth of the bass in the area. Do you eat lmb smb ?
Good video Debo 🤛
It’s not new but the Googan Squad revolver is horrible! Appreciate this video✊🏾💯
Agree 100% on this 2:55
I concure with you both.
Freeloader is killer jig and minnow style...also always have 1 on my chatterbait
Use a round ball jig head for the Free Loader and it'll work better
@nathanmcconnell5893 a lot of folks said that, I'll give it a try!
You should try the Missle Baits Baby D Stroyer. It is an awesome creature bait that I have won tournaments on.
@@waynekelly276 I've used those in the past, great little bait!
Favorite lure This year was the evergreen gizmo.
When is the best time to use a top water ? Thanks.
@aerosnout usually early morning or late evening. All day if it's cloudy and fish are feeding. Any time you see bass busting on bait, throw a walking bait or popper!
@ thanks !
Thanks, Debo
I don’t have FFS but I got into shaking a minnow this year and the freeloader was awesome for that. Can’t believe I’m giving away all the secrets but the freeloader KILLED it on a powershot also. As a trailer it sucks like you said but thought I’d share how it worked well for me.
@@740_bass_fishing I've had multiple people say that!
#1 - Popper Top water 100%
Mine was TP70 from Ark
Midwest Chicagoland
@georgiannegooday9108 that ark tp70 is a good one not talked about much!
Good stuff. I kill 'em, both LMB abs SMB on the Hellrazer.
Drop shot was #1 technique
Berkley Scent Flat Worm #1 bait
#2 was a the SPRO Chad Shad
The Bronco Bug... I wasn't thrilled by it either; it's a dud bait for sure. BUT then, out of sheer frustration I rigged it backwards like you would rig a Fat Ika; claws up by the eye of the hook. It was difficult, but I got several bites and landed three fish. Don't buy some to try this, but if you already wasted the money... why not?
@Skunkdman hmm that's interesting!
If you haven’t tried the spinbomb 60 from Berkeley I highly recommend it … destroy smallies on it
The Ned Rig killed it for me this year. Spro Flappin' Frog was great. All Gravity baits were amazing and saved several days from skunks. Crankbaits really didn't hit this year for me.
The free rig is my new obsession.
What’s some of your favorite free rig baits? I plan to put in time with a few rig this year. It’s something I haven’t done much of but want to build confidence in it. It’s something a little different that not everybody else is doing
Thanks Debo 🫡
My favorite lure this year would have to be the loaded Daingerous swimbait by bass mafia
So not get a Rico at full price and ship it international, got it. I'll do better next time. xD But gee do I look forward to get it in the water when the winter has passed.
My top bait is allways Daiwa D-popper frog. My 2024 bait have been the finisher from berkly. Fished it mostly around laydowns in the river where there is a stronger current. I can just dangle it in the face of the fish standing behind the structure chilling during summer. :P But allso redeyebaits jerkbait and blade bait have done it for me, pop them a email and maybe then can send you some, I know (becuse they told me) that they are working on new releases. :)
Hey Debo, thanks for the video. I left a comment before I got some cool JDM baits to send you. How would I send them to you?
@@corybodiker6243 oh man, you don't need to do that!

@corybodiker6243 if you're sure! My po box is in the description below. I appreciate it a bunch but don't feel like you have to!
@ I’m more than happy to hook you up with some I’ll try and get them out this week for you. I think you will like them.
My best lures were black frogs, 6th sense swimjigs and Ls lures flippin jig
One of my best rulers of the year was a slobber knocker with a six cents, jiggle minnow
1st gen top spin indeed is a great "finesse" spinner bait.
i caught a 5 lb pb on tht rapalla they call it a "slash bait" but comeon its a jerk bait...
Hog Farmer Spunk Shad chatter bait trailer hands down tail wagger.
@adamcrandall525 love that one!
Spunk shad is fire
Hey i tried to get one of your crankbaits from monsterbass and the sold out while I was waiting for my order to be fulfilled, I would really like one. Do you plan on doing anymore with them? Love the channel it's awsome!
@frederickschumacher988 yeah, apparently they sold out fast. They are supposed to be getting more. I'm sorry that happen!
More ideas to gather up before spring 🤣🤣👍. Nikko Hellgrammite both sizes where my desperation free rig lure! No worse lures for me!
Your absolutely right about the freeloader and the chatterspike but the new chattershad is way better but I really don’t think they will find anything better than a spunk shad
Spunk shad was my goto this year on the evo
I was going to ask if he tried the chatter shad as well. I i saw the z man release of them but havent seen them in stores anywhere. Also my problem with their swimbaits is they look good but i can never find them
@@tims_always_fishing7117spunk shad 100% of the time
I did well with a freeloader on the back of an evo this year, but i have to agree that the spunk shad looks/works better.
Caught speckle trout yesterday with the spunk shad
Hello Debo,
Lagaroo from Florida Best 2024 Lures down here for me were : Zoom UltraVibe Speedworm- Googan Bandito Bug 4”
6th Sense Duke 55 Lipless Crank. And Yes old school Rebel PoPR.
Worst: It’s FL so we all know there is no worst lol 🌞😝🫶🏼 Let’s Go Springtime for Iowa Thanks for Great Video my Friend.
No Senkos Debo??
@ryantherock7664 i think i only tossed them a couple times the entire year
I wasn't a fan of the EVO. Like the tungsten one but not the regular EVO.
Great viDebo! I crushed more fish last year on finesse gear / rigs versus ‘power’ rigs. Wacky, Texas rig, BFS jigs got it done for me!
