Axial AX24 XC-1 4WS Review & Run - Does it live up to the original??

- Did you own an original AX10 Scorpion?? Axial Adventures gives a nod to the "OG" rock crawler with the release of the all-new 1:24 scale AX24 XC-1 RTR with four-wheel steer! I believe this is the first micro crawler to be available as a ready-to-run option with four-wheel steering, and it's a ton of fun to drive. In this video, we unbox it, talk about the features and give a run in my backyard!
It actually performs really well when you find the right stale features to crawl. It's a tiny spider!

I had one back in the day used it for a year then gave it to a friend who still has it , I just ordered my AX24 and all the brass upgrades, first 24 for my channel, if it is as fun as it looks I will have to get another lol

Looks like a great little crawler. Would like to see a 1/18 version with oil filled shocks.

What a sweet lil ride… My girlfriend and I have a pair of the ECX Tempers that we luv to crawl anywhere and any condition… Now we might just need a pair of these… They’ll fit right in with our pair of SCX24’z…

The AX10 was my intro to RC crawling. I still have it, although there aren't many parts of the original crawler left that haven't been upgraded in one form or another :P

Cool rig, seems like the 4 wheel steering might take some getting used to, but looks like alot of fun. The small rigs are so nice to have when it’s too cold/rainy/dark to go outside, great video !!!
I had an ax 10, loved it, had wheel weights on the front wheels, no slipper, saddle pack 9.6 on front axle, that truck was bad to the bone
I lost it when I let a friend borrow it, things happened and his wife sold it, I really liked that crawler
I didn't know Axial is coming out with this! Funny thing is, I just ordered an SCX24 compatible off-brand 'carbon fibre chassis'. Basically it is a twin vertical chassis design, which I'm planning to turn it into a 4WS micro rig just like this one.

I picked up an orange one today at my hobby shop. The rock lights and 4ws are great. Amazing turning radius.
I did not have the original AX10, my first crawler was the SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited back in 2016. I will add this to my fleet of vehicles.
I got the ax10 when it first came out, got me into crawling. I still have it, so I guess I need to get one of these little guys.
Excellent presentation. Nice little rig. Yes I had an original Scorpion. It was in kit form. Really fun to build.
It's small, but it seems to climb rocks well.
I would like to see a video of climbing the rock later.

I started crawling with the Wraith back in the day. Still got it. I love these little guys and I didn’t know Axial was putting this out. Definitely will be picking one up to add to the fleet.

My first foray into micro crawlers was a 1/24 ecx barrage a long time ago & what a TURD that truck was. 😑 I more recently bought a 1/24 axial scx deadbolt for only $119 new & man what a DIFFERENCE! This truck is like they just shrunk down the 1/10 scale version & acts & behaves like a much larger truck. I’ve learned one thing: Axial is the best in the crawler business & I’ll never buy anything else for performance & reliability. This new 1/24 axial with the dual steering for a rtr definitely takes it to the next-level. 🔥

For mine I got the metal front & rear with the front overdrive gears. Also the brass beadlock rims & more aggressive tires. Helps a ton with keeping the wheels down. Very fun in stock form too.

Looks pretty good! I remember 17-18 years ago when the ax-10 came out, it just destroys everything else on the market!
I had an HPI W.K. with lot of mods, bc at the time there was no dedicated crawlers!
I like my B-17 but this one seems better for indoor. Now I'm looking at the new UTB18 all because of you RC Girl😄👌

I ordered one of these because I am not concerned with fake shovels and mirrors and knew this was going to be something that was more performance-oriented... I do have to say a lot better than I expected as long as you tighten the servo horns up out of the box..... and for climbing simple fix of two 7 G wheel balancing weights on a front Servo

I think this little crawler is really cool. It's not too overly expensive. I'd definitely consider getting one. I'm a car guy and I was so amazed when I discovered full size rock crawling. It's alarming what they can actually do. You drive this little crawler so well, although I knew there had to be a mishap somewhere :). I may try this n put a new plane on hold.

Haha this was so hard to film, one handed drive and figure out 4wheel steer at the some time!! Definitely fell off the fence many times lol but the final couple takes I got it down! 😀

Still have my oh ax10 comp build.
I got a AX-10 RTR in ‘07 or ‘08 Wish so bad I would’ve got the kit.
I really missed out on getting a Betty body, and with the RTR I had to get all metal links and all that. It got me into 2.2 comp crawling tho. Still have my Losi comp crawler and just refreshed it and got it back into running order.
Some heavy grease or 1000wt silicone on the shock shafts and “pistons” slows down the friction dampers on the 1/24s and they work as well as oil shocks.

I recently refurbished and upgraded an axial ax10 for my friend from the Breezer RC chain. I can say that the original is a super quality Rc👍. I admit I made it even better😏..
This little 1/24 looks great, hoping that the steering servos are of quality, a rare thing in rtr...

Would you compare this with the FMs real wheel steer crawler with 2 speed? Thesev are so similar and even though these tires look cheap they seem to be better than the other one. Great video 🔥🔥

I had one to and had the scorpion first then bought the ax10 RTC green one and a red one.
I have both the AX10 KIT AN ARTR, my kit is a near stockish configuration, but my ARTR is nothing close to stock, I was about to buy a 24 gladiator for modding, now ill buy this instead, lol can't wait
can't wait to get one, those servos look better than the emax ones even

There have been a lot of 4ws rtr micro crawlers on the market for about... 10 years? Not that that is important- i think if Axial were smart their body could have been a throwback to the ax10 while simultaniously looking more scale. A scale truck that is bobbed and pinched is not a stretch and factory bodies that do that well are already on the market.
4x4 and 4ws!? Dont forget it comes in orange too. Im sold. A bit top heave but a set of brass wheels should fix that

Just as I got into RC Crawling, the AX-10 came out. Within months I had spent around $3000 on my custom 2.2 rig. Only thing Axial at that point were the axles, lol.
That moved to 1:18 and another $3000 rig. And then comps and comps all over the mid-west, and, and............. It was a great time in the hobby. I miss it a lot. This is cool but I'm not into 1:24. I have driven them. Just not wanting of one.

Looks fantastic...but, the overly-high COG, and the front/rear 'worm' gear drive, makes it a "no-go" for me.
On (what I'm assuming will, sooner or later, be) a 'plus' side, those companies currently producing aluminum axles with standard steel R&P gears for the SCX24 will probably come out with wider AX24 versions, which will simultaneously help lower the COG.
