I was born in Ankara. My mother is Turkish and my father is American Indian. I was fortunate enough to live in Turkey for a while I still have family there in Turkey. Thank you so much for sharing .❤🇹🇷🇺🇸
You gave such a full history of Türkiye in one day in Ankara! From ancient Anatolia to Roman times through the Ottomans, you showed the richness of culture and civilization itself. Thank you, Aysenur for such a beautiful exploration of Ankara! It’s wonderful also that you become happiest in the fruit and vegetable market 😊 Everything looked delicious! (Even the offal 😍😆). I look forward to your versions of the recipes you’ve learned at the dinner ❤
I am watching you on YT and love your travel logs as well as your recipes .... you bring loving memories of my grandmother, long departed from this world - I am not Turkish but I grew-up in my grandmother's home town of Braila, town that while independent, it was Ottoman Empire's regional capital from the time of Mehmed the Conqueror .... the city had a significant ottoman population for few centuries with a blend of both Christians from Anatolia and Phanar/Fener and Muslims from some of the military stationed. To this day, the old mosque still stands, a lot of the dishes are still popular and part of local culture even though, most Turks that can be found, are new comers, after 1990. As I said, it has been few decades since I've visited my grandmother's home town but I still cook for my family many of her traditional dishes that seem to have been significantly influenced by the Ottoman cuisine of the time ... now, thanks to you, I can refresh some of those recipes and even put them in writing for the younger generation in my family - I never been in Ankara so enjoyed your walk about the city - Thank you!
Hi dear Camelia, thanks for sharing your lovely story. I am happy to hear that ı make you remember your memories of your grandmother (may she rest in peace) Also glad that there are still traditions influenced by Ottomans ❤️ best wishes from Istanbul
@@TFT Thank you for taking the time to read my comment - I am also sending you best wishes from Long Beach California .... one of the good things in living in Los Angeles/Long Beach California area is that I can shop Turkish specialized markets and find all the ingredients, sometime the same brands that you are using. It is very helpful that you describe the ingredients that you are using, just in case I need to find the same but from a different brand .... Thank you again and wishing you and your family the very best ....
