    Yeah the niburu thing is probably the planet orbiting thru the solar system since they don't have FTL, also it fits some ancient alien stuff

    • @christophermiraglia
      @christophermiraglia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly! They don't need light speed because Nibiru is located in our own solar system, not some far off galaxy as Mr. Welch mistakenly thought. The aliens are extremely long-lived, so the 3,600 yr orbit is nothing to them. They simply wait until their planet crosses with earth and jump off.

    The whole 144,000 bit is out of the bible. It's not just a JW thing. This game really cribs at lot of the old school Ancient Aliens theories going back to Chariots of Gods.

    • @christophermiraglia
      @christophermiraglia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although grossly misquoted by Mr. Welch, yes there is a bit of back-story to the setting that touches on the biblical 144,000 who are taken up to heaven. In our distant future the earth suffers a cataclysm that will destroy all life on the planet. Humans build several massive ships in orbit and a stargate they hope to use to travel to another habitable planet. The ships can only save 144,000 people. The stargate malfunctions and the ships are scattered across time and space. The "human" survivors go back in time 65 million years and eventually evolve into the aliens that later come back to earth and create the human race. Timey-wimey

      despite Mr. Welch's take on it, I don't believe there are any "mistakes" with the system. Much of what he interprets as bad ideas are just misunderstandings on his part about how the system works. It doesn't quite work the way he says in the video. If my system matched his explanation, then I would agree, it wouldn't work well. It has been heavily playtested and even copied by other more popular mainstream games.

      You're thinking of Zecharia Sitchin - he wrote crackpot pseudo-histories claiming that the human race had been genetically engineered by aliens who were mining the Earth for gold. So, the author of this game seems to have drawn very liberally from his books.

      @@Mr_Welch Yep. You had to cheese hard right at character creation. Also it has one of my favorite editing bloopers of all in a little expansion booked for the hordes-side "Unleashed' series. They made a not-quite-magic-user class for the non-magic-gifted Dhunian earthmother worshipper races. But for some reason the Farrow pigfolk who could just be normal magic users were on the list, and Pygmy Trolls (often called Pygs) who would have been perfect for the role were not. I'm 99.9% sure someone verbally said to make the class for "Bogrin/gobbers Pygs etc" and someone heard "Pigs" and put the Farrow since those are pig-people. That class also allowed for passive regen of vitality points (Though not serious wound meat crits) which is bonkers strong.
