- Sometimes, the spinoff is just as good as the original. That's the story of Delta Green. Equal parts X-Files, Mission Impossible and the SCP Foundation, it puts the players in the roles of government agents investigating dangerous cults and other paranormal threats to the world. Off the books of course. The game so nice they wrote it thrice. Featuring out-of-this-world villains, mounting tensions, and with the backdrop of conspiracies within conspiracies, it's never a dull moment at Delta Green.
I showed the system to my father
He said “Oh, so you play the bad guys?”
He’s a libertarian
"Imagine if the FBI and CIA actually had a reason to do all that crazy shit. They just had to come up with a cover story about why they need to do Waco or MOVE."
The events of Waco is attributed to Delta Green. They thought it was a mythos cult when it was just regular people. They discovered that searching for the occult trappings after the fire. They don't like to talk about that out loud
That's Canon?@@Mr_Welch
@@tinfoilhat3268 Yes, the Branch Davidians in Delta Green were burned down because the operatives thought they were summoning a monster.
Whoops
DELTARDS RISE UP
Have you heard about the ficus?
Mad Musings is Back... SWEET !
A delta green where MK Ultra was some kooky "Dark City" knock-off would be dope.
We have to play this!
The group I ran Delta Green I had to change from Cthulhu to a Fey Cold War where their handler was Robin Goodfellow than King Oberon against fey from a different realm who have came here because of losing a war on their home realm because we had a fast time.(Because of one of my players knowing Call of the Cthulhu front to back and has a problem with meta gaming so no Cthulhu for him, also took the rival fey from The Veil Riders Books and TTRPG game by Guardbro here on TH-cam.)
Delta Green in World War 2? Huh..so that explains World War Cthulhu then.
Technically started in the 1930s after the Innsmouth raid.
EPIC member here. You Yank's don't get all the fun
I like your new intro also it's cool that they use the Migo as the main bad guys whisper and darkness is probably my favorite Lovecraft story although mountains of Madness and Shadow out of time are definitely close seconds and thirds
Ah yes Jose Chung's From Outer Space.
Too bad that my gaming group wouldn't really jive with Delta Green's mechanics and premise, because I would like to play it sometime.
I wonder if Delta Green would be a better fit for a Necroscope game than the official Necroscope RPG?
Oh I love me some Delta Green. Their take on Hastur is absolutely terrifying.
You either die during the op or live long enough to become the team's next problem.
Couldn't get into this one, love the idea but in execution (and starting with the latest edition - big mistake there) you can reach out and feel the agitprop. Same problem with modern PARANOIA - thankfully I have XP.
Great intro!
Book club night at the Delta Green library will never be the same
I so love this game, but I can't find folks to play it with. I'll run it!
Stoked to see this. I've been interested in this setting forever and ever never gotten to play it but it's always tickled me
09:03. Walker Texas Ranger roundhouse kicks a ghoul?
Ohhh new editing! This might be super fun.
Wait, crossover with Cyberpunk 2020 ? So there's a chance that Saburo is in cahoots with Nyarlatoteph ?
@@bluesoystercultist7164 he is a significant shareholder in the company
This does sound really fun.
Wooo new intro, hope this one sticks.
Ooh, fancy new intro.
Thank you this! So cool
Hell yeah sick intro
This and Alternity's Dark Matter were two sides of the same coin. Perhaps do a review of D.M. too. Both were released about the same time and are fantastic for different reasons.
@@emperorclint I've actually already covered alternity including dark matter in a previous video
@@Mr_Welch I'll check it out. Alternity included Dark Matter, StarDrive, and Gamma World, so I was thinking about a review solely about Dark Matter to complement this one.
I love me a mad musing!
Cool intro.
Chuthulutech were!?!
WOOOOOOO!!!!
9:13 what is that from?
Love death and robots
Deadlands had a /somewhat/ similar setting called 'Weird War 2' and I think had a Vietnam war supplement.
Among other things, it had German tanks powered by unholy abominations as Hitler's Germany went whole hog on the supernatural to bolster their war against nearly everybody else. Things that creeped out the rank and file German soldiers.
Close but incorrect. Weird War 2 was a D20 gameline put out by Pinnacle Entertainment, the company that invented Deadlands, with the basic premise being that the suffering, torment, misery, fear and death of World War 2 had stirred malevolent supernatural powers, which the Axis powers were working to capitalize upon as a weapon against the Allies. It had about half a dozen supplements then went under. Then, after Pinnacle created the Savage Worlds universal system, they brought the concept back, expanding it with sublines examining other wars; World War 1, the Vietnam War, and the Roman Wars of Conquest.
