Honestly Crosshair becoming one of my all time favorite characters was somewhat unexpected. Honestly he is kind of relatable. He trusted his squad/his brothers and they did kind of leave him, he had to watch them leave multiple times [to relatable for my liking] and was branded a villain by most people. In season 2 he realizes that the empire is evil when the LT [Nolan] refuses to help Mayday. I’m happily surprised how much we have gotten to see him in season 2. Overall, developers did a great job with each character’s personality, development, and little details about them. Season 2 finale was traumatizing in pretty much every way and brought up new questions. Excited for season 3 and hopefully it holds more answers. May the 4th be with everyone and their sanity while waiting for season 3.
He really is so fucking relatable it hurts. Being presented with two life changing choices and taking the wrong one, feeling alone, feeling betrayed by loved ones even though logically you know the reasoning behind the betrayal makes sense , being an outcast, feeling lost.... wtf, since when was I a Star Wars character
Great video. I love this point of view as I hadn't considered it, I'd perceived crosshair as a tool for plot progression rather than a hidden story arc in its own right. He does embody the dilemma of being who his brothers want him to be, and being who his nature demands him to. I'm now eager to see more character development, as it would once again continue to humanise clones even more, further emphasising the message repeated throughout clone wars that, despite being duplicates of one another, they were unique on an individual level. To me, as a clone wars fan since I was a child, crosshair breaking this notion that clones are just soldiers who follow orders and die would be a very enjoyable moment. The emancipation of Clone Consciousness
Crosshair has definitely become the most interesting of the 99's. In his mind, he didn’t betray his squad. They betrayed him for not complying with the Empire, which at that point was just a newly formed successor state of the Republic. He understood that they were soldiers through and through, and nothing will ever change that. Even after they defected, Clone Force 99 became Mercenaries. Not only that, but they dragged a kid into that. Something Crosshair calls out in S1. In truth, how much of a difference is there between being a soldier of the Empire and being a Gun for Hire? Yeah, there's more freedom in the latter option, but how often did the Bad Batch's jobs lead to empowering criminal organizations? I mean, none of the jobs the squad pulled should've been a place for Omega to be. But what really made Crosshair so much of a good character in S2 was Mayday. A clone Crosshair hardly knew but came to respect during their short time together. Even though Mayday was a reg. The two do their mission and have to travel back to base injured and freezing, only for Mayday to die there. And the smug Imperial Officer looking down at the both of them, scolding them on not being successful in retrieving "valuable" cargo, when it was just suits of armor for their replacements. That's when Crosshair realized that the Empire didn't care about him or the Clones, and no amount of discipline and loyalty would fix that. He saw that when he killed that officer.
Crosshair inhipiter chip was like 40-70% active thast why he tryed to kill kenan thats why he said "good soldiers follow orders" Crosshair is best clone he is cool and interesting the betreyal was awesome and his imperial disaing is good. Sorry if this is little bit hard to understand english ain't my first language
No worries, I understand what you are saying. I do agree that the chip was affecting him slightly but it doesn’t discount that his core values align with the “good soldier” narrative.
Crosshairs is obviously affected by the chip, to say they weren’t affected by it is wrong. Hunter, echo and tech weren’t. Crosshairs and wrecker were. Wrecker has a whole episode where he tries to kill his comrades
Yes, they were affected but it was delayed due to their unique mutations. All of them were going to be affected by the chip at some point which is why Rex urged all of them to get it removed as soon as possible when it started to affect Wrecker. I also believe that the chips affect on their brain depends on each's mental fortitude. Hence why it started to affect Wrecker 1st, being the most childlike of them all. Plus, It didn't affect Crosshair until Tarkin had the scientist on Kamino intensify the programing of the chip in his head.
It did affect crosshair from the get go hence he tried to kill the Padawan and then reported hunter when he sensed hunter did not kill him. Crosshair wouldn’t deliberately betray his group unless the chip was active. And the only reason he didn’t kill his comrades was because the chip was only partially working. Once it was intensified he then was willing to kill them, because the chip was working almost completely.
@@El_Capitan133 Fundamentally, I disagree but I do see your point. I think him wanting ti take down Kanan was just who he is at the core. He even said it in the finale of Season 1 to Hunter. If the Chip was partially active and resisted killing his teammates then he wouldn't have reported his platoon either. He just disagrees with how they handled things, especially with Hunter's orders who he thinks is putting them at risk.

As I was watching season 2 episode 12, I decided that Crosshair was my favorite Star Wars character.

@@KaizokuSleven yeah crosshair wants everything to be in order it is his personality

May the 4th be with you guys!
Also, who's your favorite character from the Bad Batch?
I would Love to see a vote on this honestly, cause I think it'd be a very divided one
crosshair/tech
In that second scene in skako minor he sounds like Hunter haha
Yea he definitely does. Probably because the same actor voices all the clones on the animated series 😂
He is literally me frfr
Yea, Crosshair is more relatable than we think
