If we're being real, Drake really doesn't support his artist. Roy Woods should be on Tory Lanez's level right now. Majid Jordan are slowly approaching becoming known artist, but they should be further then where they are at the moment. Seems like PND is the only artist he puts on, and tbh, he holds him back, because he's forced to give up his hit records to Drake and other artist. Unlike Ty Dolla $, PND doesn't want to give up his hit records, and he's noted saying this multiple times.

Almost nobody in hip hop or rap makes the songs entirely by themselves. You generally only see the 'artist' making all of the music when it's a group - like a rock band or jazz band or whatever. So you could have a hip hop group where one raps and the other produces, and confidently say "this song was _made_ by Atmosphere" for instance because Slug does the rapping and Ant does the producing.
Of course, there are some situations when an individual is talented enough to do everything themselves when they want to like a Kanye or Connor O'Brien from The Villagers, among many others.
But in general, if you only see 1 person, like a Drake or Weeknd, they have a team of people behind them helping them to create the final product that we all hear.
